Is this surprising? From the beginning, we already know it's all theatrics
Theatrics? Well the state will become a reality. Those who say no can happily join Niger Delta state with the Urhobos, etc, if they will be accepted there.

The Anioma people have said that they want their new State to be part of South South

You can only collect money from a business that's making money.

Most of these hotels and businesses in other states are suffering from low patronage, due to the low earning potential of those there.

Lagos is home to a lot of foreign investments, head office of most institutions and so many other government parastatals like the Port, etc. The earning potential would definitely be at other states hands down.

If these other states go about locking people's shops for not paying like Lagos, they'll have no more shops in their states.
So you believe a business that is not owing workers' salaries is not making money?. They don't believe such in Lagos or Europe.

Yes, it's pure theatrics. Majority of Delta North people are not interested in Ned's game. More than 90% of Ika and Ndokwa people are not in on it. One would think the Enuani would accept it with open arms but from all indications, their leaders are showing disinterest as well. Maybe the easterners that want it so much will come to Delta north and naturalise in high numbers let's see how they achieve that

Extra state creation, in any part of the country, should not be contemplated for now.

When States are created just to satisfy the egos of certain individuals or groups, this is what you get.

The proposed Anioma State should rather be called "Ned Nwoko State" before he ends up "crushing" people.

Megalomaniacs, everywhere you go!

Ned Nwoko State is a must!

It's not the fault of Lagosians Lagos state was made the capital of Nigeria.

Lagos has been prospering before Nigeria was founded. Before Nigeria was created, no part of the south east can compete with Lagos.
grin abeg leave those envious and jealous bitter leaf people….they wish it was their landlocked potopoto land that was chosen by the British grin no be our fault that their ancestors chose to settle in landlocked areas….their hate won’t still stop Lagos from progressing forward.

“Ned’s game”? You call it a game? I laugh in Hindu. Sorry bro, it is not a game, but the reality!

Did you not read that the disagreement came from 9 members of the Delta state house of assembly, who were asked to sign on blank papers? They were all in support and still remain in support. Do you expect 9 members of the Delta state house of assembly to stop the move? Surely even children know that it is impossible. Did you not read that 75 Senators were in agreement? Did you read of any disagreement from the members of House of Representatives from Delta north? Who told you that it is the agitation of the Igbos from across the River? By the way, who says that Ukwuanis and the Ikas are not Igbo people? While those of Delta Central and South are agitating for their own state, do you expect the Ukwuanis and Ikas to be stateless? Or do you cover them to be part of Edo state, when they do not share common cultural affinity?

Look, just as the Igbos from across the River travel to Delta north and the rest, do you not know that people of Delta north reside in large population across the river? By the way, are you resident in Delta state, or you rely on Nairaland and Saharareporters?
If you choose to differentiate by using the names “Enuani”, “Ikas” and “Ukwuanis”, the simple fact is that they are all Igbos. Aligning with their kith and kin across the other side is very necessary and enhances better sense of belonging.

What we await is the constitutional amendment. That should happen around December, and by next year, Anioma state, just like others will happen.

Like is always said, the minority will have their say, while the majority will have their way. Those in majority for creation of the state already have their way.

Some people here are not intelligent at all, Anioma state that was discussed during the mid west region even before the creation of Bendel state.Ned is not the person who started the race, the only problem is that it is very difficult for a state creation in democracy. It is only the military that can easily create state without any one going against it.All the Igbos in benue,Edo,kogi, cross river, akwa ibom , delta, rivers and bayelsa state need to reunite with south East region. Some people are saying lagos is more populated than the whole South East without knowing that only Igbos in lagos are almost 40% of the population of lagos state.

See, when you talk with me, please be updated. I do not like to waste time teaching history classes here. If you took your time to read and research, you’d have found that when IBB would break up the old Bendel state, Anioma state was agitated for. Originally, Bendel was to be broken up into three states, creating Edo, Delta and Anioma states. Go and read. Go and read about those who owned the name “Delta state” and tell me if they ever wanted Enuani, Ikas and Ukwuanis to be part of them. Always discuss from the point of history and facts, otherwise you will be talking hear say and beer parlour.

By the way, if you do not want any “inch” of you, tell us how you want to force yourself on the Urhobos, Itsekiris, Isokos, Ijaws and Binis. Maybe that inch you are talking about will be stateless.

Go through the posts on this thread, including the original poster, and note those that 1) are against the creation of Anioma state; 2) are against Anioma state, when created, being part of the south-east; 3) and those who are using BLATANT lies and scare tactics of 'insecurity' and 'IPOB' to try and discourage Anioma people from joining their south-east kinsfolk! Note all those posts, and you will see a nexus between the posters and support for Tinubu/APC, hatred for Ndigbo/Obi/Kanu/IPOB/etc, and originating from a particular ethnic group in Nigeria!

I will continue to warn Ndigbo....including most other ethnic groups in Nigeria, that we will NEVER be safe and have the freedom and use of our own resources to prosper at our own pace if we continue sharing the same country with certain ethnic groups! Those ethnic groups have among them a certain clique of individuals with a certain negative disposition towards Ndigbo! They are PURE EVIL and have bad mind towards us! We will NEVER prosper and have the same opportunities as others if we continue to naively and stupidly do 'one Nigeria' with that wicked and envious lot!
