It doesn't work that way.. some LGAs in South West, North Central and North East are bigger than some States in South East.
Take Ibadan for example.. Ibadan is equivalent to 3 South East States combined..Then Oyo State is like 5 South East States put together.

Let me not even go to Niger State which is like x3 the size of entire South East region.

Truth is that we can't have equal States in all the regions, as far as the goal is for sustainable development.

Following the conclusion on the senatorial committee tour of all the six Geo-Political Zones of Nigeria on State Creation, these are the States that have pass the final reading on the Senate and to be officially declared.



SOUTH WEST

Ijebu State from Ogun State
Ibadan State from Oyo State.



SOUTH EAST

Anim State from Anambra and Imo

Adada State from Enugu State


SOUTH SOUTH

TORU-IBE State

From Ondo, Edo, Delta


Obolo State from
Akwa-Ibom



NORTH EAST

Savanna State and Amana State from
Borno and Adamawa States




NORTH WEST

Tiga State and Gurara State from Kano and Southern Kaduna



NORTH CENTRAL

Okura State from Kogi State
