At 9 yrs old. Jumping into a very fast flowing river after all night rainfall when I and my peers were arguing that no one can swim in the river after that heavy rain last night.

I foolishly took up that challenge and almost lost my life.
Immediately my body touched the river, with a speed of lightening, it swept me away.
Taking me to deeper side and heading towards the thick bush.

As it took me under a local bridge constructed with logs of woods, I didn't know how it happened.
I grabbed one of the woods that projected out.

All my friends had ran away leaving me to my fate.
I kept hanging there as the river was pushing.
My lungs were almost filled with water.

Fortunately, this man coming back for his farm saw me.
He threw away his load and lied on the bridge.
Stretched out his hand and grabbed me. Pulled me out of the river.
He brought me out and pressed my chest.
Na so water just dey come out from my mouth and nose.

Saving my coins in water flask. It broke the first one, I didn't stop, when it broke the second one I had to stop

I fired turkey straight from the freezer.

Just heated the oil, and placed the frozen turkey in the hot oil.

While at it, all of a sudden my big brother comes back from school, this was 12 noon instead of the normal 2pm. They way I ran to turn off the stove and take to pot to the backyard. He still bursted me sha. May his soul rest in peace.

My dad had a Mercedes Benz Manual stick and I’ve been fazed how mechanics push the car and jump in and kick start it and park it.

Guess what I tried it in this sequence
Placed the gear on neutral
Pushed the car
Tried to jump in
Failed in my attempt
Car pushed me down almost crushed my head
And I let it roll down a slope and watched it go and go asking myself, how dumb could I really be.

Well na Benz barely a scratch but that mama shop was destroyed.

Old man dey read newspaper on a hot Saturday na how em pikin come tell am say make him look outside….. God I thank you for my life.


Another one

I was a teenager, purchased a Motorola razr. Transformer has been acting up and finally light done come, then my charger was acting up, impatience made me to cut off the head of the charger, plugged it to into the socket and then plugged the phone.

The phone IC board literally blew

I couldn’t cry and wanted to cry at the same because something told me not to do it, but I did it any ways.

I think that was the last dumb thing I did till date

I ate my mother's contraceptive pills thinking they were sweets since they were in different colours... I was left under my grandmother's supervision and you know old people, they easily get tired and would eventually let their guard down.

Since I was in the house and in my parents' bedroom, she thought I was just playing and not doing anything out of the ordinary... Unknown to her, I was snooping around... I even rubbed some of the pills on my eyelids like eyeshadows...🤦🤦🤦... My grandmother still didn't pay much attention with my new makeover... ... It wasn't until my mother came home, noticed my face and started interrogating me... Long story short, I ended up getting rushed to the hospital for a check up even though I didn't feel anything wrong with me... After some tests, I was cleared from any harm.

Hahahaha this got me rolling hard with laughter.

I just hope the pills have expired from your system.

I was about to write that before reading your comment. I wanted to fly like Super Ted and Superman, so I jumped from the top of my house steps, aiming to land on the couch in the living room. However, my leg got caught, and I ended up hanging there for over 30 minutes until my sister came home, saw me stuck, and called for help. So many wild memories!

My father woke me up to pee, because i do bed wet alot, instead of me to wee in the potty I open a pot of soup just cook last night and wee inside the soup, friends na only me finished the soup with better slap every meal till the soup finished.

Laughing, I can imagine the slap, my brother did that too

As a child I took a stick of fire from the cooking pot in the village and went to light up one of the huts with grass roof. When they asked my why I simply replied that I wanted to find out what would happen.

How I escaped thrashing that day still remains a mystery that scientists have yet to discover the cause 😁😁😁😁

I don't remember. Childhood was many decades ago.

Had a similar experience as a 4 year old. I was using a pea of beans to stroke my ear only for bean to drop into my ear lobe and could come out. Every attempt to bring it out keeps pushing it in. My illiterate mother first of all slapped my other ear to force it out but it didn't work. Then we trekked for miles to a NITEL station where my mother thought those phone relievers will magically remove the beans. The people there told my mother to just take me to the doctor who managed to remove it. I suffered on that beans that I never go near it again.

For some reason I was playing with a seed of beans and it got stuck inside my nose, was scared of telling my parents to avoid spanking so I tried to sleep with it but couldn't breathe well.
I finally told them around 12 midnight when I couldn't sleep.
They put little snuff in my other nostril and I sneezed it out.
The next morning as I was about to get into the car for school.
My driver was hailing me "the man wey plant beans inside him nose"

I was feeding a monkey in a cage with bean cake.The monkey was enjoying it until it got finished.
The monkey grabbed my cloth and ready to attack.The owner came quickly to assist and advised tbat I should not feed the monkey again.,not safe to do so.
I learnt from the incident about human behaviour,when you have enough to give they like you but when there is nothing to dish out you become an enemy.

After watching hellboy, there was a scene where he was in the middle of the road dodging cars, I remember narrating to a friend and decided to demonstrate...on a busy road, thank God for that Hausa man.

While growing up, I love to drink water from the keg or Jerrycan simply because I love the way it gushes out of the keg and the sound it makes while pouring from the keg into a cup and of course we were used to store clean and drinking water inside a keg. So one day like that, we were in the neighborhood playing and I was thirsty, I quickly ran to my neighbor's room and pour liquid from the available keg thinking it's everybody that stores water in the keg, unknowingly, it was kerosene, I drank up to half of the cup before I realized, up until today, it still baffles me how dumb I was that I didn't realize it was kerosene until I almost finished a cup. The amount of oil that was forcefully fed to me that day ehn.., e reach to prepare soup for a whole family of 6.🤣

I once jumped over my neighbor barbed wire fence doing High jump no one sent me before it gave me a zig zag cut on my right leg 🤣😂. My friend burst out laughing and I ran home,so I was hiding it from my people because Dad was supposed to use night bus to Lag so that if it's mum that I can easily manipulate it.
So my elder sis was calling me to come out and I refuse,so she decided to check me out knowing it's weird for me to be indoors at such time. Na so she catch me with my big wound I was using my bro powder drug to apply on the wound so it will stop bleeding that's how I started begging her not to shout and she trumpeted it 😁. Mum rushed and shouted .y name dad gave me a good slap and I lied that my friend pushed me,so my mum was shouting it's a lie that my friend has nothing to do with it that only me knew where I got the injury from. Omo since that day I avoided anything barbwire

Me: Having worked as a houseboy while growing up, I was tasked with the responsibility of cooking for a large number of people. All the foods I prepared were salty. Either too much salt or maggi or pepper. But most times, it was salt. I tried to stop but no way. Because if I tried to have a taste of what I was cooking, they would say I had finished the food while still on the fire.

What I was doing to reduce the saltiness of the food was to POUR MORE SALT directly into the FIRE. This was Based on superstition at the time. I was told that doing so would drastically reduce or completely remove the salt in the food. Till date, I can't tell if it ever worked or not.

When we were in primary 4, any water drawer we came across while navigating our village ends up in the well.

Stole my classmate computer game,with the help of a fellow classmate ,way back in primary two . The werey later bursted me simply because I failed to give him the computer game after it had stayed with me for a week

One morning,the werey led the owner of the computer game and his mom to our house....... . I ended up denying him that he was the one who stole and gave it to me to help keep it for him.....las las,the kind of flog wey I collect from my father that very day still get scar for my blokos up till now

Me and my 2 brothers thinking we were "Power Rangers" after watching the film.
So we went out to look for wooden sticks and called it swords. We even carry it everywhere we go. Everyone thought we were crazy.

Some other neighbors children got inspiration and join us. So we formed an Army.

Then everyday we would imagine war would break out and we would be the ones to save Nigeria.

Then we started training for the unknown war. We fought among ourselves to prepare for the destiny of Nigeria rested on our hands.

Oneday, we dug all our wooden sticks inside the ground near our house.

My Dad came home and asked what those sticks were and we should remove them. We told him "No". We told him they are our swords. We would use them to save him and mum and Nigeria when "RITA" comes with her villains to fight Nigeria. (Rita is the female villain in the Power Rangers Mighty Morphin film).

My Dad was just looking at us for hours.

Somebody should pour cold water on me.

My son will have the same story to tell some day

Many times, I will try to stare at it but i will quickly stop because of the radiation. But that particular day, I made up my mind i was going to take a look and see what is inside the sun. Omoh, I'm a good testimony that the forces are always with me for not loosing my eyesight. Because my eyes went blank after i stared at the sun🤣

I later had a slight strain on my eyes that day and i never told anyone around me till today. But my eyes were eventually fine. I promised myself never in my life will i dare try to do such dumb thing again😂
