Na wa sha.

Rip to Diogo Jota 🙏

Meanwhile we should be looking towards Joreel Hato to strengthen our backline.

What's the correct procedure after a blowout?
Jota probably panicked and hit break which automatically swerved him off the road. If only he was calmer and held on to the steering strongly and maintain direction of travel while slowly taking his foot of the gas to allow the car slow down naturally.

Have you experienced a blow-out before??

Even at 80 , you would struggle to control that vehicle, let alone travelling at significantly higher speeds.

This is just terrible news man. Didn't bro just get married??

This reminds me of the hockey player Johnny Gaudreau who also lost his life along with his brother on the eve of his sister's wedding.

Some tragedy is just really hard to compute undecided

Whichever way, trying to stop the car abruptly is the worst possible thing to do. That’s suicide even.

Funny enough early last year I had a blowout while on a journey, should be going around 70-80….lucky for me I was so engrossed in the roasted meat I stopped to buy close by, because I was moving as fast as 180 on that trip and I imagined if that happened when I was on top speed

Its a very tricky situation..

Firstly, it would only take the grace of God not to step on the brake pedal due to shock and confusion....especially when travelling at high speeds.

Even with most cars that are equipped with VSA systems, that marching of brake...na im dey kickstart the life and death struggle.

It's worse if the blow out happens to one of the front tyres

I don't really have an expert solution but from my experience, outcomes are better at speeds at which the vehicle can be controlled to a reasonable extent.

Thin line between life and death at this point. It all depends on the speed. Anything over 90mph, and you are going to flip for sure

Hold the steering wheel firmly. No weaves, no brakes.

This happened to me down the M4 coming from Windsor to London many years ago. I was doing only 85mph. I panicked and touched the brakes, skidded and did 360 twice from fast lane to the barrier in secs, then flipped twice over the hard shoulder.

But bruh..... where you bin dey do 176kph? The M6?

Oh boy you've been in the wars

176 is 110 mph, I do this on M6 between Manchester and past Stoke cos no cameras on that stretch. I fit even touch 115-120 mph sef if road clear. Also most A roads wey no dey get camera. I start to behave around 15 miles out from Birmingham cos camera boku there.

The speed may not be that bad, you can overtake at 120, e no mean say tyre suppose burst like that na. I regularly do 160 km/hr, even up to 176 , does that mean if tyre puncture, it will end me and won't run flat for a while, talkless of lambo that should have the best tyre available
160 km/hr? Where are you flying to?

Anything above 100 mph which is 80 km/hr. OYO

It’s the handling of the vehicle after the tyre blow that’s the real koko. Plenty people like to speed, but not enough people know what to do in situations like that. RIP Jota!
Na grace of God and luck dy fit make man manage situations like that.

You can be brain blank or bereft of ideas in that kind of situation immediately

I lose focus at low speed and can take eye off road. I always believe slow drivers are as dangerous as fast drivers, cos before you know you done bump into their back if you comot eye for one second

When i see articles and videos online telling people to engage lower gears, handbrake rapidly in rythms etc, i just laugh at their theoretical solutions.

Never had a blownout but an experience I had informed my decision never to match break suddenly for any reason.

When I was learning how to ride a bicycle, I was peddling at a high speed and suddenly saw another incoming bicycle, in order to avoid a collision, I applied brake instantly and I flew out of the bicycle and crashed hard against a someone’s kiosk. This was during my early secondary school days and that was when I realized that the physics I hated really have real life application.

una dy try.

Once I see I am on 100Mph , I dy comot leg for acceleration. Nobi say Nigeria too get excellent road.

I consider 100Mph okay for me on a v6 engine. E come be people wey dy drive turbo or sports cars.

God abeg

true all you mentioned are applicable but the koko be say at that hit of the moment Immediately, brain fit not process the next best thing to achieve safety.

Naso man dy take go. I am sure jota has been driving and accelerating high normally because he has the experience, before this unfortunate accident.

I agree; however, having the knowledge or experience of what to do when such situations arise increases your chances of survival by almost 50% compared to having none at all.
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 12:07pm On Jul 03, 2025
120km/h is really the happy medium. Recognize that the faster you're moving the less time you give yourself to correct a mistake. Anything over 75-80mph better be sure your affairs are straight cos depending on your life no dey your hand again

I guess that would depend on the speed.

I saw reports that it happened when they overtaking another car, which means they were probably accelerating at top speed.

Then the road surface too.

It could be an assassination of course, who knows?

RIP to him
assasination? Like who would want to kill diego jota

mistakes happen, sad that it happened at the worst time and in an irreversible way

his parents losing two sons, his kids so young such a tragedy. hope he made heaven at least
