Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while dismissing reports alleging that he is defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke, in a statement on Saturday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, expressed concern about the widespread rumour and reassured his supporters and admirers that he remains a member of the PDP and the leader of the party in the state.

Reiterating his commitment to implementing his administration’s five-point agenda, the governor urged the people of Osun to disregard fake news. This was as he promised to deliver more good governance and democratic dividends.

“I assure the good people of Osun that I remain part and parcel of the PDP family. I am not defecting to any party,” the governor was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the Osun chapter of the PDP has described the defection speculation as the handiwork of rejected politicians and the opposition.

In a statement, PDP Chairman in Osun, Sunday Bisi, said the characters behind the rumours were jittery over the towering achievements of Adeleke’s administration in all critical sectors.

He said, “We understand the tension and anxiety these rumours have generated among our teeming members, supporters and stakeholders. Let it be firmly stated that the PDP remains intact, cohesive, and more committed than ever to the renewed mission of rescuing and rebuilding Osun State.

“Those peddling the lie of decamping are merely rejected politicians and agents of retrogression, who are terrified by the growing popularity and performance of Governor Adeleke, despite their continued attempts to derail the people-centred progress being made.

“Let it also be known that the PDP administration, in line with its open-door policy, remains transparent and inclusive. The good people of Osun will continue to be carried along in all political and governance processes.
Your voices are heard, your feedbacks are valued, and your concerns are being addressed with utmost sincerity.

“We urge the citizens of Osun to dismiss the mischief of those whose only legacy is to plunder the resources of our dear state. The Adeleke administration, backed by the PDP, is focused on service delivery, responsive governance, and the upliftment of all communities across our dear state.”

Adeleke is a goner, I predicted his OTG barely a year in office; just dancing in every opportunity, fighting political leaders of his own party, family affairs appointments and using tugs to chase away opposition. Mind you I'm from Okefia in Oshogbo near SSG family house.
