The development followed a palace meeting held on Monday, June 30, 2025, where Oba Oyegbemi declared the Chiefs' actions as unacceptable.

The Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba AbdulFatai Aromire Oyegbemi, has taken action against six of his Chiefs, dethroning them for violating palace protocol and impersonating the monarch at a political event.

Those removed from their traditional positions are; Chief Lateef Ojora (Bale Alaba Oro), Chief Saliu Biliamin (Bale Alafia Dodoro), Chief Taiwo Hassan (Bale Oke Ira), Chief Idris Oladipupo Ojora (Bale Abule Kere), Chief Hakeem Oseni (Bale Mosafejo Amukoko), and Chief Sule Raji Balogun (Balogun of Abule Kere).

The six were accused of attending a Labour Party campaign flag-off event in Apapa without royal approval—an act considered as impersonating the traditional ruler.

In a statement released on Monday, "Following the outcome of this event, which unfolded without his prior knowledge, Kabiyesi Ojora summoned the Bales, Balogun, and the Ojora Councils to his ancient Palace for clarification.

"In a tone marked by disappointment and authority, Kabiyesi stated that the Chiefs' actions were in violation of their duties.

"He reiterated that no Chief should make decisions or act on his behalf without his explicit consent, as they all serve to represent him and uphold the traditions of the land.

"The decisive action of dethroning the six Chiefs underscores his commitment to maintaining order and coherence within his leadership structure.

"During this assembly, Kabiyesi also took the opportunity to commend the present Government ongoing development initiatives in Ojora Land, expressing his commitment to continue supporting the Administration as it fosters growth and progress for the Kingdom.

"This event has reaffirmed the significance of transparency and collaboration between the traditional authorities and their representation in political matters, reminding all Chiefs of their responsibilities while serving under the esteemed Ojora Kingdom," the statement said.

"During this assembly, Kabiyesi also took the opportunity to commend the present Government ongoing development initiatives in Ojora Land, expressing his commitment to continue supporting the Administration

Why didn't you state in the headline that they went in capacity of chiefs and not private, why didn't you state that they were impersonating the king, acting as his representatives without his knowledge.

The Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba AbdulFatai Aromire Oyegbemi has done a good job. Royal father's should be neutral.

They should never be allowed back to their post so they will strictly face and concentrate on politics.

You too also forgot to let us know the exact action the chiefs took/said in the meeting that made them behaved as if they represented kabiyesi, if you can read between the lines and without bias mind, you would see that Kabiyesi only being selfish and acting beyond his boundary,( just like oba of Lagos did few years ago)...let say, they even represented kabiyesi as he claimed, is the punishment not too big for the offence they committed?
