Take the 2023/24 season you mentioned, for example—he scored 20 goals in total, with 8 of those being penalties. In the Premier League, he managed 9 goals, 4 of which were from the spot.

Let’s not forget that our main issue has been converting chances in open play, especially in the Premier League. Based on the numbers he’s produced so far, there’s little to suggest he’ll outperform someone like Madueke or Neto in that regard—and that’s my main concern with his signing.

Of course, he could come in and prove to be a smart acquisition over time, but that remains to be seen.

Petrovic should fight for no1 spot or anyone but Sanchez. Maresca needs to trust Nkunku more but he needs to sort his work rate. We're stacked in every dept already.

or Palmer becomes our first choice at lw with gittens as back up. Seeing as neto and madueke do well at rw and with estevao we would have 5 wingers, palmer can still play midfield though but we are still yet to see and understand what maresca wants to do with santos

Enzo and Neto are players i have soft spot for, so it is difficult for me to criticize them. You could see in their eyes that they want to win for the team; i love players who want to win for the team.
