World Music Day; Reminisce On Some Nigeria's Old School Music

Re: World Music Day; Reminisce On Some Nigeria's Old School Music by Racoon(op):
Nice compilations! This is a clear collection of excellence and divine creativity. I was privileged to listen and dance to most of these vibes.

Nostalgic times back then I tell ya. This was when good music was still strong, healthy and alive. Songs with good meanings.

However, hits from the likes of Christy Igbokwe Essien, The Lazarus Brothers, Funmi Adams, Onyeka Onwenu, Toun Soeton/Bola Are, Sonny Okosun, Reggae( Majek, Mandators, Blackky etc ) among many appeal to my music emotion than any. You will be forever celebrated folks

This was when melody was a major determinant of good music. All the songs age and never fade

I recall the LPs with pictures of some these talented at home back inthe days when we had real artists who sang from their hearts.

Many did not make money but they were passionate about their work, it wasnt much expensive to produce songs and market them.

Big label came and destroyed everything.

When music was music. Not now that they sing baby give me that, baby give me this.. Baby shake the bumbum. They glorify stupid life styles in what they dish out these days.

And that's what the Gen Zs likes, you see them shaking their legs like an antelope that escaped iron trap, they will say it's leg work. Wonderful generation..

The list is nostalgic.

Music has really evolved over the years, from the impactful to the whimsical.
