I just want to share an experience that left me emotionally drained and questioning the integrity of some people in this country.

A few days ago, I saw an item online that caught my interest. After several chats and price negotiations, the seller and I agreed on a place to meet. I was genuinely excited because I was dealing with someone who works with a reputable media organization.

But little did I know, I was walking into one of the most frustrating and humiliating moments of my life.

I spent time, money, and energy. I walked under the rain, took a drop, and made my way to the agreed location — only to start calling this man and getting ignored. When he finally replied my chat, he casually said he had lost interest and couldn’t wait anymore.
It was not even upto our agreed time.

No apology. No explanation. Just “I’m no longer interested.”


I kept asking myself, ''How can someone working with such a reputable media house act so recklessly and inconsiderately?”
Have the country gone so unreal that one can't even trust any again in respective of their reputation?
Have you ever had such experience?

A lot of people are devil 😈 incarnate. So heartless and wicked, always out to inflict pain to others. Just thank God you did not walk into a kidnapper's hand.

Honestly, it's a very sad experience. What's the essence of having an agreement with someone, making them spend time and resources, travel a long distance—only to ignore them in the end? It's just very wrong and disappointing.

The guy probably realised that the price he agreed with you for the camera is far lower than the current market value.

Either that or he finally got the money he was looking for elsewhere and changed his mind about selling the camera.

He placed the item for 300k and we finally agreed on 270k. Isn’t that a fair enough price? Even if he later had a higher bidder, wasn’t there a better, more respectful way to disengage, especially knowing he made me travel a long distance to meet him at an agreed location? Well, it’s in the past now. I was only expressing my hurt over the way I was treated.

The workplace doesn’t make the person. It is not a school where they aim to mould employees into a certain archetype. All they care for is that he delivers before deadlines and meets organizational goals. He may be a yahoo boy in his spare time. So far it doesn’t affect his output in the firm, they do not care.

You’re absolutely right, we learn every day. I’m already letting go of that idea. Someone’s place of work doesn’t necessarily determine how they behave in public here. Maybe if it were to be in a developed country......
