PulaPower:Actually, it is possible his paperwork is in order. I cannot discount at this point that the woman is the land grabber. The woman has not shown her proof of purchase from the FG as she alleges. You would think she would have done so. If it were my land, I would have shown the proof of purchase not just the cofo. All I can say at this point is that he bought the property in 2011 while he was governor and he owns the property despite what he says. At the very least he is a part owner. |

I did some digging. The story of the land is complex. The man who owned the land died in 1984 intestate and without children. A woman claimed she was a his daughter but actually his niece obtained a letter of administration. The court discovered she wasn’t his daughter but probably his niece. The Lagos high court denied her claim to the property. She appealed and the case was decided in 2017. U fortunately I don’t know in whose favour. You have to pay for the info. The case number is in picture below. What is clear is this 1) she may have been finally granted legal entitlement to the land by the appeal court in 2017 but she had already sold the land in 2011 when the Lagos high court specifically declared she wasn’t entitled to it. 2) Mrs Olorunlogbon has shown cofO but has not shown her proof of purchase from the FG. 3) even if the property belongs to Peter Obi, it was purchased while he was a governor and he has hidden ownership under his company name. Both he and his brothers are shareholders and directors. So not only does he own the property he has control over it as a director. This is the angle our journalists should be investigating. Where the money for the purchase came from.

Putindbutt:Oga you can obtain a COfO with fraudulent documents. It is important she shows her purchase from the FG. I am not here to defend Obi, I am here to defend the truth. Even if it is his land, the timing of the purchase and the manner it was bought (via a proxy company) suggests to me it is money laundering and proceeds of crime. |

Putindbutt:Oga it seems you are the one with an English problem. I am sure you know, I don’t like Peter Obi, I believe he is the devil incarnate so please don’t let your poor English comprehension put me in a position where it seems I am a supporter of a sc umbag like Obi. I am not a blind supporter or hater of anybody. To do that would be to behave like everything I despise about the Obi-dient cult! I am defending facts and the truth. The court will grant you a judgement based on evidence you produce. If you produce a fraudulent letter of sale and nobody challenges it the court will grant your request. There have been allegations that her lawyer is known for land grabbing which is why I need to see her latter of allocation and have revised my position to “I don’t know” since the matter dropped. I reserve my judgement on the matter till I know more. At this point I would like to see her letter of allocation from the FG. Let us not forget, according to the evidence on the Obi side the land was dormant for almost 30yrs, the man who owned it on his document chain it died in 1984. That’s the kind of land that attracts land grabbers. The land grabber could be on either side. I said abinitio, she must have a letter of allocation. I would like to see it. It would have been nice if she showed it. It does not deter from my belief that the land having been purchased in 2011 while he was governor is a product of money laundering. |

Parading a C of O does not validate any invalid title to the land of which the woman claims ownership by virtue of the C of O. If it is true that Obi's brother obtained equitable title to the land in dispute by buying it first from rightful owners, even without registering it at the Lands Registry before the woman was issued with the C of O, his equitable interest in the land cannot be defeated. The fact the woman in question was the first person to obtain the C of O does not render the equitable title of Obi's brother invalid, unless she can prove that she was a purchaser for value without notice of Obi's brother's existing equitable interest. No doubt, legal title ranks superior to equitable title. However, such legal title must be riddled with bad faith or illegality. Therefore, the woman must able to establish that she did due diligence before making payment for the land. Did she conduct physical search to ascertain whether there were occupants of the land? Did she ascertain the nature of their interest in the land, etc? |

TimeManager:how can a state governor issue Obi a certificate of occupancy for land that is vested in the federal government? Please go & read the land use act 1978 & stop exhibiting IG:Norance of subject matter. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brother Releases Document He Used In Buying Lagos Property In 2011 by favor914: 3:42pm On Jun 30, 2025 |
CoachBush:first & foremost paragraph 4 of the deed of assignment is faulty, it falls short of the requirements of the administration of estates law of Lagos state. Secondly that land in GRA Ikeja is vested in the federal government of Nigeria, so it is impossible for the Lagos State Governor to have granted next food any valid right of occupancy. |

casualobserver:ok because on one part, it was said that she is the niece of the intestate, & in that case her root of title will be from her deceased uncle. |

favor914:There are 2 women here. One woman is the one who sold the land to Obi, she is the one with a chain that starts with a man who died in 1984 without a will, while the other woman is the one who says she bought the land from the FG. |

casualobserver:but in the letters of administration used in conveying the land, it mentions that 3 people were granted the administration that was purportedly used to sell the land to next food aka Peter Obi? 3 people cannot be granted letters of administration without will, then only one person sells, impossible, null & void sale ab initio. Don’t know about the other people’s instruments of transfer also claiming ownership, but next food’s claim is questionable. |

favor914:Like I told you the matter get as he be, I have reached the limit of my investigation based on what is available on the internet. I am not a lawyer so I can’t comment on the 3 people issue. I don’t like to comment on things I don’t have an educated or informed opinion on. Regarding your comment in a previous post. All land in GRA Ikeja was originally acquired federal land. Note Ikeja was never federal territory! Once it is sold/transferee it to a party that is not a federal govt agency, it comes under the jurisdiction of state. In both cases according to their stories, any title will be state title. If you buy land from FG you will initially get a FG cof O, then you go to the state to obtain a state cofO. If you bought land that had already been sold by the FG to an individual or corporate body, the next transfer and hence your title would be a governors consent. |

attackgat:Why is the whole of Nigeria being disturbed by this personal case? Can't a whole Peter Obi go and meet the person who sold him the land and collect his money back as indicated in page 2 paragraph "A" of the screenshots here. We have serious problems in Nigeria and this is not one of them. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brother Releases Document He Used In Buying Lagos Property In 2011 by favor914: 4:25pm On Jun 30, 2025 |
casualobserver:the man died intestate in 1984, May have bought the land in the 1960’’s, 70’s, the title was still vested in the Federal Government when it was purportedly transferred to next foods in 2011. The land use act 1978 specifically prescribes that land vested in the Federal government upon the commencement of the land use act, shall remain vested in the Federal government. Federal land cannot under any circumstance turn to state land, unless the federal government secedes it to the state, the root of title will always be traced back up to the federal government. Anyway thanks for your logical contribution. |
