It's sad to see people talk about politics when lives are at stake. After Jota's death, no one’s talking politics or blaming leaders and parties. Some of you folks needs a brain reset.

RIP to the deceased
If Americans die of bad roads people will blame the government. Stop fooling yourself

Are you saying that some people are meant to blame the government for their whole lives? Many people take time to mourn and think things over, but some quickly blame the government for everything. Is it their destiny to always blame the government?

Very tragic. May their souls RIP. This is a result of government negligence on the maintenance of road for the motorists.
Secondly,
It's high time govt ban the movement of trailers during the daytime.

That story does not add up at all.

that bus was loaded with food stuff and part of the food stuff was cooking oil as you can see the woman scooping.
That woman will not be scooping anything if any blood was recorded in the accident.
that truck just fell on the bus due to the bad state of the road and i doubt if any life was lost in the process

some people accept whatever they're given, maybe they don't pay taxes, or they have been trained to be docile and not speak up, but others can't be that way. It's that simple, right?

Country of sad news every hour. VIO would not check lorry every year.
Road safety commission would give professional license to people who are not qualified for professional driving.

RIP. You dies because you were in Nigeria.

I passed through that same road a day to the said accident, the state of the road can't be described in clean English, you can't imagine we still have such terrible road In present day Nigeria, when our polithiefcians are leaving in affluence and luxury, simple basic things they can't provide, l wonder where their heart is, maybe under the feet, may the blood of these dead comrades be on their heads, I spit on your faces. RIP comrades in the struggle to survive

You guys should try to read the op before commenting, the obvious cause of the accident is the bad road, not overspeeding.
Bro i will tell you this for free. I deal with trucks, granite and other stuffs. The drivers of these trucks has sent lot of lives to early grave. If he wasn't speeding, how did he veered off the road?

It is because of this kind of mindset that things like these will continue happening, this was clearly an avoidable accident , mourning doesn't solve anything, if you don't call the government out when things like this will still happen!

I want to believe this is what happened and the OP just used a random accident picture to suit his narrative.(piss poor reporting)
No occultic/satanic person would be scooping human blood so openly like that without raising suspicion.

IMAGINE. the Calabar-Itu highway has been undergoing repairs for more than 15 years!
Their people will not see this and hold their governors, their representatives responsible. It is Tinubu all are shouting. We have a long way to go in this country.
The energy they Channel to Tinubu, Buhari, if they channel one tenth to their governors and their representatives the road would be repaired for 15 years. No their people are saints, just because its their people. Tinubu is not from their side.
Re: Trailer Crushes 17 To Death On Calabar-Itu Highway by Nobody: 7:30am On Jul 05, 2025
Sad.
Reminds me of those days confessional tapes and books of ex witches and wizards or occultic grandmasters. Delivered from the powers of darkness. U will hear such stories and they will claim to have orchestrated it to drink blood in their witches carnival or occult world. Those men cash out from those tapes and books that year sha?

Meanwhile 17 people just go once! This must be a coven operation shocked

I do not doubt that some truck drivers are irresponsible, just like some keke, normal vehicle, bicycle and bike drivers are also irresponsible, we are all irresponsible, our vehicle of choice notwithstanding, my point is that this particular accident was caused by bad road not bad driving.
Now for your question, if you look at the picture carefully, you'll see that they are several trench-like parts of the road, the driver must have miscalculated when entering one and fell down, it's unfortunate that the Siena driver was beside him when he fell.

This news is COMPLETELY FAKE. DON'T BELIEVE IT.

There was no such accident on the road yesterday. Old pictures circulating online while people write whatever they like about it.

These trailers and their accidents just too terrible, they usually carry innocent people along most times. Our roads need to be fixed and the drivers need proper skill and mental evaluation regularly before being allowed to drive.
those drivers need to be checked walahi, most of them are too young and are always high on drugs.
Re: Trailer Crushes 17 To Death On Calabar-Itu Highway by lacasera14(m): 9:02am On Jul 05, 2025
When will they complete this road for Pete's sake? This road is the biggest discouragement for many traveling to Calabar and the state is not rich enough to take over from the FG and complete. That road alone had reduced the touristy value of the entire Calabar in favor of Uyo and nobody is seeing it. Nothing beats driving for 1 hour on a smooth paved road to your destination.

This is a very sad story. May God comfort their families.

The FG still remains the biggest enablers of this madness. Nigeria truck drivers are the most heartless human on the highway. They drive and do anyhow at the high way without the consideration of other road users.

The day the FG start holding them responsible with heavy fine I believe all this will stop. They will intentionally caused accident, escape from the scene knowing their company's insurance will pay for the goods only and leave the victims families in sorrow without a kobo compensation.

And that woman scooping the victims blood is for what exactly?
She wants to send it to APC as they need more blood of Nigerians. APC is an 3vil party
Re: Trailer Crushes 17 To Death On Calabar-Itu Highway by ostartruth: 9:37am On Jul 05, 2025
that is the price we have to pay for the SUPER HIGHWAY PROJECT.
Money they would have used to repair dilapidated federal highways, they are spending on SUPER HIGHWAY TO CORRUPTION.
Police self often target such bad spots to collect money from drivers ONLY.

Humans manke mistakes my brother. There are so many bad roads in Nigeria and equally many good ones, but don't forget there are many bad drivers also.

Many transporters have abandoned that route, it is a kill box for trailers.

A monumental shame to the GEJ and Buhari administration that failed to complete the east west road despite billions appropriated for the project.
The former governors of Cross river and Akwaibom share a collective blame for doing nothing about the road just because they can fly in planes.
