The joke is on you chigo32.

If you think this is not democracy, then relocate to Niger Republic, Burkina Faso or Mali.

He held on tight to religion yet he entertained all shapes and sizes of women and having several illegitimate children with them. Is that a characteristic of someone that held tightly to religion?
A big yes.. One can be extremely religious without being morally upright.. Religion involves following a set of rites and codes rigidly....Boko haram members are some of the most religious people in the world who never skip their daily religious rites and practices..

But they won't hesitate to collect arms and money from their political sponsors to help further their cause of mayhem and destruction in the society.

Same goes for a pastor who prays all the time but who won't hesitate to defraud his church member when it comes to a business partnership.

Religion has absolutely nothing to do with morality or being principled even though it preaches it.. You are the one mixing up the two because I have seen non-religious folks who are more principled, morally upright and compassionate than most religious fanatics.

Women have been dealing with men from the beginning of time....imagine less than 50% of them were actually his kids.
I guess you didn't read well, most of those women came with kid or kids from another men and he Abiola knew about it before taking them in

If Abiola had his way, he would have become King of Nigeria and have over 1000 wives. King Solomon's record would have been broken.

With each passing day, I'm beginning to understand why the khaki guys hesistated/outrightly refused to hand over power to the socalled democrats. They knew they were just as morally bankrupt, shady, corrupt, clueless, incompetent, and selfish. Just some opportunists who saw they stood no chance under a military/monarchy system hence pushed for democracy.

It seems most of you didn't read the long epistle before commenting. Now I'm not saying women haven't been scamming men since time immemorial.
But what the write up said is: most of the women throw themselves at MKO and most came with kid or kids they had from other men who couldn't take care of them and now needs MKO's support and care. And MKO himself knew about it and accepted and marries some of them. So in essence, MKO slept with and marries some of them knowing fully well they have children from outside. And after marrying them, what do you expect the children from outside to call themselves? MKO's children of course. It's just that with time such as his death, the weath will be separated from the shaft.

One can be religious and at the same time a SINNER.

NIGERIA HERSELF IS A RELIGIOUS COUNTRY BUT FULL OF SINNERS!

They should also conduct a written pre-dna exam for all the claimants before proceeding to the actual dna test.

So you can ask your neighbor ‘abeg number 16, what was daddy’s favorite song?’ And your neighbor be like ‘Amuwo Odofin by Kollington Ayinla’.

Then your neighbor asks ‘number 11, what was daddy’s hobby in his spare time?’ And you be like ‘So after seeing over 5,000 children writing this exam with us, doesn’t that give you an idea of his hobby?’

Oga you are the one that did not read well. No one is arguing whether some of the women were married before or came to him with other people's kids, but it is specifically written that about "120 children came forward to say they were MKO’s children"...that is explicit, it is also explicit when he says only 55 passed the DNA test.

What did you expect when you marries someone with another child or children from someone else's. Those children will automatically called you their dad. It's only death which now happens that will separate the weath from the shaft which is why 66 of the children weren't his.

Every religious person chooses the tenet(s) to focus on. That's how it has always been. Note that he was also keeping one of the pillars of Islam by helping women that flocked to his house to beg for sustenance.

what has womanizing got to do with being a good leader? Did he not take care of his numerous children?

It is irritating to hear people say that it's because of Abiola or that Nigeria's democracy is synonymous with Abiola as if prior to Abiola, there were no people fighting or who fought for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.

I'm in no way denigrating his contribution.

Islam supports having wives as you want and even get married to divorces, he still acted in line

That's a brilliant summary. If the abiola that they are crying for had been president Nigeria would go broke.

This were some of the things the military saw.

Please what are you enjoying here...this lawless and corrupt country is what you call "enjoy democracy" ...

Abiola did not do anything for Nigeria to deserve the praises ...he was a friend and business man to the military dictators...he contested election which was conducted by a body...he declared himself winner without official pronouncement ( which is a treasonable offense) , he was arrested and detained...he died in the custody of the government... please how the hell did he help Nigeria ? ....if June 12th is to be celebrated, the people who organized the so called free and fair election should be praised and not the contestants...
