Spending more than they earn

They want to impress so they are afraid to embark on certain businesses that would have been profitable but looked down upon.

They also try to create this lavish lifestyle image to impress their peers which leads to wasting precious funds.

They don't know that business needs time to boom so they start a business and immediately short it down after a year because they weren't earning enough.

They quickly start having kids before being financially stable. Kids drain finances so be prepared.

They remain too comfortable with their current job that may not be generating enough financially. This reduces the willingness to elevate their career.

The major mistake being made is japaing to abroad.

Jumping into business that they don’t fully know about like Forex,little mistake and you are back to square one. Also falling for scams, but they wouldn’t know in the moment, unless they apply the rule of thumb to stop yourself from falling victim.

Investment comes in different ways. Person wey dey collect 50k must maximize his 24/7. Any available hour left after work should be used to learn something that will eventually bring side income. If your weekend is free, invest it on learning something even if it's furniture making, plumbing, auto mechanic etc. Being available for a neighborhood, community organization, alumni class or school group are also investments. It has paid off handsomely for some people.

Think of this: A typical rich man hardly have time to sleep, they are always busy running around for more deals. Why should someone collecting 50k have so much free time for leisure, Nairaland and sleep?

There's difference between what you spend your money on and financial planning.

It's not what you spends your money on that consumes it,but how you plan your finances, short and long term goal oriented.

There are some gamblers, womanizers and alcoholics that are doing well financially .

They were able to meet up with their financial goals, they set money aside for their entertainment and invest the others

Don't invest in ponzi business. It is a high risk investment and when you lose your money in Nigeria it is irreconcilable. Be warned.
