I thought nnpc invited obasanjo to the portacorth refinery to confirm that the refinery is truly working. Walahi for inviting obj is an insult to elders

You are absolutely spot on! Some people have sworn over their dead bodies to see the refineries function. Yet, people will still argue that the country will be better some day. Fa hear!
Then let you tiny god go against those people. You people said tinubu is no push over.

Obasanjo knew its old and can't be maintained or repaired again, and he didn't think of building another one then, now he's complaining, they are all corrupt people, and they know what they are doing....dangote is happy that the refinery is not working off course,I doubt if he's not part of who is paying them to make sure it didn't work again...God will deliver us
It's proven in Nigeria Government is not better manager of a company. That was why he sold it but Yar'Adua was deceived to reverse it...

We owe obasanjo a lot. Imagine him clearing our debt of 36 billions dollars then went ahead to save 45 billion and 25 billion excess crude funds.

Now u accused him of not building refinery. How can he do that? Where will the fund come from.? The person that has that opportunity was Yar'Adua not obj

Atiku declared he would sell NNPC to his friends just as he sold our key national assets cheaply to his cronies as VP without any tangible results till date. The new PH refinery which is being constructed will come on board very soon. Nigeria will have all her refineries back and handed over to private operators to manage on behalf of the Nigerian people. It's a stupid idea to sell off NNPCL which gives us majority of our revenue.

-Kiss the truth!
Another wicked soul spotted!
Why are you people so heartless?
Imagine defending corruption, shame and utter recklessness.
When it was revealed that Kyari and APC led government were taking Nigerians for a ride some months ago with their packaged fraud refineries they said we're operational, you called us all sorts of names, start calling Dangote names now that he has exposed your deception..

They should sell the whole thing as scrap to Aboki baje baje! This was what I expected Tinubu to do immediately he was sworn in. The level of corruption in the so called Turn Around maintenance is mind boggling.
You were among the people who were shouting Tinubu's praise up and down when they said the refinery was running.

Wicked supporters everywhere.

How did Dangote get the latest materials for building his own refinery?
A personal enterprise is quite different from a government enterprise.
The person, will want his enterprise to succeed.
So he will make sure he personally imports the equipment he needs.
-
Government is made up of many nameless individuals.
Each one will sabotage the other.
The money will be released, but nothing will be bought/imported.
You are a Nigerian. You've seen this 1000s of times.

The fund was not budgeted under Tinubu. Dont allow hatred and propaganda to end you up.
But you guys were giving credits to the Tinubu's administration for making the refineries work. Then you guys didn't say the funds weren't budgeted under Tinubu.

Make ona dey try.

This is the story of a 60,000 barrel/day outdated refinery vs a modern 650,000 barrel/day working refinery.

It's obvious.

Dangote trying to get rid of competition as usual, he is the apostle of monopoly.
I wont be surprised if he somehow have a say in the refineries not working.
Re: NNPC Refineries May Never Work Again — Dangote by Inspirer1: 9:48am On Jul 11, 2025
Just imagine how the govt fuuled some fuuls less than a year ago, the fuuls were all over the place online claiming the PH refinery was working and refining products bla bla bla...I wonder how they all feel now undecided

When people complain, it's done out of desire for something good and tangible, but they see such complaints as hating on politicians.
Re: NNPC Refineries May Never Work Again — Dangote by belikewater: 9:50am On Jul 11, 2025
They should just sell the scrap refinery as 'iron kwandem' to other abokis jare grin

Apc government is a curse to this nation. Buhari came and occupy the dual position of president and minister of petroleum. Under whose watch a huge amount of 💰 ney was air marked for a turn around maintenance. Knowing fully well that these relics will not function. But deliberately allowed the stealing under his watch as the then minister of petroleum. Tinubu came and did the same occupying the same dual position for no good reason other than to perpetuate the agenda of the Apc which is to bring this country to its knee. May their evil atrocities reverberate and never be forgotten through out generations and their wickedness be introduced as case study in our syllabus to ward off such reoccurrence. May they be remembered through out history as the arc angels of darkness and strife.

This is something I have been saying since 2005 when I did my IT in PH refinery. Imagine how many hospitals, schools and roads that could have been built or maintained with the billions of USD wasted on these moribund refineries.
Nigerian politicians just don't love this country.
Re: NNPC Refineries May Never Work Again — Dangote by davygifted(m): 11:11am On Jul 11, 2025

Atiku once clamored for selling the refineries to private sector, but he was abused and called unprintable names.

Now, look at how much resources that have been wasted with no result, yet the government keeps going around on circles, doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results
Re: NNPC Refineries May Never Work Again — Dangote by Goke7: 11:40am On Jul 11, 2025
The refineries will work if they are fully privatised, but the problem is that they will all end up acquired by Dangote, even by proxies. grin

Re: NNPC Refineries May Never Work Again — Dangote by tunapawizzy: 11:55am On Jul 11, 2025
Even for small devices like phones, cars, TVs. Parts will weaken over time and you will never get 100% efficiency over time.
With Nigerian state owned refineries, we are talking decades of bad maintenance, sabotage, neglect.
Those refineries are gone, any attempt to revive them is just wasting resources, and NNPC people trying to keep themselves on the job.

Why didn't Atiku sell it when he was VP? He was in charge of privatisation. He sold other state assets. Why did he leave out nnpc then?
