Because of low infrastructure in the south east. |

This is just VAT. It is chicken change compared to oil wealth being milked from South South to develop other regions. DesChyko:The VAT comes from companies servicing the oil sector. Wealth from Crude oil in not subject to VAT. Crude Oil sales from South South remains Nigeria's major source of income. &VAT remains a small fraction of this Wealth. For your info, Nigeria makes roughly $120m every day from Crude oil. VAT is no where near that figure. |

What is the aim of repeating this publication? We've gone down this lane before, No? https://www.nairaland.com/8453256/vat-what-states-generated-what That being said, VATs are not always remitted at the point of consumption but the costs are borne by the consumer and paid by the consumer at the point of consumption. This data is flawed. I'll give an example. A company that produces canned meat to be sold all over Nigeria. The company remits the VAT where it is headquartered. But the canned meat is sold all over the country; and the VAT payers are all over the country. The same applies to every interstate goods consumers have to pay VAT on. Quest7777:You possibly don't know that places with high oil activities pay a humongous amount of VAT too. |

The correct question should be, Why was Tinubu defeated in Lagos? If you can be able to answer this question fairly, you will know your answer. You can also push the same topic on people's faces every morning, you will be getting same answers. Lagos is a Nigerian Project, not a Yoruba project. Please what exactly stopped the Owners of Abuja from developing the city and getting all the IGR before it was made Nigeria project? People from all over Nigeria especially the South East have thousands of hotels in Lagos and they don't pay taxes to their various States. Where do you think this IGR comes from? We all know it's a south western state but every part of Nigeria from Sokoto to Rivers have investments in Lagos because it was the capital of this country for goodness sake. |

Okay this is good information. South west and south south are actually the ones sustaining this country. They are the ones that should be fighting to get out of this contraption. |

What do you expect from people who have refused to developed their own region? Rather they will leave their landlocked region and be dragging southwest/southsouth. Mondays are taken serious all over the world, but they choose to be sitting at home every Monday, in the name of free one bleached monkey. How will they attract investors? Ehn... All these parasitic regions should be given allocation based on their nonsense contribution. Now I believe Nigeria is a scam according to my southeast brooders 🤣🤣🤣 |

If you like, release and push this to front page every blessed day, it doesn't matter Until you start telling us the makeup of the revenue from each zone and those that contributed to it there. You refused to open up SE for business and development, they move to Lagos and other preferred locations to do their businesses, u still complain This will still hit here tomorrow!!! |

franudi:Upon the increase in vats, there is still low infrastructure in the east. And you want someone in the east to come snd replicate what's happening in the East to the national level |

Truly truly this stat is a testament that empty barrels makes the loudest noise ! This stat they would never put it on their propaganda pages they use to tarnish the country’s images, but if it’s to post lies that suite their narratives , they will be in John benson mood ! |

I think it's high time the south east left Nigeria for good. They aren't contributing anything to the economy of the country at all. Please, Nigeria, let Biafra go with their poverty abeg |

It can clearly be seen who is feeding who. It is crystal clear who the parasite is. Ironically, they're the very ones who call others parasites. |

South West keep doing father Christmas. Yet vitriol is all they get in return. I'm looking forward to the days the honchos of South West will be wise enough to find ways to bolster their indigines economically. You have the land, economy opportunities, positioning, inte-lli-gence and education yet it's others that pilfer and seize the advantages. All in the name of hospitality and diplomacy. Trade is the mainstream of SME kind of economy that a country like Nigeria can operate on. The SE understand this and move to seize that area—via fa—ke products importation, adulte—ration of goods, and domination of major markets. The North knows too—that's why they arrest agriculture and divert its production mainly to their side (if you get mind, enter farm to plant in the SW na and watch herdsmen/Fulani make suya off you). Benue, the food basket of the nation, is handcuffed already, unfortunately. Petty businesses like farm produce sell—pepper, vegetable, fruits, yam and the likes that the women of the SW used to use to send their children to school are taken away by the teeming N'ners. Likewise, the transportation industry. Many of our households used this to fend for families and ensured they made worthy graduates and have fun with owambes. The okada/keke/korope commercial transits have now largely been hijacked from the SWners. Now the income have largely stalled and they can't fund the education they have been historically identified with. It's a sorry case. It's surprising the rot has been left to continue this much. Left so, I don't know what will be become of my people in the unforeseeable future. Dear SWners, wake up today and start doing businesses. Yes, large scale businesses. Leave artisanships and crafts for now, learn the ropes of a business well enough, get grounded in it and go all in. Find money or borrow it to fund the new business. Get only the original products and sell, you'll get the patronage and make the money and improve your household economy, and that of our people, at large. Stop building hotels and schools and filling stations, that's already more than enough of that. Moreover, the most profitable venture is manufacturing. Clothing, tissue paper, rubbers and so on, just manufacture what people need and sell. Our land is blessed, let's use the opportunity. Only us can help us. All these easterners and northerners are just here to leech. Wake up and do things. Rather than be a tailor, start importing quality clothing materials. Rather than be plumber, start selling quality plumbing materials. Rather than selling fruits, adopt merchandise farming but make sure to be safe. Someone has to say this. Adapt or die, despite all your might. Peace to us and others from the other sides. |

This topic has turned to advert to run for one month because of the agenda involved .These south easterners are doing business in Lagos and fetching the revenue for them. Talk about Alaba Intl, Trade Fair, Ladipo, Oshodi and many other big markets in Lagos. The Oil revenue in the South South/South East is what is also feeding Nigeria so you expect them to eat little? Create a working seaport in south-east and see how changes will occur |
