Did he mention how many years that he worked with the boy? Do you think that all apprentices serve for seven years? You may take you time to check and you”ll find that many serve for far lower.

What justification do you have when a boy of that age took out his boss’s money to purchase four phones worth 1.2 million for his girlfriend - who happened to be the cashier? Does that not tell you that the two of them have been combining to seriously steal from the shop where they work? Do you not know that between them, millions went missing? at the end of his servitude, his boss will rent a shop for him, equip it and give him the agreed amount as severance.
also he knows where to collect goods and payback after selling because of the contacts his boss have exposed him to.

I don't think so. It's an avenue for learning while they work for free by rendering the services they learn. It's also like learning on the go, practical and the more knowledge the more U advance in the trade until U are now capable to be on Ur own (that is Ur master has equipped U with all the knowledge and lessons U need to survive the trade. And then they push with a little capital.

It's quite different from the university. U get admitted, learn practice and all then U are awarded a certificate recognising you for a particular discipline.

U are not paying for the knowledge by bringing in monetary profits for 7 years while still serving and learning. It's why people see it as slavery. Because the apprentice is always exploited during those years of service and it's through the exploitation that they took learn the trade.

There's this hostile workplace structure about it so similar to the slave and master relationship. So in the end they're being used as tools in exchange for knowledge. Cos tools must know him work.

if you want a fix price you go to a supermarket or minimart, as long as you go to open market in Nigeria your bargaining power determines how you buy what you buy. He doesnt need to sell his own stock in his boss shop except if his boss give him permission.
