Ballerina 9/10
This is one of the best movie I’ve seen so far this year and I really like how the writer didn’t upgrade the girl and make it looks like she can fight John and the storyline was really good and it’s goes deeper into the gangs rules and the actions, the killing and the fights scenes are all A1 quality.

The Old Guard 2. 4/10
All this years of waiting, just to release this beautiful nonsense, the fight scenes looks childish, the unfinished plot is weak……..it will be better to just rush it and make the movie 2hrs

Joker 2. 1/10
I still can’t believe I was the one shouting joker 2 will likely hit $1B, I wish I didn’t watch this movie and I’m happy the old man is not even the real joker.

Bring Her Back......8/10

What can I say other than, A24 supremacy is BACK!!

Not your typical scary horror....this is the A24 style of horror. A sub-genre they mastered so well, they made a niche on their own, a culture and a following.
This is the type of horror that built A24 to that pedestal it enjoys today.

It's not a movie you'd enjoy. It's not an entertaining watch. It's filled with pain and sorrow. It's entrenched in misery. There's hardly any joy in this movie and you'd even hate it at some point. It doesn't pull its punches in making you feel the hopelessness and misery the characters are suffering. It pulls you into their pain.

One profound message the movie touched on is the topic of Loss and Grief and the effects on the psyche of the bereaved.

The main characters dealing with the painful memory of losing their loved ones. The marks of the déad still haunt the actions of the living. A perfect blend of supernatural, psychological and body horror. All mashed into one.

Top tier storytelling. I was pretty bored at first, especially the first 30mins and slept off a couple times. But when I got into the 45mins mark and got in groove, it was a disturbing feeling all through. Sometimes you're annoyed, you're disgusted, you're shocked — every turn you're reminded just how hopeless this world is. The last 30mins did a wholesome carry job and that ending elevated the whole film and brought true meaning and reflection to the whole shebang.

The gore and everything is just raw. Sally Hawkins and the kid who played Oliver (the possessed kid) truly murdered their roles. Top tier acting. Where they get these kids for these roles is just amazing.

One of those movies where you really got to be patient till the end. Until I got to the end before I began to appreciate what the movie was all about.

Definitely one of the weirdest and disturbing movies I've seen this year and takes the cake of the most bizarre 2025 has to offer so far.

All I can say is A24, the father of modern day weird and bizarre horror, has been brought back to it roots. Pun intended.

Ballerina......6/10

This already a tired franchise and they need to keep this one in the deep freezer for a while before the next installment.

It's cool, fun and zany but it's lacking heart and personality to me. It mostly dwells on tired and over-flogged tropes. There's no top acting to elevate it above what I've come to expect.

The action was entertaining nonetheless. Great fight sequences and gun paradise.

It's just the typical example of vibes and insha'Allah.

There's this unpopular opinion that's always been on my mind some years now— I feel Keanu Reeves is just one note. He's not really a good actor to me and/or lacks range. His delivery of dialogue or it's probably the way he talks just takes me out of his scenes in recent movies. He just delivers his dialogue lazily like he's reading the script and not acting. I like him more when he just acts and shoot things up without saying anything.
I know I haven't decisively sit down and watch his magnum opus which brought him to fame— The Matrix trilogy; so I don't know if he was good while younger but his recent movies just brings up his acting deficit when he's not playing John Wick.

His only convincing role for me has been Constantine and that's hardly much cos I ain't even a big fan of that movie.

I feel you. He does sound like he's reading bedtime stories to himself sometimes. Buttt… he’s lowkey built his whole brand off that calm, stoic delivery. It's not range — it's vibe and it Works. Wick? Perfect. Shakespeare? God, no. 😂

Also, My Own Private Idaho — young Keanu actually had chops there. You should peep it.

So yeah, you're not wrong. He isn't the GOAT actor. But he’s Keanu. And somehow… that’s enough.

Your opinion is not an unpopular one.

It's a well known fact that Reeve's acting is wooden.

I think the only reason why he's still maintained his movie star status is because of his off screen personality.

He's very likable and humble in real life; no controversies.

My two cents.

Actors all have peculiar acting styles or methodology, that works well for them and they tend not to want to deviate, as it is a safe bet, why some other actors have the ability to flip methodology and change styles per roles, which is good, but it doesn't make them better actors than the latter.

Keenu Reeves and Liam Neeson have the same demeanor towards acting, and i have not really seen a widespread claim, that they are bad actors. I have also seen them carry the same demeanors into other genres, that is not action, and they were believable performances and endearing af. Keanu Reeves in "Destination Wedding" (2018), might be one of the best male lead in a Rom Com i have seen in the last 10 years and Liam Neeson in "Ordinary Love" (2019) is actually one of the best portrayals of grief and loss by Husband to a stage 4 cancer wife, i have seen.

It might come off as monotonous, but this is their style, and I will be first in line to see any films, both are in tbh.

E no get wetin na one tell me about Keanu Reeves....Baba no Sabi act shït. Whether na just one style or flavour, it's plastic. grin grin

With all the flack Dwayne Johnson gets I really do wonder why peeps don't include Keanu in those trolling. I'd take The Rock's monotonous style anyday over Reeves.

Liam Nelson is heads and shoulder above Keanu Reeves anyday anytime. It doesn't matter whether he does one style, he's a boss in it and kills the role. So it's forgiven. But Keanu? There's hardly any movie I can say this guy really acted or dig the role. He's just there.

I go even take Ryan Reynolds all day cos that one same old same old style, is still believable and with effort. Keanu Reeves just has this weird vibe like I can see him reading the script instead of him acting on the script.

There are many actors that are just good at one thing but they're damn good at it. Look at Morgan Freeman, I don't think I've seen a movie where Freeman has portrayed or given a different vibe from his usual calm, wise, elegant older man. But man always delivers no matter what.
I don't get that with Keanu Reeves.

It alls boils to him probably having a great personality off screen and him being likeable. Cos I don't think I've come across those hot takes where folks make jest of actors with limited range and I see Keanu in it. And I weirdly see him as a very qualified candidate for those lists.

But I've seen OGs like Liam Neeson, a few times Samuel L Jackson, serial candidates Ryan Reynolds, The Rock etc all the time.

So when I think about it when I see Keanu Reeves acting, the thing dey always muzz me.

lol i can slightly see why you'd hold this opinion of him but in his defence and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, that's just his style, and he hasn't particularly had roles that he needed to overtly exert himself to show the kind of dexterity you expect of him. He does what exactly needs to be done, and he is not a bad actor in my book lol, not by a very long mile. Every actor has just one style of acting, from Tom Cruise's super stunts and action to John Cena trying to be funny and serious, to Batista trying to be funny and acting, to Reynolds' trash-talking and acting. I see most fans trying to talk down on The Rock, while every actor is guilty of this. No actor has this outside of character acting; it's just a few changes being adapted, which, if you watch closely, you will still pick up the actor's original acts. As for Keanu, try and see Constantine or The Lake House; maybe it would give you a view from a different perspective of Keanu. As for The Rock, try and watch Walking Tall. I think the problem with most viewers is you want Reynolds in a Cena, Cena in a Keanu, and Keanu in a Morgan Freeman.

Baba I no need all this SHALAYE. I watch actors every week, so I understand what I see and feel from each performance.
Everyone got actors they like and some not so much.

I've watched Keanu Reeves in Constantine and that's slightly the only better performance I can remember from him....it's still basically the same but with him emoting more.

All his recent movies have been same old. It's like he doesn't even try to make it look like he's acting. Dude just drops lines like he's reading a script.

If we want to go round and be giving explanation for each actors style or director's style, we go still dey here till next week dey argue. Cos no one will own up to their faves limitations.
Cos with this logic, I can go on about how Gal Gadot isn't a bad actor; because she ain't doing anything different from these guys you just mentioned. But many people online make it a point she's a shït actor. I didn't see anybody holding up a torch for her back then.

So make this matter rest. Na my personal opinion.

Thunderbolts.......6.9/10

I get it the MCU over promised with the fake hype and all....but this was decent. Better than I expected.

I enjoyed every bit of it.... The quality of the MCU has gone to shït for a while now and the marketing as the best the MCU could offer since Endgame is a malevolent fallacy. It's not even close to Guardians of The Galaxy 3. But it's also got it's charm.

I liked the play on Sentry's dual personality. It touched on human psyche and loneliness.

While the writing might not be rock solid, the story was a good one. A bunch of ragtag team joined together by shared past failures and pain.
No top tier acting displayed but pristine action showcased, which I very much enjoyed and I liked the dynamic relationship of Yelena and "Bob" Sentry — the Void.

With that said, overall it was decent. I'd even say good.
