makahlj2:Only if visa fees are refundable, then they won't refuse people visa coz they claim they don't own social media accounts. I don't even know why it's called visa fees and you end up not getting the visa. |

Difrent:This means they won't issue you any visa because it shows you're not telling the truth. There's no one who is learned enough to seek US Visa in this 2025, who will not possess at least one social media account. |

They are even being considerate to tell them to remove it. Normally, that’s one major reason many people got denied in the past. |

musicwriter:Don't mind them. Trump just said any country in support on BRICS will attract 10% tarrif. You just have to ask yourself why? Is it now a crime for countries to come together for common interests? What exactly is going on? |

Azmanaty:It's actually a visa application processing fee. They use resources to investigate your application, whether it will be approved in the end or not. That's why you always pay. |

Nigeria is already on the list of Americas enemy for supporting BRICS….Tinubu is just looking to be popular without caring about Nigerians …All BRICS members are countries that have a good economy and can do without United States even South Africa ….we will see where this power drunk BAT is pushing Nigeria to and his supporters will be the first to be affected because they are averagely as selfish as he is |

What happens in a case where an applicant does not have social media presence? All of these are mere formalities. And deleting an old account may not help much. Who owns Facebook and the major SM? Americans. And you think the visa office won't have some access to backend data? |

makahlj2:It's not. For example, the countries that use VFS or TLSContact for visa processing, you pay visa processing fee of about 51k and also pay the visa fee of the country which is about 160k upwards. I did this for Belgium and France, so I know |

Difrent:If you claim not to have a social media account and they conduct a search which reveals that you actually do have a social media account be aware that that is grounds to deny your application for visa because it means you were not truthful when you were filing the application form. Someone who lied about his social media account probably also lied about other things ![]() |

Kingpele:Though it's desirable of our government to spent our money judiciously but this one has little or nothing to do with that, migration is not solely about poverty,we have many citizens from a wealthy nations migrating to other countries because of one reason or the other. A serious nation must beware of strangers entering its territory. |

Rules are meant for the poor and unfortunate. They know who they sanction especially those who are so desperate to travel to the USA. Besides, USA isn't the only country on earth. Nigeria govt should also respond by scrutinizing every Americans entering Nigeria, diplomats or otherwise. We are a sovereign nation under God or aren't we? |
