One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X account on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 to address those criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for offering scholarships to students in Saint Lucia.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking in St Lucia, stated that a scholarship program for Caribbean students will commence in Nigeria next year.

Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani said those criticizing the decision of the President need to be enlightened.

He said the countries that have been giving to Nigeria too have their own problems yet, they chose to render help. The former Kaduna lawmaker said giving should not only be when it is convenient.

According to Senator Shehu Sani on his official X account;

"When Nigeria offers scholarships for St Lucian students to study in Nigeria, I read comments from people who thinks we should not give because we have our problems. They need to be enlightened that all the countries that give aid, grants and scholarships to Nigerians also have their problems".

Look at what a grown up man is saying, public schools in Abuja has been on strike for months and the president went to another country that is better than is and gave them schorlarship and this goat wants us to keep quiet.
Shehu sani don't worry 2027 is around the corner.
We shall meet at the junction.

The moment you take sides in politics, you start sounding like aturu! Since Sani's name was mentioned in an ambassadorial list, he started looking for logic to support everything this government does.

I am not surprised.

Since they gave Sani that appointment, he has become Reno's assistant.

Shehu Sani should point out any country that gave us financial aid,at a time such country was adjudged the poorest country in world.In our own case, Tinubu is granting scholarship to St Lucia's children at a time Nigeria was adjudged to have the highest numbers of out of school children in the world. Even FCT Abuja public school children are all at home because of lack of needed funds.
The truth is that Tinubu is not a selfless leader,he was honoured with the highest title in St Lucia,so he used Nigerian taxpayers money as a token of his appreciation for the award bestowed on him.

St Lucia of 170,000 people is “better than us”?

You might as well say that Abakiliki is “better than Nigeria”, so no money should go there. All money should go to Sokoto and Bornu.

Agreed?
