Kola Ologbondiyan, a former publicity secretary of the PDP, has ignited controversy by arguing that if Minister Nyesom Wike can remain a PDP member while openly supporting the APC, then other members also have the right to seek alliances outside the party.

During an interview on Channels TV, he asserted, “If the FCT Minister stays in the PDP and supports an APC candidate, we, too, can remain in PDP and look at joining a coalition.”

This statement comes amid rising discontent within the party over divided loyalties and lack of internal control.

Ologbondiyan criticized the PDP’s current leadership for its failure to address these inconsistencies, insisting that only a non-aligned national chairman could restore unity and direction to the party.

He pointed out that the PDP is split between two groups: one advocating for postponing reforms until after the 2027 elections, and another demanding immediate action to revive the party and play a strong opposition role.

The absence of strong leadership, he argued, has encouraged party members to blur political boundaries, which could seriously weaken the PDP’s foundational values.

Ologbondiyan emphasized that ignoring these internal conflicts is not a viable strategy.

He warned that unless the party takes decisive steps to resolve them, the problems will continue to grow.

“Running away from a problem doesn’t solve it,” he concluded, stressing that the PDP’s future relevance depends on its willingness to confront its issues now rather than later.

Atiku will remain in PDP and help destroy it from within. PDP will only present Seyi Makinde and campaign only in Lagos. On the night if election, the battle cry will be "PDP will vote ADC"

Mr man it's clear you guys are the real problem of PDP

Even within the APC .members will remain there and still support the coalition.
