I want to purchase from alibaba and it’s my first time to. I need guidance and what I should look out for and what to know. I am purchasing a car roof rack and it’s about 40kg for the items

If you buy from Mainland China it's be routed via Speedaf, so I'm told.

I never do bother to know where I buy, luckily, I just have my courier to be Speedaf all the time.

If the order is handled by Speedaf, you could receive it in 3 weeks (all things being equal) , but if by other carrier, meaning that the delivery would be routed through Nipost or other means, I guarantee you a minimum of 4 weeks.

The date showing there for delivery is just an estimate! Sometimes, items arrive before that date; at other times, they take longer. What you should be looking at is your "Protection Period" which is 65 days counting from the day the order was placed. If at the end of this period you still haven't received the item, you can then open dispute.
