Hmm 🧐 he makes some salient points here. Nigeria police aren't used rightly by our government ruling us.

Because that's who the people fear the most. The day each citizen come together say enough is enough is the say politicians start fearing the people apart from that I think the politicians are using jazz to keep the citizens quiet. With what people are going through and the people are only just shouting it must be jazz those missing body parts and bodies are working.

Nigeria is badly structured in every sector especially to favour the elites.

That's what i keep saying. Police is doing the jobs of bodyguards. In sane countries, police don't protect an individual because you can afford that. It's the job of private security agencies.

Instead of politicians to work and bring insecurity to a reasonable reduction... They'd rather beef up there own security and leave citizens to their fate

Is it today you knew the citizens of Nigeria are on their own? The security agents are only there to protect the criminals from the people they are misruling.

Let the Government come up with an arrangement to grant private security agencies licence to offer VIP escort while arms bearing by them should be strictly monitored.
I have seen some houses in V.I, Ikoyi and Lekki where you have upwards of 40 mopols in a compound.

There are cabals behind that arrangement in the Police. They call it special duty, earning salaries from the Government while doing private work. An inspector I was acquainted with has been on special duty since 2011 working with a retinue of VIPs. Dude makes so much cool money monthly while sharing his police salary with dem Ogas in the office

They are even terrorizing the civilians. if you drive your car on Nigeria roads, police will wicked you and collect money from you by force. If I’m lying just try and drive from ph to Abuja.

It depends on the politicians but yes they protect politicians more.

There has been killings all over the country all they do is to extort money from motorists and carry ballot boxes for rigging.

See happening in Ogoni land, their gari is one of the best in the state, but because of attacks by bandits on their farms they no longer produce gari.

The problem is, we do not fund the police to protect civillians

Our police budget is about 1 billion dollars. One city in America spends 10 times that in a year on its police force. Yet, we expect the NPF to perform like American police...

Saner climes also spend billions on things like records, databases, etc. Nigeria? Probably not up to enough to do criminal databases.

Then there are things out of the police control. Like we have crowded prisions because of awaiting trial people. We don't train enough magistrates, and so forth...and then we sit down and wonder why police are shooting people without trial...because they have no where to house them

I mean , think about it. A lot of POW's died in WW2 because their captors had no where to keep them. Yes, including POW's in US captitivy and POW's in Russian and German captivity.

When I shout that Nigeria does not pay enough in tax, people come and abuse me like little five year olds on the playground. (There's a thought...maybe there are five year olds on this site , lol). We need something like at least 300-500 bn dollars in revenue before we can talk. ALl this short termisim and chop chop and corruption and refusal to move from oil is killin us badly. And secession is not going to solve the issue...and we know it.

We don't have youth rehab, we have bad secondary schools, we have poor revenue from oil, we don't have an industrial economy....and we come and make surprised faces when the result...BOko, herdsmen, esn, even kidnapping and violence, ritualism, communal clashes...happens. And you come and abuse people for trying to think out a solution.

Anyway, make we dey continue. 1.7m bpd will make us greater than America.

The policing system needs a overhaul, police have become traffic agents and debt collectors, using their public service office to intimidate people. Most of these police inspectors always intervene in contract disputes, due to sentiments, they victimise people just because their brother, colleague or friend complained to them, when it has been clearly established that matters of contract disputes are court issue, because a police man does not have the authority or skills of a judge.

Police work is to detect crime and pursue criminals, guarding the members of the public, police is not a judge to decide right from wrong, their job is to focus on stopping crime, not trying to judge in civil matters...this will help them focus on serious criminality, like terrorism, armed robberies, thuggery, vandalism, extortion etc...

Everyone will blame politicians but Nigerians are all two face people that talk with both sides of their mouth.

It is just typical Nigerian behavior and characters without money and power in Nigeria most people won't respect and take you seriously even in a family in Nigeria if you are poor as a man your family members including your parents won't take you seriously.

Policemen are typical Nigerians before they got their job so you suddenly want them to change after getting the work? In fact you don't have to be a politician for Policemen to treat you well in Nigeria you just have to be rich and they will kiss the ground you walk on
