Netflix has been making smart decisions for the past 4yrs in the movie department with grabbing bonafide stars and top directors to their films.
Not the indie crap filled with literal unknowns they're known for.
How is it possible that almost all these movies Netflix poured their hearts into became pristine utmost shite?? They were all crap except Extraction 2.

Here's the full list for those curious of the TOP 100 21st Century movies:

I've watched 38/100..... 😭😭

Basically that's about 38 movies I've watched so far in a possible 76 I would have watched.

More Chris Nolan movies gets in but farther down the list in the top 100: Memento, Inception, Oppenheimer, Interstellar.
I've watched 59/100. 30% of the ones I've watched shouldn't be on the list

Damn..... The perfect casting for Circe. Since Anya Chalotra is Circé in DCU, I don't mind Charlize being Hecate.

Pls Nolan, make it R rated and you'd be my GOAT. 🙏🏽

Lmaoo... like 90% of the films here are so niche... Though i have seen a great number of them, but I can't genuinely recommend many of them, to a casual cinephile, make the person no go naked, swear for me 😩😩.

Again, these lists are always flawed like i would always say, our perceptions of what a really good movie is, is so so wild to be tied down to any list.

I saw "Citizen Kane" (1941) one time, basically to aura farm and say i am into classics, and bro, i almost vomited at the rubbish this movie was serving 😭, i don't remember even finishing it and this is supposed to be one of the greatest movies of all time o...oh please please please!

Only 1 Wong Kar-Wai movie on the list?

Love Exposure (2008) I watched a few weeks ago should be there as well...
Although I think the perverted scenes may have put off some critics...

Some of the movies are probably there due to their effect on the movie industry rather than their writing or directing quality

Slow burn but the pay off is outright worth it.
Maybe it's me, but I prefer The Handmaiden to Parasite...

Although Parasite did have themes that resonated more with society

Mulholland Drive.......8/10

What's with David Lynch's weird style of storytelling? Why is this dude obsessed with dream sequences and ambiguous storytelling.

This is one of the most ambiguous movie I've ever watched seducing me into the story and confusing me once more throughout, even until the end where I began piecing everything together.

It's a pretty slow burn and everyone might not be patient with it. I was beginning to get annoyed after 1hr of watch time and I'm yet to understand what the whole story was about. Even slept off yesterday night after an hour.

Things really begin to kick off from around 1hr25min or so. And then it began a wild ride or what's real and imaginary.

It's a brutal take on living the Hollywood dream.
Wanting to be a successful actor or actress.
Get auditioned. Wow the filmmakers. Get the role. Kill it. And then begin an accomplished career of stardom and success.

It is always sweet dreaming this shït up but reality sets in about the brutal nature of the industry.

I was already cussing the director midway into the film cos I was losing my patience and really needed to get to the juicy part. You might still not understand the movie even after watching the whole thing trying to figure out what was dreamed up or what was reality. But once you fully understand the film you'd begin to appreciate it's story or the whole point to it.

It's a brilliant take albeit a weird and overly ambiguous one.

David Lynch's love for sound score driving his movie is cool but his style of sound design isn't one I'm keen on. I don't really like his sound choices and I just knew I was watching a David Lynch production just by the sound after watching that his atrocious EraserHead movie. 😭😭

I also mostly don't like how some scenes very noticeably in the first 45mins or so where some sounds where higher than normal and some were lower than normal in many instances. It was kinda distracting having to adjust my volume most times.

Top top film, overall. Great acting from the cast....darn beautiful women with a decent dose of pristine nüdity and bööbs. Great film....reminds me of VERTIGO and how films of that era (20th century) were made. Old school directing with mature themes and serious topics, no frills attached and without the nowadays focus on agendas.
I just downloaded this...

Just finished this movie...

The movie is good but Critics calling it one of the best movies of all time must be joking...

On that list there are way better movies...

For a better version of the movie, go watch Perfect Blue.

Both movies have some similarities but Perfect Blue is much better.

The audience rating is what truly matters. Critics ratings of Jurassic franchise have always not been so great, yet the audience end up making it gross highly.

I am speaking from the perspective of a casual watcher, who has no plan of making this filth gross high, that critics score worries me. i leave that to the faithful fans who still think this franchise still has something to offer and trope to cinemas to see it.

The last one was pretty shite but made bank, so i can see why they are still banging on with it, but mannn, this franchise ran out of juice like way back in 2015.

But, hold up! not saying am not seeing it tho 😬, I mean, i am never gonna pass up the chance to see SJ in tigthies in a blockbuster 👀😩, but that will be in a 2 or 3 months time, when it sails 👀💀.

What I don't know is whether Nolan would go fully into the role the gods played in the Illiad or Trojan war. I don't know if he'll go full Greek or tone it down like the previous Troy movie did.

That movie to me to fully bring to life that story we might need about 3hrs of runtime. What led to the Trojan war, the gods manipulating and orchestrating chaos against their subjects and opposition fellow gods, the war, the aftermath of the war and finally Odysseus decades long journey back home.

Or probably Nolan will go for a modern reimagining of what the old movie/TV show did with focusing on Odysseus journey and the mythical creatures.

Anyway, it's a glorious tale to be told and I'm overjoyed Greek mythology is back on the menu. I've begun to tire with all the Roman and Vikings era film and tv shows we've been slapped with in recent years.

One era or civilization I feel Hollywood can tap into and with great potential is giving us Persian or the Ottoman Empire stories. Those stories are also massive and played a role in shaping global civilization.

Lmao why now?? Why you go spoil Citizen Kane like that?? !! 😭😭😭

I don download that film for over a year or two now, but to watch am na problem. You don come add to my fear. I watched Netflix's MANK that's an adaptation of how Citizen Kane came to be and I can put that movie in greatest movie list of all time I've ever seen, despite it being in Black and White.
Gary Oldman became a generational GOAT for me after watching that movie.

Na wetin make me go download Citizen Kane to actually see what the final product was and all the awards and controversy it garnered.

But that behaviour of pretending to be a "true Cinephile" by watching classics, is so on point. 😂😂
I say I wan do Agba cinephile I download "A Space Odyssey" and that film is one of the shittiest shite I've ever seen.... I never still finish that movie till today after watching about 30-45mins I dey fear to go back. But I already know I hate that movie and just believe people who love that movie are just pretentious putting it in the GOAT list.

I no know wetin Stanley Kubrick dey cook for there and I'm not buying it about it being a very different era from now when it was released. 😭😭

I'm sorry to say this but I think In The Mood For Love is somewhat overrated. I know he's a very revered Chinese director but that movie no too gel for me.

It's not bad but I feel it's a tad bit overhyped by folks. Maybe it was because I watched the movie in parts that's what impacted my overall enthusiasm towards the film. I watched like half the movie over a month apart before completing the second half.

Not that the movie was bad or I wasn't enjoying the first half.... It was quite good but something came up and I couldn't finish it and that month after that film I didn't watch films almost throughout the month, so by the time I got back to it, the heat had already cooled off.

I still have like 3 or 4 of his other movies I still plan to watch tho.

There was a time i was actively chasing all the classics.. Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia etc., then i realized there was zero prizes for seeing them, i had to disembark make mid no go wound me 😭.

There are some good ones, but mannn, the stories hold up, but the other aspect of the film making was most times gutter quality, considering film making, now is like, light years above it... maybe people born in those era would appreciate it more, but mann i know where to draw the line, might revisit later on, but make better film breeze blow my hair small 😩😩

Lmao..... I feel you bro. 😂😂

I remember that time when you dey watch those 20th century movies....them 1960 films backwards. you just dey drop reviews back to back I go just dey smile. grin grin

Me sef enter that era I nearly die..... You just here wan useless sharp and abrupt piano sound or percussion sound from nowhere, you go begin dey ask yourself whether person wey edit am dey on drugs. grin grin

Film quality back then compared to now is trash. It's very noticeable in the sound editing, design and film edits. Na once you go just know say na different era you dey.

There's a few gem I got from that time when I was in this "true Cinephile" mode. VERTIGO and A CLOCKWORK ORANGE are the few top tier pics holding up till today I gleaned from that era.

I even create a playlist for those Classics....many I haven't watched till now, there's some downloaded. Na later I tell myself.....I no dey watch again to prove any point to anybody again....na to just watch am out of curiosity or interest I go take run am. 😭😭
