Peter Rufai name was Peter Jaja until Peter Changed it to Rufai after he started Professional football because of his father who was a king.

Peter's mom was also from King Jaja family in Opobo kingdom.vA popular and renouned King .
King Jaja name was what Peter beared and was visiting OPOBO Kingdom every year till he became so grown . His younger cousins are still there .

General Sani Abacha spoke to all the super eagles players, and the phone conversation was aired then on TV few hours before the match. Peter Rufai was the last person Abacha spoke to and he had a lengthy conversation with him more than the rest players.
