Ondo Senator’s Aide Resigns Over N20,000 Monthly Salary

A political aide, Tunbosun Awe, to the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Ondo state, Olajide Ipinsagba, has resigned, citing the payment of a N20,000 monthly salary.

Awe, who was appointed ward liaison officer for Isowopo Ward II in Akoko North East Local Government Area, resigned in a letter he made public in Akure, the state capital.

He described the monthly remuneration as “a far cry from the current economic reality and the new national minimum wage of N70,000.”

According to him, “This is sequel to the N20,000 monthly salary payment to me, which is against the present economic realities and a far cry from the national minimum wage of N70,000.

This senator must be drag seriously. The 20k is of no value again.

Nigerians are so wicked. Wtf can 20k do for an adult that probably has a wife and children ?

I can't say much BCS many Aides for the politicians don't do any work but just submit your name and get monthly pay. And the laziness of many will make them not doing something else. My opinion sah.

I think this kind of job is a part time job. You are supposed to have a full time job then during election u mobilise for APC asking for minimum salary when you not working everyday does not make sense. I think the 20,000.000 is a retainship contract where by Once u are called to spring to action & mobilise for APC u do it without batting an eyelid.

Do you know the senate or house of assembly or house or representative stipulate how much should be paid to aids and pays the representative accordingly. No repreative should pay less that what was given to him to give to his aides, that's q criminal offense. If your worjer is lazy sack and replace him with people who can do the job, stop giving nonsense escueses

So why wud any sensible individuals defend APC in the last 10 years. Theyve obviously done nothing to Improve the lives of Nigerians. 20k in 2014 will feed you for a month. With a bowl of garri at 100 and 350 naira for a congo of rice. Nobody ever complained of hunger.
