How Tinubu Destroyed His 2027 Reelection Chances - Lesson For Next President by franchasng(op): 3:39am On Jul 03, 2025
It is funny when a lizard thinks and sees himself as a crocodile.

Tinubu became Nigeria's President through the help of Northern Nigeria political elites.

The first person that gave Tinubu's 2023 Presidential ambition life was no other person but Mallam Nasir El Rufai who single handedly convinced Northern Governors to allow Presidency go back to Southern Nigeria and also convinced Buhari to stop the emergence of former Senate President Ahmed Lawan as APC Presidential flag bearer.

After El Rufai's masterstroke, comes that of Aisha Buhari who convinced her husband to support Tinubu for the sake of posterity, as insiders revealed that Aisha reminded Buhari of how Tinubu played key role in his emergence as President in 2015. According to those very close to both Aisha and Buhari, they said Aisha Buhari's continuous emotional appeal to her husband made Buhari confused because Buhari never wanted Tinubu to succeed him, but with Aisha's constant pressure, Buhari became confused and decided to remain neutral.

The North never wanted Tinubu to emerge President but they were helpless in the sense that if they refused to support Tinubu, the Presidency would slip into the hands of the opposition, which is a Haram in politics; it is better to allow power remain in your party than go the opposition way. For this singular reason, all the Northern APC politicians decided to work for Tinubu hoping that Tinubu's health would fail before the end of his first tenure so that their brother Shettima would take over from Tinubu like Goodluck did from Yaradua.

This paved way for Tinubu.

Next, the INEC Chairman Yakubu.

This man did the final job for Tinubu

Without Northerners, Tinubu stood no chance as he was already preparing to decamp to SDP his spare car should the APC Primaries failed to favor him.

Despite all the help from the incumbent government to Tinubu, Tinubu still failed to clinch the required vote because of his Muslim-Muslim ticket and his notorious personality as a Lagos political godfather which many Nigerians despise, INEC had to breach their election promises by switching off the polling unit result upload for only Presidential election results just to give room for results to be manipulated manually in favor of Tinubu, at the end, Tinubu was declared winner against too many odds.

Instead of Tinubu to surprise Nigerians and shut the mouth of his former critics by delivering quality leadership as an unpopular President, Tinubu allowed political sycophants and their praisesinging to get into his head and he started seeing himself as a demigod bigger than Nigeria. Tinubu became too arrogant to a fault and started seeing Nigeria as his newly conquered territory after Lagos state.

He talks with absolute arrogance and unleashed arrogant media handlers and social media influencers and support groups who kept rubbing Tinubu's demigod status on the faces of all Nigerians, as they bragged that nobody can challenge Tinubu, while some even hailed Tinubu as the god of politics who is only second after God himself, you can imagine the arrogance and effrontery angry

Next, Tinubu in his own hallucinations forgot the Northern politicians that made him President and decided to take Buhari's nepotism to a whole new level in his own regime by stuffing his Yoruba tribesmen into every key and viable political positions in Nigeria. It wouldn't have mattered if these people he was busy appointing into all available positions were performing, Nigerians wouldn't have cared much, but they were not performing at all as the economy sank deeper and deeper while Tinubu's team used media to lie to themselves that all is well, that soon Nigeria will become Dubai.

Tinubu's continued directionless policies continued to worsen Nigeria's economy, more Nigerians got pushed into poverty and Japa became the greatest achievement of every Nigerian, those in the healthcare sector started looking for any available country to migrate to at any cost just to evade the dying Nigeria's economy under Tinubu.

When opposition complain, Tinubu's hired social media and Internet data team countered them and shut them down with demeaning words, boasting that whether they like it or not, that Tinubu will be reelected and after Tinubu, he would single handedly install his Vice or National Security Adviser as the next President to continue with his so called master blueprint to turn Nigeria to Japan cheesy

Tinubu then worsened his political woes by betraying Nasir El Rufai, Buhari's bloc while shunning the Southeasterners completely as he and his supporters always bragged that Easterners have no say or weight in Nigeria's politics. Tinubu started seeing Wike as the biggest political asset that he needs to succeed politically and therefore, he only needed to do a coastal highway from Lagos to SouthSouth, award pipeline security contract to one of the strongest Niger Delta ex militant leader Tompolo to win the SouthSouth, while he did one or two things in the Middlebelt hoping to also win that region.

Re: How Tinubu Destroyed His 2027 Reelection Chances - Lesson For Next President by franchasng(op):
Tinubu and his arrogant supporters forgot that in Nigeria, for any politician to emerge President, he must secure the majority support of two major regions in Nigeria; North and Southeast or North and Southwest, it is what it is.

Tinubu in his arrogance and pride, forgot how he became President through the help of the North and now he has allowed the North to reunite with the Southeast; the two regions that have always controlled the outcome of Presidential elections in Nigeria until 2015.

In summary, how did Tinubu destroy his political future?

1.) Arrogance and pride
2.) Extreme tribalism and nepotism
3.) Relying so much on political sycophants and propagandists
4.) Miscalculation still based on arrogance
5.) Poor economic policies that impoverished most Nigerians
6.) Removal of subsidy on petrol and floating of Naira at the same time when we are not yet ready for massive export
7.) Sidelining Northerners that rigged him into office in 2023 and falsely believing he made himself President

Composed a novel and still struggling to make sense.

Anyways, His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) remains unperturbed by the gathering of political prostitutes!

2031 is guaranteed!
It is becoming very clear to those that are very closer to Tinubu that he cannot be reelected in 2027.

The rigging you guys are banking on, remember, you rig when you have the popularity and mercenaries plus enabling environment.

Tinubu have lost the popularity already as a result of extreme hunger, hardship and unexplainable youth unemployment plus rising insecurity.

Tinubu is losing the Northern backing that made 2023 rigging possible for him. Rigging in the North and Southeast during Presidential elections when they have a preferred candidate is usually very difficult.

Many Governors will be in APC and still work against Tinubu silently.

As soon as the coalition party gets it right in unveiling a consensus Presidential flag bearer without implosion, then Tinubu is gone no matter the rigging cos it won't work and if he dares, it will backfire, Nigeria will be engulfed by political crises or even revolution.

You guys pushed Tinubu to political destruction with your arrogance and foolery

Tinubu WILL "win" despite losing due to diligent rigging by the elite. Then SC will uphold his reelection. There will be riots which will be supressed

Re: How Tinubu Destroyed His 2027 Reelection Chances - Lesson For Next President by AMINDA:
I keep saying that Tinubu lost his re-election bid the day he humiliated Elrufai and let him slip from his grip. Asides from Elrufai being a very formidable foe, you don't do that to someone whom gave his all for you. At least, not to a respected politician from another region. It was treachery and betrayal and should not be coming from a President. That move singlehandedly made the North to distrust Tinubu. Even Northerners who didn't like Elrufai became sympathetic to him. Tinubu's re-election campaign promises will be viewed with same distrust because he has now earned a reputation as someone who never keeps his word. A costly mistake!

ALL THE SOUTH- SOUTH governors, including Fubara will work against Tinubu. The only exception will be Okpebholo, that if the Supreme Court will not throw him away. In the SE, Tinubu stands no chance. Those banking on governors should ask themselves how many votes Uzodinma got for Tinubu in 2023.

Buhari won reelection simply because Southwest refused to accept that Buhari was a failure when Igbos were screaming it, instead Southwest continued to throw their full support behind Buhari, and even praising him that he was working, so it was more like Igbos were the only ones criticizing Buhari's regime, this made the rigging possible for Buhari.

But Tinubu's regime is being condemned by Northerners, Igbos, youths (out of increased hunger and unemployment), the elderly and virtually all class of Nigerians except few people benefitting directly from Tinubu's failed government plus his oh-yes Yoruba APC members/supporters

Those elites all know themselves and when convenient, they cooperate. Rigging works when you’re competitive, not when even the policeman at the polling unit also wants you to lose

There was this hope that Buhari used his first term to settle the people that helped him win, and will unleash the man in him when he’s not seeking reelection. Tinubu doesn’t have that.

Indeed. They will never learn and this is why they remain so childishly excitable and terrible at politics.

Same people before the 2015 elections, since they ignorantly believed GEJ an invincible god that cannot be deposed, shouted "Fulani will never rule Nigeria again" here on NL and everywhere else. I think we all know what happed after that naive noise.

Today, they are at it again because a group of desperado have formed a coalition and taking a few optics-satisfying pictures for those easily excited by visual stimuli whereas politics is about much more.

Tinubu has almost infinite power to defeat these deperados in 2027 ,especially as they have shown their hands and faces early, with a cross-range of approaches to include political strategizing, socio-economic achievements etc, etc.

Again, pertinent to mention Tinubu is not GEJ as it is also important to remind many that initial gra gra, from those most prone to getting carried away to be shouting "Fulani will never rile Nigeria again", usually always ends in tears and failure.
