i just received a regret message on well operations integrity Advisor, my status changed on 27th to application under review, and this afternoon i received regret message. NOTE: i did not write the test for this role i only wrote the test for Process Technician, and my status remains Application Received.

from my understanding if your application is in Received Mode wait they are doing the screening based on field it will come to your turn, so more regrets are coming and more interview call ups as well.

Everybody who received the interview invite has his/her status first changed to application in progress. Or is there any exception?

I am yet to see anybody who received the interview invite with application under review status.

Key observations from the feedback so far:

There are at least 4 statuses:

1. Application Received

You submitted your application, and it was accepted by the system. Application stored. May or may not have been reviewed yet. Does not mean you are out of consideration.

2. Application Under Review

Someone or something is looking at it. Application eligibility reviewed and/or test completed—pending further evaluation. Intermediate status.

3. Application In Progress

Possibly means you have passed key filters (eligibility, test) and are queued for next phase (e.g., interviews). Strong positive signal.

4. No Longer Under Consideration

Rejection (final).

Additional points to note:

No guarantee of email notification when status changes.

Emails can be sent independently of profile status updates.

Status can remain “Received” indefinitely even if you are rejected.

Status can change before or after test invitation.

🔍 What can we reasonably predict from this?

1️⃣ Status Updates Are Not Always Synchronous With Decisions

The system may bulk-update statuses at intervals (e.g., once a week or two weeks).

Status changes can lag behind the real decision (e.g., you were rejected last week, but your status is still “Under Review”).

Prediction:
✅ A status change does not always coincide with real-time decision.
✅ “Application Received” doesn’t necessarily mean your file hasn’t been looked at yet.

2️⃣ The “Under Review” Status Appears Flexible

For some, it updates before the test—meaning the application may have been screened and moved forward administratively.

For others, it updates only after test completion—meaning the test result triggered the change.

For some, it never updates, possibly due to:

Batch processing delays

Manual review queues

System integration lags between ATS and test vendor

Prediction:
✅ “Under Review” is an intermediate status reflecting either:

Initial eligibility screening completion, OR

Test completion receipt. It is not a guarantee you passed the test.

3️⃣ Regret Emails May Be the Most Reliable Indicator

Because they are triggered by a final rejection action, they seem to be more consistently sent.

Success emails are less predictable (sometimes only sent after multiple internal approvals).

Prediction:
✅ If you get a regret email, that is definitive, regardless of your profile status.
✅ If you don’t, your status alone is insufficient to conclude outcome.

4️⃣ “In Progress” Is Probably Reserved for Confirmed Next-Phase Candidates

Fewer reports of seeing “In Progress” suggest it’s used only after all filters are passed and you’re being moved to interview scheduling or similar.

It’s likely more reliable as a positive sign.

Prediction:
✅ “In Progress” is a strong positive indicator, but absence of this status does not mean rejection yet.

Important:

Emails are more definitive than profile status.

Lack of status change = inconclusive.

This variability is common in multinational ATS systems integrating multiple workflows.

🧠 How you can use this information:

Avoid over-interpreting the status on your profile.

If you haven’t received a regret email, you are still technically in process.

Be patient! Don't rule a verdict on yourself.

They've not attended to that role and If there's anyone whose application is in progress presently has been scheduled for interview this week.

What has taken effect since yesterday till now is regret mails to applicants who weren't called for interview for the roles this week. So if you haven't recieved regret mail by now and your application is still showing received it means they haven't started reveiwing that role. Once review for that position commences it would change to under review.

So what I'm saying is that everyone who applied for the positions listed for interview this week have either recieved a regret mail or success mail.
You are still in the race. Don't worry yourself.

Not true mate. A whole lot of EH applicants status are still showing "Application Received" "Application Under Review" they are not just talking. Like earlier mentioned in the comments above they are treating this in batches, and series of screening is ongoing based on years of experience, experience in the applied position, certification and variable as per job description. Let's keep hope alive, as far as no regret mails received, you are still in the race.

You are very correct. As a matter of fact, the interview are in batches and engineering will mostly happen next week with invite coming in this week.
After test, CVs of candidates were pull from the portal and reviewed which can cause the status on your profile changed, then list will be submitted for interview invites based on the outcome of the cv review.
Some roles are yet to review CV so your status will still remain as recieved. The sad truth is max slot per role is 2 and most roles are just 1 person so competition tight.
But in all, nothing can delay God’s timing.

He's right, for the recruitment last year, only one EH Electrical engineer was recruited

This recruitment takes a different toll from last year's. Though I don't know the number of persons needed per role, the truth is that ExxonMobil needs personnels. Hence, the need for the many roles rolled out.

The recruitment is for their deep water operations facilities, Erha and Usan FPSOs. Quiet a number of persons would be needed as the work rotation is 21/21 days.
