Maxymilliano:You see our parents generations are stuck in the “our refinery” should not be sold . Majority of them worked in Nepa , NNPC and majority of these sectors . They were also enablers and active participants in the corruption that ruined those sectors . Insisting and Holding on to these cesspool of corruption shows we as a society like corruption . Majority of them voted against Atiku in 2019 just because of that sale statement. Same people that fought when GEJ wanted to remove subsidy . Look at us now . We are back to square one after so many years . It is irritating |

Man wey sabi Man wey mean well The fact is there is a slim possibility, but lack of proper planning and insatiable, zero value adding leeches sucking hungrily on the refinery's finance. |

Ohun tí àgbà rí lórí ìjókòó, tí ọmọdé bá gun igi kò lè ri. / What an elder sees on a seat, a youth on a tree cannot see it. Baba Olusegun Obasanjo said this earlier but they were quick to come after him. Political bandits in power. Na like this renewed hope suppose be? Na so so propaganda since they assumed office. Asiwere nko oro jo lai mo eni ti yio naa. A crazy person is amassing "ill-gotten" wealth, not knowing who will spent it. |

TimeManager:Nonsense talk. If his friends have the money to buy them and run them, then yes, let him sell them to his friends. Not even forgetting that the land which TVC is sitting on now was owned by Lagos state polytechnic. Tinubu took that land and sold it to himself. Talk about corruption personified. |

Maxymilliano:OBJ is far from perfect but when he said this we refuse to believe him same way we were against Jonathan when he removed subsidy. |

NgeneUkwenu:If you own a bad car, you can’t sell it for good price when it is completely broken. But if you repair some parts with small money, you can sell it at higher price. That should be the policy of government with regards to the refineries. The aim should not be to start production, but to resell to willing buyers after repairing them. |

They're not refusing to work. Somebody somewhere is making sure they don't work. |

PRINCESSFCFANSs:Well, at least you can see that NO national thing is working in Nigeria. No national Airline No public water supply National electricity is going No national petrol No national telephone service National universities always on strike . It tells you that the people and the government are NOT on thesame platform. The people hate the government as much as the government hates the people. Hence the disunity and failure of everything government owned. |

Kastonkastroll:They should be sold as scrap. They cannot sell to the private sector. No investor will buy it at this time. |

Eniitankorede:You can repair something if you have a working factory producing spare parts for your repairs . We have NO working industries and No spare parts. Nothing can be repaired. Sell off everything. |

NgeneUkwenu:Tinubu selling it would not be a smart move at that time. He would have been accused of selling it to himself or his cronies. Now we are here, we have seen that having put in that much into the TAM, they couldn't still work, and seeing that everyone now clamors for the sale of the refineries even if he sells them to his cronies I am not sure anyone would raise an eyebrow. And guess what, that could have been the plan all along. Put in the required money. Do the TAM Ensure it doesn't work. Declare it as unfit for purpose. Hence sell it as SCRAP at a very ridiculous amount To your friends. Then sit back and watch the facilities work at optimum. While you smile to the bank. Anything can happen. In Nigeria. |

maiunguwar:Tinubu has nothing to do with this. Everything about that refinery happened under Buhari. I don't support Tinubu but that doesn't mean he should be dragged into what he has no knowledge about. Lets be objective please. |

BUY NNPCL FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND MANAGE IT. REDUCE FUEL TO N500 PER LITER. DO A QUICK COST REDUCTION EXERCISE AND MOVE ON. |

Correction the so called 18bn was not applied to repairs or TAM of the refineries, the funds were embezzled, blame the poor performance on the kleptocrats who were responsible for overseeing the refineries not the refineries themselves. This is obviously good news to dangs as his monopoly in the refining sector is now cemented. This is music to his ears, he now has the license to gut Nigerians like pigs as he did in the cement industry. |

In the end Obasanjo remains the best of the best. I remember how he was abused recently when he suggested Tinubu not to waste money on the refineries. https://leadership.ng/why-nigerias-refineries-will-never-work-obasanjo/ Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said the four oil refineries in Nigeria will never work. Advertisement The four refineries are located in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna. Obasanjo said the refineries will never work as long as the government continues to hold onto them. The former president who stated this in an interview with The Cable Online Newspaper, said Shell Oil Development Company turned down his offer to them to run the refineries. He disclosed that after much persuasion the managing director of Shell, at the time, listed four reasons why the oil company wouldn’t get involved in running Nigeria’s refineries, including “too much corruption in refineries.” |

kolente:My first thought when I opened the thread. But on reading through the entire piece, I realised that Dangote was also an insider at NNPC having previously bought an entire refinery and was poised to take over their entire structure until Nigeria happened to him. He is entitled to let Nigerians know what he met on the ground as an insight into letting us know why the TAM cycles are scams. As for the battle of cabals, forget it, he has already beaten them hands down and wiped the floor with their asses. The era of the cabals is now history. You may call him the new cabal too and you could be right. But he attained that by sheer excellence and the framework under which he operates is open and transparent to all Nigerians to compete with him under the same set of open rules. So we need more expose from him. ![]() |

The cabal in the oil sector, the FG and "others" are the ones that doesn't want the refineries to work. Why are the ones all the people I mentioned above built in abroad working? It is a grand evil design by those involved to continue to milk Nigeria economy dry and perpetually subject the country to abject poverty. ............... Meanwhile, where are those emergency lovers of Nigeria who claimed to be more Nigerians than others that were abusing people here few months ago for telling them the truth that the refineries were not working as claimed by the FG? Can they come and abuse Dangote now? |
