I just saw this right now and I hope my advice is not coming too late. First thing first was for you to take the initiative and report to the Police or even NAPTIP. Penetration or not, it's still sexuall molestation. By now, having taking her shower ever since the incidence, your best evidence will be her cloths which should be tested for semen. Pls this has to be done by the Police/NABTIP as the case may be, and not by you, at a government licenced/recognized Lab/Hospital. The result would be tested with the semen of the man in question and this would be one serious evidence to be used in court.

Other corroborative evidence can now start coming in like for example may be the man had called her ten minutes before the attack to meet in the car. Cell phone records will show this. Are there CCTV footage in the area? etc. But first thing first is that semen test from her cloths which establishes that there was direct contact with the man.

Next is to get social media influencers to blow up tha case. But this might not be an option if she would want the matter to be as discreet as it can be. But sometimes, these social media influencers may be of help especially in the case where the authority in question might want to engage in a cover up. Or may be you get some of these NGOs involved in matters of these nature instead of social media influencers. They too can be of help especially if she does not want publicity as such but done degree of supervision so that the matter is not silenced.

Silence is not golden in these circumstances because the man will likely do same to someone else (assuming what she is saying is true oh!). But something you said sounded a little bit off. That she met the man on acount of helping you secure a job. Did you ever tell her you were looking for a job? Or was there ever a time it could be said that you getting a job was to be her responsibility?, an 18 year old?. Let it not be the case that she knew what she was getting involved in and may be the money expected was not given or that she latter felt ashamed of what she did and she is now saying it's rape or whatever. I am just saying you too need to look at the facts objectively and not emotionally.

But like I said before, the earliest you take action, the better. Because at the end of the day, in court, it's not what is true that matters, it is all about what you can proof. That's why I am very particular of that semen test that could by now still be harvested from the cloths she wore that day.

I have tried to let her know that it is not her fault and that the man needs to pay for this, but she's been begging me to just let it go. How are you sure there was no penetration. What should have been done is to report to the police first, they assign a female officer to take her to a government hospital for examination, she is referred to the rape unit in the hospital where hiv preventative medication is given to her in case the man has the desease. Infact the police on inviting him will make sure he is tested and if he is negative she might not need medication.
Anyway the 1-3 days window to use medication is already closed what she can use now is pregnancy prevention drugs.
