I love Kenneth Okonkwo. He is not being sentimental one bit. Nigerian presidential elections is rotational since 1999. Never has a southerner handed over to a southerner. Peter Obi/Elrufai will seal the deal. Elrufai will capture some core northern states for Obi as the latter clears the middle belt,maybe except kogi. Tinubu can't grab all the south western states. I said he'd lose lagos in 2023 but they called me names. We still dey ground, same 2023 spoilers for tinubu in Lagos and well do it again, if Obi runs. Things were even much better in 2023 than they are now so, Tinubu's chance is slim here. I don't see any miracle that can change that and same will happen in other states in the country. If the coalition people are serious we will know when they bring up their candidate.
This man is just saying the truth. Data no dey lie, even reality on ground is that no southerner will get more votes than Tinubu in the north, and it will not even be close at all. I repeat, no southerner will come close to Tinubu In the North.
And the man has bought over the entire South south. The SE governors are also playing ball with him, which means he will get substantial numbers from SS for sure and SE too.

In this we agree. I think what Kenneth meant is that, defeating is not enough. Protecting and defending your win is the case and the northerners are notorious on that. If a northerner wins for instance, you can't steal the votes they'll all rise to defend it. But the case is different of a southerner does.

Present the facts that Obi defeated Tinubu in 2023. Let's stop being sentimental . Tinubu won because Atiku and Obi decided not to band together to win the election.

Obi has zilch chances of defeating Tinubu as the presidential flag bearer . The honest truth is that the North do not like the easterners . Tell me a core northern state that Obi won or had good numbers in the last election.

I have come to understand what Tinubu is trying to do . However I still don't like him . The truth is if atiku and obi work together and wins, the north gets another chance of ruling for12 years out of 16. They already have an unhealthy belief that that own this country. If Tinubu wants to really help this country , he should use this window to return nigeria to true federalism in the upcoming constitutional review .

Peter Obi can not do that this time. Party Obi cannot win the Southern votes this time neither will he win Lagos as he did in the last election. APC will muzzle Peter Obi's votes in the South.
Kenneth is right about only Northern candidate can beat Tinubu because they cannot rig Northern votes for Tinubu this time in the way they will rig Obi's votes in the South. Just get that straight. This one is not sentiment or trying to be optimistic for something that is certain.

I disagree with you and I will tell you why, respectfully.
-2023 is not 2027
-Peter Obi had majority of his votes from SE and SS in 2023, the political climate today is that out of 11 governors from SS and SE today,
About 8 are working for Tinubus re-emergence. That was not the case in 2023.
My verdict: Obi will still win SS and SE but not by as much margin as 2023
- As long as Atiku is not on the ballot, the North is going to be captured by Tinubu. Here are my reasons: Bola Tinubu has better political reach in the north than Obi or any active southern politician. Secondly and more importantly, there is no incentive for the north to support another southerner that is not Tinubu. With Tinubu, they will only wait for 4 years before power returns to them in 2031, with a new southerner they MAY have to wait till 2035. The north loves power so much, So for the north it is either they vote a northerner in 2027 or they flow with the plan that will return power to them asap(2031 in this case).

If we have Atiku Obi and Tinubu on the ballot. Tinubu will most likely win. 3 factors will help him, rigging machinery, security agencies and INEC manipulation, and ofcourse using instrument of state to buy support.
The only thing that defeats Tinubu is Atiku/Obi ticket and right now his agents are working overtime to ensure that alliance does not happen. They are Inside the coalition already

While leaders from the West and South like Bode George and Wike put their feet down and insist power must remain in the South, the usual 'sabos' of the South who, ironically love calling other Southerners "sabos" are at it again. Even if you don't rate your brother Obi, and don't like Tinubu, there's a Rotimi Amaechi in the picture.

To defeat Tinubu, Northwest, Northeast and Southeast votes must be completely locked no matter the rigging.

We must factor in INEC and the security. Tinubu's only confidence and assurance to win a reelection is in massive rigging of the 2027 Presidential election.


To counter his plans and make it come to nothing, the coalition must work together to lock the overwhelming votes that will come from:

Northwest
Northeast
Southeast


and the only way to lock those votes is by using a strong Northerner like Atiku or El Rufai as the Presidential flagbearer with a strong Southeasterner like Peter Obi as the Vice or Running mate.


With Atiku/Obi ticket, Tinubu may not even contest because he knows he is gone already.


With Atiku/Obi ticket, nobody born of a woman can rig:

Northeast
Southeast


and live to tell the story. Any attempt to change the result like 2023 will lead to national chaos which may turn to full national revolution.



The coalition should not make the mistake of allowing a Southerner get the ticket if not Tinubu will win.


We must be realistic in our calculations.


The whole North are angry with Tinubu, they are the ones to lead the voting out of Tinubu alongside Igbos whom Tinubu ignored/sidelined. And the North don't have the level of enlightenment we Southerners have, they have a voting pattern. Despite what Tinubu did for Buhari and picking a Muslim as Vice, plus constant donations to the North in the past, Northerners were still reluctant to vote for Tinubu in 2023 such that Tinubu had to open Lagos state treasury vault to buy INEC to help him out which is why Tinubu has been angry with the North, now think about it, is it Peter Obi, an Igbo man that the North will troop out en masse to vote for in 2027?


Northerners usually prefer their own, so if we are sure we want to unseat Tinubu in 2027, the coalition party must field Atiku and Obi in one ticket. Tambuwal cannot do it, El Rufai and Obi can also do it but Atiku is the best man to fly the coalition ticket.

mathematically the north should produce the next President. This is my analysis: South: OBJ: 8yrs + Jonathan 6yrs + Tinubu 4yrs - that’s a total of 18yrs for south. North: Yaradua 2yrs + Buhari 8yrs - that’s a total of 10yrs. Giving Tinubu another 4yrs means south would have done a total of 22yrs and north: 10yrs.

I want to pretend you didn't know that president Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in on 6th May 2010, which is five years. As for Obasanjo, the likes of Alex Ekwueme and Atiku had presidential ambitions within the PDP, but I want to pretend you didn't know why the leading candidate going into 1999 elections were two Yorubas. I also want to believe you thought it was a coincidence that OBJ who emerged as the winner was from the same state as the winner of the 1993 elections.
