Oil Communities Endorse Amaechi For 2027 Presidency by muhammaduyusufu(op): 8:54pm On Jul 11, 2025
Back Him to Lead Opposition Coalition

…Says his political experience, national appeal make him best candidate.

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum, oil and gas-producing communities in the Niger Delta have thrown their weight behind former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, urging the opposition coalition to adopt him as its presidential candidate.

Speaking in Port Harcourt on Friday, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Community Development Coalition (CDC), Joseph Ambakaderimo, praised Amaechi’s political pedigree, describing him as a bold, experienced leader with a national appeal.

Ambakaderimo said Amaechi’s long-standing political career — spanning eight years as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, eight years as Governor, and another eight as Minister of Transportation — places him far ahead of other aspirants in the opposition.

“Amaechi’s political experience over the years and his boldness in addressing national issues stand him out,” Ambakaderimo noted. “He is fearless, articulate, and has proven capacity. His track record in Rivers State and as Minister under President Muhammadu Buhari speaks volumes.”

The CDC leader argued that if the opposition coalition is serious about unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027, Amaechi remains its best bet. He added that Amaechi enjoys wide popularity across the country, especially in the North, where he “delivered significant infrastructure projects as Minister” and where the bulk of electoral votes reside.

“He is also well accepted in the South-East and South-West,” Ambakaderimo added. “He served the nation with dedication, especially in the railway sector, which he revitalized after decades of neglect. Today, millions of Nigerians benefit from his legacy in modern rail transport.”

Speaking further, he cast doubt on Atiku Abubakar’s chances of securing the ADC coalition ticket, citing ongoing political sentiments that power should remain in the South for another eight years.

“Given the three aspirants that have declared interest in the ADC, Amaechi stands a better chance. Yes, Peter Obi performed well in 2023, but Amaechi proved his political strength in the APC presidential primaries, coming second only to Bola Tinubu.”

Ambakaderimo concluded by reiterating that while he may not be a card-carrying member of the opposition coalition, he and other Niger Delta stakeholders believe that Rotimi Amaechi has the experience, credibility, and national reach to lead the opposition to victory in 2027.

They backed him to win ADC primary or presidency? Which one? Hope they know the difference? Tell Obi and Atiku that you want to dash Amechi ticket. ADC primary will be very interesting because each of the major candidates is a bad looser. Atiku, Obi and Amechi; each of them is a bad looser. Once it is not each of them that wins that primary, it means that primary is marred with fraud and can never be acceptable. Each of them will get angry and will never support one another. Instead, each of them will seek alternative platform to run ridiculing coalition and throw away coalition in the mud

Re: Oil Communities Endorse Amaechi For 2027 Presidency by appleous: 9:51pm On Jul 11, 2025
Amaechi as he stands today, can't win the Rivers state governorship election if he contests.

Somehow, some scallywags think he stands a chance over Obi or Atiku?

Even the hard of sight and hearing knows this "endorsement" was paid for.

Unfortunately for him, it wont translate to votes.
Re: Oil Communities Endorse Amaechi For 2027 Presidency by SmartPolician: 9:52pm On Jul 11, 2025
These people are actually deceiving Amaechi because he has no political value. He lost it all when he started associating himself with APC. Became vindictive, hated his own people and spent 8 years in office as Transport Minister without a significant project in the South South. Dude is just uselezzzz to his people.

They are not wasting their time. Nigerian leadership na turn by turn. They are building their campaign base and bargaining rights.

One would've thought that Buhari was wasting his time when he contested 3 times, but he won at the 4th attempt.

Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha I no fit laugh jare jo.

The person I pitied the most in 2022 was Ameachi. He was actually made to believe by a group of people who hate Tinubu with all their heart and veins that Buhari will hand pick him as his anointed candidate lol 😂. Ameachi sef suppose reason am but then 😂 I wonder why he is having grudges with Tinubu after all, the field was made open for Ameachi and others to contest at the Primaries and Tinubu defeated them all black and blue. Hahaha 😂

ADC must hold presidential primaries o. I want to see oil money versus groundnut pyramid money versus Alcohol money.

he is free to aspire and to contest for the party ticket. At the end of the day, if he loses, he will support anyone that wins the ticket, but I doubt if adc will give the ticket to a southerner; they will rather give the ticket to a northerner. The north is where the votes are, it is the north that gave Buhari 12m votes , it is the north that gave tinubu over 65% of the votes, the south will never vote en masse. For a single candidate, the South is too sophisticated for that, even Yorubas won't give Tinubu bloc votes except he rigs the results

But the same south in some states gave someone 95 % and over. So where is their sophitistcation?

When I said the south is sophisticated, I didn't mean it as an insult to the north. What I meant was that the south are too independent or should i say literate to follow one single person without questioning that decision, even now, many Yorubas don't like tinubu, and many have never liked him , but the north is different, maybe because of the uniform religion, they seem to follow their political and religious leaders a lot

Speak for yourself.

Igbo people voted for Obasanjo, YarAdua, Goodluck Jonathan etc. When have you voted mostly for a presidential candidate from southeast since 1999?

you are very wrong. Ameachi will accept vice presidential candidate if offered because Atiku will surely be the candidate of ADC. It is left for obi to agree to run with Atiku or he join another party. When I say, most south south don't longer allign with south east cos they are too tribalistic. When given chance, they will malign south south. People who don't regard Ebonyi state as real igbos, is it tribe in south south they will regard. We are so wise and political calculative than them now.
