The very major problem with this herdman ship is lack of education. And in solving this problem is the reason why Tinubu's government created the ministry of livestock separately.

Moving cows from around the country is outdated and not even productive. Where does Nigeria stand in the global ranking when it comes to livestock exportation? Why then, the nuisance and instability that comes with this herdman ship?

The ranching method is the best. Guess what, I have a some friends from some African countries and Europe who live in Nigeria. These my friends have never eaten our own beef. When I asked them the reason why, they say the cows the see in Nigeria are only seen in their vertinaries. Our cows look so sick to care to have a taste of one.

With time, the ministry with bring a solution to this outdated system of rearing cows.

See how dirty the water is. People need to be more conscious of environmental pollution.

It's a canal built to curb constant flooding but unfortunately, the citizens have turned it to waste sites.

Before the construction of this canal, the city suffered severe flooding during heavy rains.

I remember a certain one about 15-20 yrs ago where the flood carried people, property and fell houses. I was driving home from work and a big fence fell two cars away from mine...with many cars affected in bodija estate.

Those were some days.

So it's only a death trap for those who don't heed the warnings, signs and barriers.

Arda1000:
What kind of gutter is that?
That to me is a very dangerous death trap.

Like others I'm dismayed by the pics of those very filthy gutters.
No comment on the cattle issue. That problem has been addressed and not solved for decades.
AI quote:
"The saying "Cleanliness is next to godliness" means that maintaining a clean environment and personal hygiene is a virtuous and desirable quality, often associated with spiritual purity or goodness. While the exact phrase isn't found in the Bible, the concept of cleanliness and its connection to godliness is a theme found in various religious and cultural traditions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam."

The kind of rubbish meat these fulani people feed all of us in this country, na only God dey save us.
No matter how messed up the cows are, must buy since you can never be allowed to import beef into the country,
unless you're fulani. No health certificates, no thorough checks..., just buy whatever the fulani throws at us as meat..

It is easier for a fulani from Mauritania to import thousands of cows through the land borders into Nigeria without any health checks on the cows, than for a Calabar man to import the same cows from say Kenya. Even when they encounter low productivity because of their moribund styles of rearing casttles, and as a result can't satisfy the demands nationwide, we have to starve as we wait and pray for better fortunes the next year.

It is absurd!
Gods, we need import meat again....huh

That's ogunpa cannal expanded and reconstructed during obasanjo era, that place is called molete around late pa adedibu's house (then strong man of ibadan politics).
Nothing will happen to those cows because there's a place where people and vehicles can enter or exit at will, it's my car mechanic place anyway,so I know that area very well even that spot where the photographs were been shot is call iya-anu beer joint.

I think I have my 40 whatever 😅🤣🤣🤣

That is rubbish my dear lady.
Proper sanitation and waste disposal is an alien concept in the average nigerian community.

A community blaming their president for the filth around them. When they eventually change the president, they will pick another clueless felow from their fold to replace him. They will blame that one too, and the cycle continues.

wont it be more safe if a barricade is made alongside the canal?
Flooding current can move things and if one is unfortunately gets in the current at least the barricade can save the person

A country where the president, Bola tinubu, values cows more than human life ..
They are chasing you in Enugu and Abia, and now you are romancing politically with their leaders. Obidients have forgiven El-rufai sins that was known by them as terrorist, herdsman, southern Kaduna killer, religion bigot, body bag etc. He is now the best political pathfinder for obidients.

How many of the cows slaughtered in Nigeria were reared in Nigeria? I bet you don't know. You just want to rant..
What do you know then?
Most of the cows slaughtered in Nigeria come from Guinea, Central African Republic, Mali, Chad and co.. These FOREIGN herders make billions off Nigerians everyday and also contribute massively to the heavy drain on foreign exchange..

Fulanis from these areas move in cows into Nigeria by the thousands, sell, change the whole cash into dollars and disappear through the border pathways from whence they wriggle in, without paying taxes..
Go to the North and do your checks..

What is the definition of importation again?

Cows hardly get drown in moving water.
I think they have a special ability that enables them to move through moving water
Re: Herdsman Leads Cows Into Flooded Gutter In Ibadan (photos/video) by Greattha: 10:04am On Jul 05, 2025
I don't know about now cos it's been years I was there...but I know when it was first constructed, there were protective rails in most if not the entire bank of the canal but some years later, these scavengers started removing the iron to sell as is usually the case when there's no proper monitoring. So maybe everything has been removed. I remember thete were even wide ramps, entry ways/slopes that could convey bulldozers in and out of the canal
I'm not sure but I think it was either JB or RCC that constructed it so it was well done. But trust my people and Govt...no maintenance.

from the picture am seeing there’s nothing protective about the canal,if there’s a huge flooding anyone with car of walking on foot could get swept away easily,I believe it might be these Northern scavengers, they have became menace to anything iron these days in the south, and they aren’t even afraid to enter anywhere or steal anything they see
