oglalasioux:Before white men we leave our doors open and go to bed. Before the Whiteman we had no epidermic or pandemic. No recorded diseases Before the Whiteman we had ancient Egyptians that were black Africans that thought Greeks civilization everything they know. Black Africans gave birth to western civilization. Before the Whiteman came black people all of the world was not slaves. Black skin was not seen as inferior and subject to scorn. Before Whiteman Africans have well civilized cities and towns Before Whiteman came we had no obesity. Whiteman came and subjected Africans to use there currency to trade. Importing poverty and inflation Whiteman came and divided black Africans. Igbos against Yorubas vice versa Whiteman came and took identity of black Jesus and claimed they were superior You can't even go through any western nations without getting humiliated all because of white men My brother they steal your resources with fake dollar and you had to earn dollar to buy up your refined resources They have Caused more evil than good. I curse the day our ancestors came in contact with them. We have more evil in the world because of them. |

Amotolongbo:Koto Ọrun was exactly what I was watching one evening behind the window curtains of a house on my way back from my mum's errand to buy kerosene. By the time the film finished, it was late in the night. I could not carry my feet as I was soaked with fear. I managed to move about two more blocks of buildings before I began screaming on the top of my voice for help. 😂 😂 Meanwhile mum and sisters have been looking for me throughout the whole neighborhood. God. I was about 9 or 10. Can't forget that day in my life. |

Just within the last two decades with widespread access to technologia see howfa we have come? Imagine we’ve had this widespread access since the 60s through the 70s up until now? ericmor:Not at all.. I recall when history in primary education was abandoned under goodluck Jonathan's regime.. Now I can see the effects.. Interestingly white domination of the world started only 250 years ago.. Prior to that Europe was the backwater of the world. I will give you a brief whirlwind tour of history The Islamic world which included Africa was far in advance of the European world in what was known as the dark ages for them. Europeans themselves acknowledge if it wasn't for the scholarly retention and innovation of ideas in places like Timbuktu Mali, where black scholars studied at the university of Sankore. too. A lot of knowledge would be have been lost. Let's not forget other centres like Baghdad Mathematics which had it's origins in ancient Egypt and Indus Valley civilizations was passed on to the Greeks who studied in Egypt as students. Notably Plato and other notable Greeks went to study in Africa. They admired the 'Aeithiopes' those of burnt face aka black people, stating that they were the closest to the gods..That is how far the black race has fallen.. Maths then was picked up by the Arabs who added further innovations and was known as the Arabic method by Europeans. Who at the time used Roman Numerals. Europeans didn't even invent the very own alphabet they popularised, as its origins are from Semitic languages which again were born in ancient Egypt. Before that Europeans used simple runes to write things down. Exploration: Hell even the Chinese had circumnavigated most of the globe well before the Europeans, as had the Arabs. Christopher Columbus's ships were based on Arab Dhows.. Captain Cook who supposedly discovered Australia remarked that the harbour was smaller than he expected. How could he have expected anything if he was first to discover it? It was because he allegedly was using Chinese maps. Lastly my favourite one is that you should already know that iron and the associated god Ogun has been dear to Africans since our birth as a people. So much so that black people are the only race on earth to have never had a bronze age we went straight to Iron.. We also pioneered Iron working well before any other race on planet earth. Furnaces have been found dating back to 4000 BC across black west africa. But the story doesn't end there. A man called Henry Cort supposedly pioneered the Cort process to turn brittle iron into stronger wrought iron. This process kick-started the industrial revolution and 250 years of world domination. The only problem is that Europeans themselves noticed that the innovations in the process came from the 73 black African Iron workers, slaves taken from Africa not Henry Cort himself. Our greatness even lay behind a process that led to the domination of the world by whites. I know I wrote a lot and it is just a drop in the ocean of historical events.. But please read history before apportioning everything to Oyinbo. In the same way they invaded and stole with violence. They also did the same with ideas and innovations.. I will give those who did innovate their flowers. But if you say iPhone thank Syrians as Steve Jobs was half Syrian Arab (bet you didn't know that). If you say computing thank black Africans as the origin of binary is the binary systems like ifa used across the continent that inspired early European Alchemists. Like I said I could talk for hours if not days on this topic.. Oyinbo this Oyinbo that . Smh mtcheww |

yemmit90:But you cannot build in Nigeria without government involvement. So how is this different from what you are proposing? I agree with you that the government should have packages for older citizens but your proposal is advanced socialism which is another term for communism. |

Funny enough,I didn't get to watch through the windows because as far back as 1985, we were already living in a 9 bedroom mansion with 4 parlours and 2 dinings, sitting on ½acre of land . Infact , when it was world cup or nations cup, our house was the national stadium where people also gather to watch match. Bless my father's soul. Man was assistant controller of custom in warri ports before he died in 1992. Fiscus105: |

kachistone:Is like you dont really understand my point or take time to read my subsequent posts after the first. Government or private companies control by the government build houses and sell/let it out to you. You can't just buy land and erect structure, you buy houses of your choice or rent it from authorised companies or government. This system enables government to track people records and question them if they intend to buy what they cannot ordinarily afford. For instance, you can't be a civil servant on 200k salary and say you want to buy 50m house with cash. If you understand or know that you can't just spend withiout being question, you will think twice before you embezzled public fund. Nigeria is blessed with natural resources with alot of trillions naira being stolen by both present and former leaders and politicians. The like of Emefiele and others wouldn't have owned over 200 houses with illicit fund if this system is in place. Political office holders, civil servants, professionals, and every single soul steal public fund in Nigeria to acquire properties. Lastly, don't mention any system of government again. This is what has been keeping Africans in bondage for ages. I studies Political science myself, and I can boldly tell you that no advance countries operate pure democracy or capitalism as they made us to believe. If the so called advance countries can do this, I wonder why/how African leaders are so dumb to swallow the bait of Democracy or capitalism as they wrote it in the text book. Advance counties use this same system to curb humans excess and greed, but advise us to stick with 19th century postulating democratic ideas that led to many revolutions. Africa is doom, until they find a way to curb human excess and greed through this system. |

yemmit90: Gerrard59:What am I supposed to say? Anyhow it might be an attempt at sarcastic humor 😅 Government already owns all lands in Nigeria so the country is already well on the way to prosperity. RivalryChat:Now this a boldly fallacious claim. You really didn't mean this, you meant to say something else. Don't repeat this in public anywhere, I beg you Slavery existed in Black Africa BEFORE Contact with Whites & Arabs and no White European ever kidnapped or captured any Black African and enslaved them. Every Black person enslaved in the Atlantic Slave Trade was CAPTURED & SOLD by other Black Africans. That is the fact, so if your opinion is so strong on slavery, you might need to explain your view on that particular facet of the issue. Added to that, the United Kingdom was the FIRST world power to outlaw the Slave trade and most Black Africans REFUSED to obey. Ever heard of Oba Kosoko of Lagos? It's like the trade in illegal narcotics today, it was illegal but Black Africans insisted on selling their own people for money. The British Royal Navy lost hundreds of sailors on the high seas while fighting illegal slave ships. I'm interested in what you have to say about that? Where is the money that Black African tribes and nations earned from the Slave Trade? What happened to the money, what was it used for? Will Black Africans ever pay reparations to Black Americans whose ancestors were kidnapped, captured and sold into slavery by Black Africans? immaculatesense:South Korea and Singapore took less than 247 years to do it. Maybe 50 years or less. With no bonanza resource like crude oil & natural gas. Japan resurrected from total defeat with NUCLEAR BOMBING. Didn't take over 247 years. We could add in Ireland and Poland, though some might argue they have special circumstances of proximity or opportunity. How did the Blacks of South Africa become the richest Blacks on the Continent after only 25 years of freedom is a worthy question too. Here's one you need to think about. From the 1950's to 1990's, THE TELECOMS INDUSTRY by law was owned and controlled by government, the ONLY telecoms company was NITEL. At that time, up to 2001, less than 0.1% of Nigerians had phone lines, whether landline or mobile. In 1986, President Ibrahim Babangida promulgated SAP which legalized private ownership of phone companies, banks, insurance, cocoa trading and broadcasting too. The implementation was slow, but even President Abacha allowed the reforms to continue though he was distracted by political crisis. Then with the return of democracy, President Obasanjo implemented full licensing for private firms. In less than 15 years, over 60 to 75% of Nigerians have access to phone service . Any thoughts on the massive change in the telecom industry? How did it happen, what made it possible, what were the principles? And what has made the USA the greatest country in the world? A simple principle. Ready for it? "GOVERNMENT SHALL NOT " The United States of America is the ONLY country in the world with foundational laws that permanently restrict the power of government. That is what has made the USA the country it is today. There's NO OTHER COUNTRY that has such laws, if any person knows other nations, please tell me. I've done some searching and I can't find them. And quite beyond the written law, is the CULTURE that sustains the laws. This is the real & present danger to the USA today, the population is changing and the original tribes who believed in LIMITED GOVERNMENT are slowly becoming a minority and newer immigrants are majorly from 3rd World countries with TRADITIONS of unlimited government power. Constitution of the United States, Amendment II (1791) A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Note on the 2nd Amendment - at the time it was written, "well regulated" meant "well equipped", just like the world "gay" meant "joy". You can go online and check this yourself. Constitution of the United States, Amendment I (1791) Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Constitution of the United States, Amendment V (1791) No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. The Constitution in my view isn't strict enough on restraining government, but even as is has worked well to allow the human freedom that is necessary for economic growth and prosperity. For example, the United States have a CULTURE of free market pricing but no LAW that restricts government power in that regard. Culture evolves over time. The Anglo-Saxons have evolved a superior culture of restricting government power. That's what you need to know. immaculatesense:OK, that's fair. What about Malaysia, India and Indonesia? Though they're not rich countries, they're doing far better than Nigeria for sure. They're very comparable in population, though I'm not sure about their diversity. India has a dominant religion but a diverse ethnic composition, I don't know about Malaysia and Indonesia. And about diversity, WHO MADE THE DECISION to keep Nigeria united in its diversity? Nigerians freely made that decision, not the British. And the decision was made at the same time other British colonies called India and Malaysia freely decided to SPLIT into less diverse entities. The colonial history of India is so similar to Nigeria that I took the time to visit and travel all over the country and I learned a lot. Here's something I added to my post, you likely didn't see it before responding Here's one you need to think about. From the 1950's to 1990's, THE TELECOMS INDUSTRY by law was owned and controlled by government, the ONLY telecoms company was NITEL. Then with the return of democracy, President Obasanjo implemented full licensing for private telecoms firms. In less than 15 years, over 60 to 75% of Nigerians have access to phone service . This is live history that we've all lived through. Any thoughts on the massive change in the telecom industry? How did it happen, what made it possible, what were the principles? Nigerians have freely made the choices that created the kind of country they want. It's clear that the Nigeria of today is what the Nigerian people PREFER, they like their country exactly the way it is. Their ACTIONS are more important than their VERBAL posturing. It's CULTURE. Good Luck to Nigerians. |
