A Nigerian entrepreneur’s dream of showcasing her brand internationally was shattered after she was detained and deported from the United States upon arrival — despite holding a valid visa. Her emotional story, now viral on social media, has sparked deep sympathy and conversations around visa transparency, social media usage, and the challenges young business owners face abroad. There was a report released by the American Embassy in Abuja which claimed Nigerians top the list when it comes to lying and deceit/misinformation regarding Visa applications and it seems true. |

A B1/B2 visa is for temporary visits — business meetings (B1) or tourism/medical reasons (B2). You are not allowed to work, receive payment from a U.S. source, enroll in school, or engage in any form of employment or long-term stay. Misusing the visa for work or business transactions can result in visa cancellation and affect future U.S. travel. Always follow the terms of your visa to avoid serious immigration consequences. |

They will say de*th to America, de*th to Israel on social media but will still go to those Countries to Hussle. You can't try that in China. They will track and deport you without any noise. |

Eyah Nigerians too like anyhowness . B1 visa is limited to business meetings, negotiating contracts and not actual business activities that will earn you money like the trade fair she was coming to do. A clear violation of her visa. Nigeria deported a Zimbabwe pastor on tourist visa who participated in the methodist church elections last year https://punchng.com/nis-deports-zimbabwean-bishop-over-methodist-church-election/?amp

1. She didnt have a "valid" visa. She had a current visa incompatible with the purpose for which she sought entry, 2. Misrepresentation... she earned herself a 10-year visa ban. 3. As usual with the Nigerian, the devil is needlessly blamed for a problem she willfully caused, while invoking 'god', who is fine with a little white lie here and there. |

Cleanmouth:How many Nigerians have you seen or heard chant "de*th to America, de*th to Israel" on social media. Yes, many Nigerians don't support US policies on how the treat Africans, and Israeli policies on occupied lands, that's not tantamount to wishing de*th to America and de*th to Israel. So the US wants to control our thoughts and minds before the grant us visa? So we must support every US policy before they deemed us fit to visit their country? Maybe they would start demanding we show support for LGBQ before they grant us visa to visit the US. Land of the free indeed. Mind you, in this case, I don't blame the immigration officers for deporting this lady. Lying, dishonesty and deceit are cultural norms in Nigeria, we tend to lie, even when it's unnecessary. Here are some examples of cultural lies; when we are poor, we say we are rich, when we are sick, we say we are strong. We lie in Visa applications when it's is utterly unnecessary. |

She ought to have applied for an E1 visa. That is the visa used for trade purposes. This would have tallied with her purpose of visit. |

There's this very short Muslim woman on X who used to berate US and US government. She has now gone totally silent after Trump came back and she was visited by the FBI. The weyrey folded at the thought of being deported back to Nigeria. |

wirinet:Obey the laws of USA you will be fine, make sure that you tell them the truth when you attend visa interview, on getting to USA don't overstay.Respect their laws, many Nigerians took them for granted in the past, some travelled to USA with a B1/B2 visa ,on getting their they overstay and want to change it to student visa and many more, note that all this anomalies is what the Trump government is correcting. This is commendable. |
