Oya nah educate us on the history. I am all ears.
You're the one that said Jesus existed, so the onus is on you to prove it.

The origin and evolution of the concept of Christ is in the book I gave you earlier. Read it and you'll understand where and how the idea of Christ came from, right here in Africa for thousands of years before anybody heard of Jesus

Its is not now when the end times have come that you people will be going back to the vomit. Now is not the time to play with salvation when it is closer than when we first believed.

For those who have accepted the gospel, just keep the faith, others will learn in due time, when they see the great tribulation, its either they sell their soul to Antichrist and his technology or they pay by going through the great tribulation while they also believe.

We still have the luxury to debate now but soon, no one will have the luxury. The great tribulation is not beans.

Thank God, that the rapture comes before the great tribulation. That good news is just what i need. smiley

DIVINEEVIDENCE:
It is not bunkum.

Before the advent of Christ, civilisations had rules and taboos and regulations.
They will be judged according to how uprightly they lived in respect to their conscience and societal perceptions of Right and Wrong.

Romans 2:14-16

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one anotherwink

In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

After Christ's death and resurrection, people will be judged based on their acceptance and confession of the faith and Lordship of Christ.

Acts 4:11, 13

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 17:29, 30
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent:

John 3:17, 18
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Then why did Christ need to come if before his coming, our uprightness, respect to our conscience and societal perceptions of Right and Wrong was enough to save us.
You seem to be making the argument that Christ coming, agonizing sacrifice and teaches was not necessarily to salvation. There was a working alternative before his coming. Is that your argument?

You seem to be uncomfortable when asked to explain your beliefs. I was the one that created this thread. I was the one that raised the question. You have an answer and I only want you to elaborate on your answer. Please educate us some more.
You claim that your opinion is historical so asking you to show us the historical evidence is not out of place. In fact it's the best follow up question. I am surprised you were not prepared for it.

For no fault of theirs, our ancestors did not hear about Christ or Christianity would they be punished for that or would they be given a second chance?

It is written
Timothy 2.3-4
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Also
Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

No one preached to our ancestors so is it the will of God that they also be saved and come to a knowledge of Him?
What I see here is religious illusion and bamboozlement which has enslaved humanity from the time immemorial

If they had no opportunity at all to hear the gospel while they were alive, for them to make the decision to follow Christ or not, then the works of their hands will judge them on the judgment day.

Acts 24 vs 15 says there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous. This should be a sufficient answer to the question which is why the theory of reincarnation and soul travel doesn't quite tally

There are Christians in India and in China. And Indians and Chinese all heard the gospel and many made their choices.

And they are fine with their choices, God cannot force them to believe even when they know.

Many people do not have peace, they know something is wrong, its better to have peace and choose wisely, else they will not come to debate, they will be perfectly fine with what they choose. As a Christain i say it out of duty and love, and not hatred, We should make our choices and live with it.

But surely he didn't preach to everyone he met after 30yrs! Even the criminal crucified with him he didn't preach to them! If he did preach to them the writers may have written about it. The ones he preached to and healed were written down as i said earlier in Matthew!
Just a little pointer, the 4 gospels did span across most of the Lord's 33 years, however bible history finds that just about 36 hours of his life were recorded in details. Over 99 percent of what Jesus said and did were not recorded. It would have been extremely difficult to, and even more so reading all of them. Even the bible says there weren't enough volumes to contain all he said and did. So, you can't say conclusively that he didn't preach to everyone he healed.

However, let's say you are correct and the Lord did not in fact preach to everyone he healed. Bro, what could be a more powerful way to preach than to demonstrate his divinity through those supernatural healing? I don't know how else to preach to a blind man after you make him see.

What is the summary.
Do we not conclude that knowing Jesus of Nazareth cannot be a strict requirement for "salvation."

Don't you think it's better to say that living according to the spiritual precepts he taught - regardless of whether one ever heard of the man - is what is key.
It was not a strict requirement before his death and resurrection.

After his resurrection, it became a strict requirement.

John 20:31
But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.

Acts 8:36, 37

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what hinders me from being baptized?

And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

1 John 3:23
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Romans 10:8-10

But what says it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

That if you shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

That is why reincarnation is strongly believed to be true. Because God will not be unjust to judge men for a law that never even existed or to use different scales to judge humans.
In my own understanding, we that are saved by grace through Jesus will be judged according to the acceptance of Christ because we can not be saved by works. But they that were not existing during Christ's dispensation would be judged by works. (Though they had no grace, yet they were good to people, they lived with the consciousness of not wanting to do evil)

Is God not the same yesterday, today and forever? Why then would he change the goal post?

Be specific: what happens to all the many people who lived -

1. Before Christ and never heard of him thus

2. After Christ but never heard of him.

You don’t understand the human spirit. Why did Adam & Eve hide themselves from God when they sinned? Because God put knowledge inside man’s spirit to know right from wrong. People call it conscience but it is more than conscience.

Everyone knows what is evil.. and people who do evil will get a check from their human spirit that this is wrong. But as they continue hardening their heart, they are left to continue in their own deception and will be judged for their love for evil.

Even the idol worshipper knows it is wrong to bow down to what can’t talk or see like him but if he continue and ignore his conscience, he will be left to his deception.

Refreshing.

Can you summarize your philosophy of life. Why we are here. What brought about this world. What is its purpose. Etc.
All I can say for now is we are not meant to be here. We don't belong here. Who ever brought us here doesn't have our interest at heart. Avoid herd mentality and think freely. Whoever brings fear to you does not want the best for you instead wants to control you. Free your self from every form of control. Look where no one is looking.

The astronomical economic strides both those countries are making is evident for all to see. Your Nigeria wey carry word of God for head on the others hand, nko..............Hmmm!
