20 Reasons Why The Law Of Moses Was Abolished by Ken4Christ(op): 5:36am On Jul 03, 2025
1. The Law Brought a Curse on the Jews

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse (spelt out in Deuteronomy 28:15-68), for it is written cursed be every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of in the book of the law to do them” (Galatians 3:10).
Under the Law of Moses, the Jews got blessed by keeping the law (Deuteronomy 28:1-14) and got cursed for breaking the law (Deuteronomy 28:15-68). History reveals that they couldn't keep the laws and consequently came under the curse. Their inability to keep the laws was because of their carnal nature (Romans 7:14). It takes a spiritual man to keep a spiritual law.

2. The Law Brought Wrath on the Jews

“Because the law worketh wrath, for where no law is, there is no transgression” (Romans 4:15).
A typical example, as mentioned above, is recorded in Numbers 11:1, where the fire of the Lord was kindled against the Jews when they murmured and complained against Moses. Many of the Jews died. In another instance recorded in Numbers 21:5-6, fiery serpents were sent to bite the people when they spoke against God and Moses. In contrast, they were not punished when they committed similar offenses under Abrahamic covenant. (Exodus 16:2 & 17:3). There was no mercy under the Law of Moses; sin attracted the death penalty under the law. (Hebrews 10:28). Stubbornness under the law also attracted the death penalty (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). Also, if a lady loses her virginity before marriage and the husband finds out, she is stoned to death (Deuteronomy 22:13-21). A young man who gathered sticks on the Sabbath day was not exempted from the death penalty (Numbers 15:32-36).
“He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses” (Heb. 10:28). “And the commandment which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death” (Romans 7:14).
When David numbered Israel against God’s will, 70,000 Jews died within a short space of time. (2nd Samuel 24). This is why Paul calls the law, the ministry of condemnation and death. (2 Corinthians 3:7-9).

3. The Law Made Nothing Perfect

“For the law made nothing perfect but the bringing in of a better hope did by which we draw nigh unto God” (Hebrews 7:19).
If the law made nothing perfect for the Jews and it won't do any better for the church.

4. The Law Made No One Perfect

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come and not the very image of the things can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect (as pertaining to the conscience)” (Hebrews 10:1).
See also Hebrews 9:9. What Paul is saying here is that the Old Covenant sacrifices couldn't remove the guilt of sin. So, trying to obey the laws will never take away the guilt of sin. Only faith in the blood of Jesus will remove the guilt of sin.
“For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins” (Hebrews 9:13-14, 10:4).

5. The Law Could Not Give Life

“Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid, FOR IF THERE HAD BEEN A LAW GIVEN WHICH COULD HAVE GIVEN LIFE, VERILY RIGHTEOUSNESS WOULD HAVE BEEN BY THE LAW. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh. And the commandment which was ordained to life I found to be unto death. For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof” (Galatians 3:21, Romans 8:3, 7:10, Hebrews 7:18).

6. The Law Came to Amplify Sin.

“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin but by the law. For I had not known lust except the law had said THOU SHALL NOT COVET. But sin taking occasion by the commandment wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law, sin was dead” (Romans 7:7-cool.

7. The Law Could Not Give the Jews Ability to Live Above Sin.

“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh. God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh. For that which I do I allow not, for what I would, that do I not but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. For I know that in me (that is in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing for to will is present in me but how to perform that which is good I find not” (Romans 8:3, 7:15-18).

8. Under the Law, the Jews Could Not Have Personal Fellowship with God or Approach Him

“And the LORD said unto Moses. Go down; charge the people lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. And let the priest also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves lest the LORD break forth upon them. And Moses said unto the LORD, the people cannot come up to Mount Sinai…” But into the second (most holy place) went the high priest ALONE once every year…” (Exodus19:21-23, Hebrews. 9:7).
“And they said unto Moses, speak thou with us, and we will hear, but let not God speak with us lest we die. And the people stood AFAR OFF and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was” (Exodus 20: 19, 21).

9. If You Break One Law, You Have Broken All the Laws

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10).
There are over 600 laws the Jews had to obey. Deuteronomy 22:5, which most of our churches are using to bring confusion is just one of them. For instance, verse 9 of the same chapter says the Jews shouldn't plant two different kinds of crops on the same farmland. Also, verse 11 says they shouldn't put on garments of mixed fabrics. How many of those trying to obey Deuteronomy 22:5 keep these other laws? If the New Testament Saints were to live by the Law of Moses, virtually everyone would have been guilty of breaking the law. None of us, for instance, keeps the law of Sabbath. Even those who worship on Sabbath days are not necessarily keeping it. No form of work was to be done on it. Not even cooking or clean-ups.

10. The Presence of the Law Brought Condemnation to the Gentiles

The presence of the law implied condemnation for the Gentiles because they were excluded from the covenant. The law stood as a wall separating the Jews from the Gentiles. It also led to hostility between both races, therefore creating enmity. (Ephesians 2:11-16).
Thank God this condemnation is taken away only in Christ;
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1).
The wall of separation between the Jews and the Gentiles brought by the law had been removed:
“For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.” (Ephesians 2:14-15).

11. The Law was Faulty

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. FOR FINDING FAULT WITH THEM, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.” (Hebrews 8:7-cool.

12. The Law Brought the Jews into Captivity to the Law of Sin

“For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and BRINGING ME INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE LAW OF SIN which is in my members. (Romans 7:22-23).

13. The Law could not justify Sinners

“And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye COULD NOT BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW OF MOSES.” (Acts 13:39).

14. The Law Is Not of Faith

You can’t claim any promise under the law by faith. You have to qualify for it by keeping them. Hence, it is written;

“And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.” (Galatians 3:12).

15. Under the Law of Moses, Sacrifices for Sins Had to Be Repeated Yearly

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:1-4).

16. Sins Were Never Remitted Under the Law, They Were Atoned for.

Atonement means to cover. Their sins were only covered. They were not remitted.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” (Leviticus 17:11).

17. The High Priest under the Law Had Infirmities

They had to make sacrifices for their own sins first.
“Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.” (Hebrews 7:27-28).

18. The High Priest Under the Law Could Not Continue by Reason of Death.

“And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death.” (Hebrews 7:23).

19. The Law Was Only for the Jews

“Much every way: chiefly, BECAUSE THAT UNTO THEM WERE COMMITTED THE ORACLES OF GOD.” (Romans 3:2).
Another verse reads:
“Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises.” (Romans 9:4).

20. The Glory under the Law Fades Away

“But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away” (2 Corinthians 3:7).
Due to these shortcomings, Jesus came to their rescue. He died on the cross, bringing an end to the Law of Moses. In its place, He established the New Testament, which introduced grace. Even before the New Testament was fully instituted, grace was gradually revealed during Jesus’ earthly ministry. This is evident in His pardon of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-18). Additionally, many of His healings were performed on the Sabbath, which subjected Him to intense criticism from the religious leaders of that time. (Matthew 12:1-12; John 9:16).

God did not abolish the mosaic law {Matthew 5:17-20} the law was arranged or constructed like a road that will lead faithful people to the Christ {Romans 7:7} Adamic sin brought sickness, suffering and death so mankind needs a perfect human who will lay down his life to redeem us that's why Jesus is called the "last Adam" {1Corinthans 15:45} because through his obedience and faithfulness many will learn from him {1Peter 2:21} so the law serves like a mirror which exposed our sinful state {James 1:23} making us to see how dirty we are with our self righteousness! 64:6

Scripture Evidence That Proves That the Law of Moses has been abolished

Scriptures pointing to the end of the Law are too numerous to be ignored. We will look at some of them in this chapter;

“And by him all that believe are justified from all things, FROM WHICH YE COULD NOT BE JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW OF MOSES.” (Acts 13:39).

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: FOR YE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE.” (Romans 6:14).

BUT NOW WE ARE DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” (Romans 7:6).

“FOR CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth.” (Romans 10:4).

“CHRIST HATH REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:13-14).

“But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER A SCHOOLMASTER.” (Galatians 3:23-25).

“HAVING ABOLISHED in his flesh the enmity, EVEN THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.” (Ephesians 2:15).

“BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.” (Colossians 2:14).

“For there is verily A DISANNULLING OF THE COMMANDMENT going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.” (Hebrews 7:18).

“For the priesthood being changed, THERE IS MADE OF NECESSITY A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW.” (Hebrews 7:12).

“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15).

“Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.” (Hebrews 10:9).

All these scriptures speak for themselves. It will only take a dishonest person to still argue that the law has not ended. Just as we have crooks in the society, we also have spiritual crooks in the church who will twist the scriptures to their own destruction.

The laws weren't abolished according to Christ Jesus {Matthew 5:17} rather God used it to enlighten Israelites of their need to be spiritually clean {Exodus 19:5} and He told them that a simpler to grasp {Deuteronomy 18:18-19} then God presented a model in the person of Christ Jesus {Matthew 17:5} for the whole world.
Now only the Israelites had God's laws but were they ready to learn from it and live in holiness?
The answer is NO! Jeremiah 31:31-34
The constitution that's supposed to make them special people they rejected and continue to question it's Author {Malachi 3:7} that's why the laws aren't in effect right from the day they killed God's Son.
So whoever wants to worship God today doesn't need to go through the Israelites and their system of worship anymore rather such a person only need to focus on Jesus and the group he commissioned.
But as for the law we still need to look at it sometimes when we find it hard to understand certain things Jesus taught because he perfected God's law through his thoughts words and actions!

This is like abolishing God.

Nobody has the right to abolish God's laws. It is for ever. Even when the real Messiah comes, he will be very versatile in it. That is what he will use to judge among nations.

Deut 32: 44 Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people. 45 When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel, 46 he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. 47 They are not just idle words for you—they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

Psalm 19: 7 The law of YHVH is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of YHVH are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of YHVH are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of YHVH are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of YHVH is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of YHVH are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

They are THIEVES!
This same person will quote the law of tithe that's not practiced by Christians yet insisting that God has abolished the law except TITHE! huh

2 Peter 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

Without the Laws of YHVH Almighty, the one and only true God, the Creator of the heavens, the earth, the seas and everything in them, how do you suppose, ken4christ, one would be spotless and blameless before him?

2 Peter 3: 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

The saints should be asking the Father in heaven for the strength to walk in his Laws perfectly.

2 Peter 3: 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

I didn't say there are no more any form of law. I said that we are not under the Law of Moses. We have a new law known as the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. This law is activated by the force of righteousness which we already have as a free gift in Christ. The Law of Moses is a work system and it kills any violator. But Christ ended it and ushered the dispensation of grace. I have a full book on it.

As usual, you pretended as though you didn't see the overwhelming evidence that affirms that the Law of Moses has ended.

But let me help you further. Read slowly the analysis of Matthew 5:17 you quoted below. I dedicated a full chapter to it in my book, "Is The Church Under the Law of Moses?"

CHAPTER TWELVE - What Did Christ Meant When He Said He Did Not Come to Destroy the Law?

During His Sermon on the Mount, our Lord Jesus made a profound statement that is often misunderstood regarding the continued relevance of the Law of Moses to the Church today. He said:

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy the law but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you. Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:17-18)

This misinterpretation of the scripture passage above contributes to the ongoing controversy. Many Christians mistakenly believe that 'fulfill' means Jesus came to enforce the Law. This is absurd, considering that Jesus' ministry was frequently attacked for His non-adherence to the Law of Moses. Let's examine a few occasions when Jesus was accused of breaking the Law:
The Disciples of Jesus Plucking the Ears of Corn on a Sabbath Day
Matthew 12:1-8
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

In the passage above, our Lord Jesus defended what his disciples did even though what they did was as good as breaking the Sabbath. Well, our Lord Jesus said he was not subject to the rule of Sabbath. So, it will be an insane argument for anyone to say that Jesus came to enforce the Law of Moses which he violated several times.
The Healing of a Man Who Had a Withered Hand
Matthew 12:9-14
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

In the passage above, they questioned the legality of Jesus healing on a Sabbath day. But Jesus asked a rhetorical question which they couldn’t answer. He went ahead and healed the man. And they began to plot how they would kill him. This is another clear example of an instance where our Lord Jesus violated the Sabbath. The statement our Lord Jesus made in Matthew 5:17-18 couldn’t be interpreted as meaning that he came to enforce the Law of Moses.
There are many more occasions Jesus violated the Sabbath that space will not permit us to include here. They are contained in the following references which you can read at your leisure time; Mark 3:2, Luke 6:2,7; 13:14; John 5:1-10, 16.
What Then Did Jesus Mean When He Said He Didn’t Come to Destroy the Law of Moses but to Fulfill it?
To destroy the law means to arbitrarily annul the law without following the due process. So, he didn’t use his power as the Son of God to abolish the Law of Moses. He had to fulfill it.
The word 'fulfill' according to the Webster Dictionary has manifold meaning under- listed depending on the context it is used:
To carry out a promise.
To obey a law or command.
To satisfy a prayer or desire.
To accomplish or complete a task.
To answer a purpose.
To comply with conditions.
To prove true a prophecy
To realize a destiny.
We'll take each of this meaning, analyze it, and attempt to correlate it with its usage in Matthew 5:17 as well as other related scriptures.
1. To Carry Out a Promise
Was there any promise under the law or the prophets that Jesus came to carry out? The book of the law refers to the first 5 books in the Bible; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These books are also known as the book of Moses that contains the laws of Moses which actually started with the Ten Commandments in Exodus, Chapter 20. The prophets are all the prophetic books from the book of Isaiah through to the book of Malachi.
In Genesis 12:2-3, God made a 7-fold promise to Abraham and the last of the promise is of particular interest; “in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”

How were all the families of the earth going to be blessed when he had no child as at the time of the promise? God made the promise clearer in Genesis 22:18,

“And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed….”

Apostle Paul revealed to us in his letter that the seed God talked about is Christ (Galatians 3:16). Christ in this context refers to both Jesus and the church. This promise came to fulfillment through faith and not by the Law of Moses (Romans 4:13).
Matthew 5:17 can be paraphrased thus:

“Think not that I am come to end the law or the prophets unjustly, but to carry out the promise God made to Abraham, contained in the book of the law. For assuredly I say to you, you (Jews) must still obey all that the law commands until the promise comes into effect.”

And this promise came into effect with the death of Jesus;

“For a testament is of force after men are dead, otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth” (Hebrews 9:17).

There are several other promises (which of course are a result of the Abrahamic covenant) contained in the Old Testament that were literally fulfilled by Christ. Isaiah 53:4-5 was confirmed as being fulfilled by Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24. The scope of this book will not permit us to list many other scriptures that were fulfilled by Christ. Now that these scriptures are fulfilled, the Jews are no longer under obligation to keep the Law of Moses. So, if the Jews that were given the law are no longer obliged to keep it, then Christian Women shouldn't be made to feel guilty by not keeping the law of dress code as contained in Deuteronomy 22:5 which in any case doesn’t necessarily condemn women putting on trousers. But those troubling the church with this verse of scripture makes it look like it prohibits women from putting on trousers.
2. To Obey a Law or Command
This definition seems to agree with those who assert that Christ came to enforce our obedience to the law. As mentioned in the introductory chapter, scripture must be interpreted in harmony with other scriptures and should not be used to win an argument. If Christ came to enforce the law, He would have permitted the woman caught in the very act of adultery to be stoned to death when her accusers brought her to Him. (John 8:3-11). On the contrary, as earlier stated, His ministry came under intense criticism for His non-adherence to the Law of Moses;

“And they watched him whether he would heal on a Sabbath day that they might accuse him” (Mark 3:2).

Jesus questioned,

“Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath days or to do evil? to save life or to kill? (Mark 3:4).

The Jews adhered to the law of Sabbath to the point that a sick person will be denied medical attention just because they wanted to keep the law. But our Lord Jesus remarked:

“The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath, therefore the Son of man is also Lord of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27-28).

Jesus is saying here that He himself is not subject to the law. He was not born of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God. He however did not use this privilege to dishonour the law but rather used it as an opportunity to do good.
In Luke 13:15, 14:5, Jesus remarked:
“Thou hypocrite, does not each one of you on the Sabbath day lose his ox or ass from the stall and lead him away to watering? Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?”

The Christian Woman who also has received the life of Christ is not subject to the Law of Moses. Thus, the Scripture declares:

“Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (1 Timothy 1:9).

So, the word fulfill in the context used in Matthew 5:17 does not mean to obey a law or command as many Christians had hitherto believed.
3. To Satisfy a Prayer or Desire
It was the desire of the prophets of old to see the day of Christ but so many couldn't. Hence, Peter wrote:

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you….and the glory that should follow” (1 Peter 1:10-11).

Jesus remarked that Abraham looked forward to His days and he saw it and was glad (John 8:56). So, He came as an answer to the desires of the Old Testament Saints even though the Jews for which he came for primarily could not recognize him even up till this moment. Thus, Paul wrote:

“…blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved….” (Rom. 11:25-26).
4. To Accomplish or Complete a Task
Jesus was a man on a mission and he completed his task. On the cross, He exclaimed, “it is finished”. He came to take away the first covenant that He may establish the second (Hebrews 10:9). The Scripture therefore states:

“And for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament that by means of death, FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THE TRANSGRESSION THAT WERE UNDER THE FIRST TESTAMENT...” (Hebrews 9:15).

The Jews under the law have been redeemed as emphasized in the previous chapter. No Christian Woman should be made subject to any law of dress code. What should be emphasized is decency.
“Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why as though living in the world are ye subject to ordinances (rules, laws)” (Colossians 2:20).
5. To Answer a Purpose
The ultimate goal of God is to establish His Kingdom on earth which will be ruled and governed by His principle and not by the Law of Moses which was weak, unprofitable and faulty (Galatians 4:9, Hebrews.7:18, 8:7). Jesus came to bring many sons unto glory (Hebrews 2:10). He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). The Law of Moses couldn't give life. Trying to obey Deuteronomy.22:5 will not make you any more righteous. As it is written:

“…they have no effect when it comes to conquering a person's evil thoughts and desires” (Colossians 2:23, New Living Translation).
6. To Comply with Conditions
Jesus came to deliver the Jews from the curse of the law and the Gentile from the condemnation of the law. The Jews came under the curse (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) because they couldn't keep the law (Galatians 3:10). The presence of the law brought condemnation to the Gentiles because they weren't included- they were strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world (Ephesians 2:12).
But it must be done in such a way that God will not be unjust to Satan, mankind or Himself. There're conditions to be met. No shortcuts. The wages of sin is death, declares Romans 6:23. Blood must be shed;

“…it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul…without the shedding of blood there is no remission” (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews. 9:22).

Satan tempted Jesus to avoid the cross. He told our Lord Jesus:

“…all the power will I give thee, and the glory of them for that is delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will, I give it” (Luke 4:6).

If Jesus hadn't died and instructed the Jews to stop obeying the law, then the law would have been said to be destroyed. Hence, he said:

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven, but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:19,18).

So, the law was to be in place until it was fulfilled (its requirements met). For instance, when a student submits his project work in partial fulfillment of his requirement for graduation, he is free to graduate and move on to the next level of study if he so wishes. Jesus also completed His Project Work, met the conditions needed for the abolition of the law. In John 19:30, Jesus said, “it is finished”. The price has been paid. Hence Paul wrote:

“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW BY THE BODY OF CHRIST that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God” (Romans 7:4).

The other meanings, TO PROVE TRUE A PROPHECY and TO REALIZE A DESTINY are different terms used to explain what has just been discussed in the analyses of the other meanings at No 4 and 5 respectively and their separate analyses will be unnecessary.
So, Jesus did not come to uphold the Law of Moses. His sacrificial death did what the law could not do;

“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who work not after the flesh but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:3-4).

The law told the Jews what to do but didn't give them the ability to do them. But Jesus gave us Eternal Life when he was raised up from the dead. Now, we have the very nature of God in us which is Love;

“For the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost he has given us” (Romans 5:5)

And when you walk in love, you will not violate the righteous requirements of the commandments of God contained in the Law of Moses. Thus, Paul remarked:

“For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour, therefore, LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW” (Romans 13:9-10).

In addition, Galatians 5:22-23 says:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: AGAINST SUCH THERE IS NO LAW.

In a previous verse of the same chapter, Apostle Paul wrote:

“If ye are led of the Spirit ye are not under the law” (Galatians 5:18).

We're therefore not under obligation to do the law, including Deuteronomy 22:5 which of course doesn’t even talk about trousers. Those who prohibit Christian Women from putting on trouser wear on the basis of what they think Deuteronomy 22:5 addressed are ignorant of God's righteousness and are going about to establish their own righteousness instead of submitting to the righteousness of God (Romans 10:3).

“For we are the circumcision which worship God in the Spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh (law). And be found in Him not having my own righteousness, which is of the law but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (Philippians 3:3&9).

Ken4christ, Judaism and Christianity are two different religions. Christianity is not derived from Judaism.
The isrealites have a covenant with God with has to do with them obeying his laws and statues. The Roman/Greek who created Christianity don't have any...they used information gotten from the Jewish laws to create their religion and proceeded to super glued it to the Jewish scriptures....to give it some credibility.
God's laws is for ever.

When people want to lie they start telling an irrelevant long story.
So you typed all these epistle just to say Jesus was wrong at Matthew 5:17 shey?
Well done! smiley

Ken4Christ:

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

And this promise came into effect with the death of Jesus;

“For a testament is of force after men are dead, otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth” (Hebrews 9:17).

There are several other promises (which of course are a result of the Abrahamic covenant) contained in the Old Testament that were literally fulfilled by Christ. Don't let idolatry blind your eyes.....
God's law is for ever...see proverbs 4:1

It is an ever lasting covenant and relationship.

Rome borrowed from Judaism and from ever religion and cult in the empire to create Christianity. Emperor Constantine wanted a single religion for his empire......

The jews did not follow in the new religion. Because they already have a covenant with Hashem ....

John 15: 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

My questions:

1: What has Yahushua the Messiah, whom you refer to Jesus Christ, I suppose, instructed us to do?

2: What commands has he instructed his saints to keep?

Ken4christ, you wrote a complete book on the supposed abolition of the Laws of Moses? Isn't that interesting!

Ken4christ, is temple worship part of the Laws of Moses?

Deut 22: 13 If a man takes a wife and, after sleeping with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,” 15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring to the town elders at the gate proof that she was a virgin. 16 Her father will say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity.” Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, 18 and the elders shall take the man and punish him. 19 They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives. 20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

Is sexual immorality now approved by the Scriptures?

Ken4christ, throw more light on your italicized assertions below:

Just so we get you clearly, what law are talking about?

While you are at it, look at the following:

Psalm 19: 7 The law of YHVH is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of YHVH are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of YHVH are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of YHVH are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of YHVH is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of YHVH are firm,
and all of them are righteous.

Remember the admonition of apostle Peter:

2 Peter 3:2 Peter 3: 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Little wonder why there is no single difference between the lives of those who claim to be the followers of YHVH Almighty, of Yahushua the Messiah, and the others.

They see nothing wrong with all sexual immorality, stealing, lying, cheating, murder, greed, drunkenness, witchcraft, etc. And they like those who polish these sins and the others notentioned here for them.

What the palmist is referring to is moral principles of God and not the law of Moses. There are too many verses and passages that unveils the shortcomings of the law of Moses. Synonyms used in place of the law of Moses speaks volumes. These Synonyms are listed below:

The Yoke of bondage – Galatians 5:1.
The Letter that kills – 2 Corinthians 3:6.
The Ministry of Death – 2 Corinthians 3:7.
The Ministry of Condemnation – 2 Corinthians 3:9.
Dead Works – Hebrews 9:14.
Weak and Beggarly Elements – Galatians 4:9.
Weak and unprofitable – Hebrews 7:18.
Carnal Commandments – Hebrews 7:16.
The Flesh – Galatians 3:3, Romans 8:1.
A Schoolmaster – Galatians 3:24.
The handwriting of ordinances – Colossians 2:14.
Oldness of the Letter – Romans 7:6.
The glory that is done away with – 2 Corinthians 3:7.
The enmity – Ephesians 2:16.
A Yoke – Acts 16:10.
Moses – 2 Corinthians 3:15.
The Law of Sin – Romans 7:25.
The Law of Commandments – Ephesians 2:15.
Middle Wall of Partition – Ephesians 2:14.
An Old Bottle – Matthew 9:17.
An Old Garment – Matthew 9:16.
An Oracle –Romans 3:2.

All the synonyms except five of them carry negative connotations which is a pointer to the fact that the law really had a negative effect on the Jews.
