This sounds like you are blaming Peter Obi. But its not fair, he has a lot to figure out and Nigeria is currently unstable now. Honestly, the average Nigerian is just unstable and corrupt. Opportunists are everywhere and betrayals are assured. |

Peter Obi is undoubtedly the biggest political factor now in Nigeria. For the benefit of the intellectually challenged, Hundeyin is simply saying Peter Obi should tell Nigerians his plan and which road him wan follow so that make all of us follow am strategize on time, not when it's too late. It's actually a testament of how Nigerians can't wait to follow Peter Obi. Obi will defeat them. Nigerians don't fear. Tulumbu has demarketed himself with wholesale bad policies and lack of capacity. |

Why not this guy start talking about fixing the loopholes in the electoral system, was it not the loopholes in the electoral system Tinubu wouldn't have emerged. Let the first thing be done first before calling out a private citizen to declare his intention. Start calling out the national assembly to fix the loopholes, that's the right thing to do now, otherwise it would be a free ride for Tifunubu in 2027 |

emkz:This is incorrect. He had achievements to campaign on, that’s what got him 6 million votes in the first place from a relatively unknown party. He had overwhelming support in Lagos Abuja, and Rivers. But one of his opponents had other back door plans, and he succeeded because the sitting president looked the other way. that’s what happened |

My take in all this brohaha of a thing is, all this while Nigeria has solely depended on the US/UK policies believing that it will take us out of this shit hole we have been since the so called creation of this entity called Nigeria, can we just switch to the Asian block and see if the narrative while change? I want a Nigeria that will work while l am alive to see it work, let's drop sentiments and focus on improvement which might come from someone we least expect, APC can't give us this, that l have seen. Like l said it's my take, what about yours ? |

Nigerians are tired of APC/BAT! Mr Peter Obi has just one term only as he resumes as President in 2027. He will turn things around & mentor someone from the North that will continue in 2031! |

magoo10:U don't have to be talking about 2027 but u should be strategic especially when u contested and didn't achieve the expected outcome. If u don't learn from ur mistakes u will repeat them. He doesn't have to declare now but he must know what he wants to do so it can be gauged and scrutinised to see if it can work or not or how it can be tweaked or improved on to be able to achieve the expected result. Unless he just wants another trail by error fire brigade political hype that will go nowhere. This thinking they will come out of the blues to tell Peter Obi to run in 2027 and Peter obi waiting for people to come out of the blues to force him to run with no strategy or collaboration or coalition will only end in more tears and same disappointment. There must be planning depending on what u are up against and this needs time, effort, discussions and collaborations. Peter Obi can never win a corrupt system and incumbent government on his own. At best he will cause confusion for others who are planning and trying to defeat the incumbent. At the end of the day the corrupt system will win. |

Peter Obi and the Strategy of Silence: Why He’s Holding Back on 2027 In Nigerian politics, timing is everything. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has notably refrained from declaring his ambition for 2027—and this restraint is deeply strategic rather than indecisive. Managing Party Factionalism Obi’s Labour Party has been embroiled in bitter internal conflicts, with rival factions jostling for control. Declaring his candidacy now would risk plunging the party into further chaos, as different factions might weaponize the declaration to either endorse or resist his leadership. Remaining silent allows Obi to preserve neutrality and avoid being dragged into internal wars that could fracture his base. Building Coalitions Quietly Instead of jumping into the race, Obi has been working behind the scenes to build a broader opposition alliance. Rumors swirl about talks with figures like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi for a possible coalition. Publicly declaring now would lock him into Labour Party politics and potentially alienate allies from other parties who might prefer a joint opposition ticket. His silence preserves negotiating power, letting him emerge as the possible consensus candidate for a wider coalition. Respecting Zoning Sensitivities Nigeria’s unwritten rule of power rotation between the North and South remains influential. Having just produced a southern president in Bola Tinubu, there’s pressure from northern politicians for the presidency to shift northward in 2027. By not declaring early, Obi avoids stoking regional tensions or being accused of disrupting this delicate balance. His strategy is to wait and gauge whether Tinubu seeks re-election or if northern leaders push for power to return north. Maintaining the “Shadow President” Image Since the 2023 election, Obi has carved out a niche as a “shadow president,” criticizing government policies and championing good governance. Declaring his candidacy prematurely could shift focus from his role as a moral voice to that of an ordinary politician seeking power. His current posture keeps his brand intact and sustains public goodwill without the distractions of campaign controversies. Avoiding Political and Legal Traps Nigerian politics often deploys lawsuits, party expulsions, and administrative hurdles to sabotage rivals. Declaring too early could expose Obi to legal and political traps from opponents both inside and outside the Labour Party. Staying undeclared shields him from becoming the immediate target of political machinations. Financial Prudence and Surprise Factor Running a national campaign in Nigeria is expensive. An early declaration would force Obi to start spending resources now, draining funds before the real race begins. Waiting allows him to conserve funds and deliver a surprise announcement closer to the elections, maximizing impact and momentum.., Peter Obi’s silence is not hesitation—it’s calculated strategy. By staying uncommitted publicly, he protects his party position, keeps coalition options open, respects zoning dynamics, preserves his moral image, and avoids early political battles. Whether this patience translates into success remains to be seen, but for now, Obi is playing the long game in Nigeria’s high-stakes political chessboard. |

givedemwotowoto:You are basically putting your presidential hope on if this, if that. Same if this and if that you people were putting forward in 2023 and you lost massively. No big political figure will support Peter Obi in 2027 because:- * Peter Obi is tainted because of his anti Islamic stand as a result of his leaked audio claiming a religious war against Muslims * Peter Obi has shown extremely low levels of intelligence |

Habbeyy:It's hard to see any strategic leadership here—Nigeria is deteriorating under his watch. Where does Tinubu expect to secure genuine voter support? Without electoral manipulation, it's difficult to imagine a legitimate path to victory for him. |

givedemwotowoto:The biggest stable politician in the North as for today is Kwaniwanso....and Tinubu Is romancing him. Before analysis learn political calculation. Obi had his chances last election 2023, now he had weak structure now compare to this 2027. No more Muslim Muslim ticket stories. No more health issues lies on Tinubu No more balabulu. No more age problem |

They’ve started deceiving the self-appointed ‘Obidient’ messiah again. Coalition or no coalition, Peter Obi will always lose. He’s an overhyped figure turned into a messiah overnight—thanks to tribal sentiment. Nothing spectacular about this serial party defector, either intellectually or in performance. |

thesolutions:Calling Peter Obi a 'nobody' ignores the fact that he has managed to reshape political conversations across Nigeria, especially among the youth and the educated electorate. This is someone who, without any established political structure, defeated Tinubu in Lagos beating him blue-black, like a common criminal. You may not support or like him, but dismissing his influence as mere sentiment overlooks the genuine desire for accountability and good governance. |

There's a very good point in this in the normal setting but we need to understand to type of person Tinubu is . If he makes his move known this early Tinubu will plant a stumbling block for him. Have you not seen that SDP the coalition wanted to use has started having leadership crisis. fergie001: |

Habbeyy:Fraudulent strategy does not change regardless what you achieve by it. Fraud is fraud. We speak for what’s right. You don’t correct wrong things by doing wrong. Don’t rehash evil. Obi stands for the truth whether he wins or fails. That’s character. It is not for what you gain today, but the principle and discipline you leave to be followed by others! |
