So its a new month and ready to jump into something new in a self taught manner and tracking my progress here, i have always wanted to do this and now is the time, no more later.

Nothing much day 1, just make up my mind, two hours commitment daily, my andriod phone and a pen , paper and data.

My learning documentation begins...

Day 2.Outcome:

2d Animation is what I want to learn
I dont have laptop, no desktop,
No prior knowledge in drawing,
But motivation speaker don ginger my swag....with what i have is enough

I have andriod device of version8
I have 2hrs daily commitment
I have data

After several options and reviews, flipaclip came 1st, followed by Animation Desk and last was rough animator while krita was disqualify!

Set my andriod phone on and warmup flipaclip with basic practice.

All these stuff....i never dey start animation o!

So, this is going to be the task, animate it to begin a level 1 animation.

Things are getting excited here learning animation step by step in a professional way.

Animation production pipeline, preproduction stage, script writing , thumbnailing/storyboard!.....just like that!

Alot of learning curve here and the heat is on.


After several compression to verylow quality, it got uploaded, hmm. Prepare to see the final work on youtube or tiktok.

I wish flippaclip has off canvas drawing ability
I wish flippaclip has unlimited layers
I wish flippaclip can have group layers

I wish flippaclip can have inbuilt camera

Day 12-15: End of Level 0. (Personal task to practice Completed

Took crash challenge on mobile phone video editing for the personal task practice.

Repeat fresh 213 frames drawing and painting and animation of the flying bird for pressing yes without reading, na so bird layer disappear, this action cant be undone...omo!

Happy the work is done atlast!

Animation they swweeet to watch but the work no be here!

This is the overcompressed version of the file in a very low quality

Update...each time i see this fish....point and kill fresh barbique just the cloud my taught, nevermind....its all about animal right and the obedience to thou shall not kill.

Day 20 update

Kitchen Chimney.(update)...i just discovered this wasnt there, so the file has been uploaded.

Composition, camara movement, rule of third,efx animation.....just like that!

Compressing the files to the least acceptable size is becoming an extra delay work with loss in quality and size, so enjoy like that.

I should have waited for this after my level one passover but on a second taught....every day is worth celebrating says another motivation quote

To go beach the hungry me, so i had to give myself a sight treat, why go when you can animate it...lol!

I dont know why the speed when to x3 after conversion and compression.....oh i know, i did not check default frame rate while converting, all the same...

Day 32: celebrating 30days of self learning

How time flies....1month into 2d frame by frame animation self taught journey.


My quick takes:

1. It is not true that you can be an animator in 2weeks or even 1month, so be warned but if you think you want to animate a bouncing ball or what falls within that then one day is more than too much, then by that standard, you are, if that is what you want.

2. It is not always possible to follow personal time table strictly, some times i spent 2hours some times more sometimes less and some days to weeks none, but the key is in doing.

3. They more you do the more it becomes easy and fast, like its becoming part of you already, am still learning but i can say, i know when and where to spot and improve and more

So i have to pause on the effects animation and give attention to a special effect and to appreciate all those following here.
