Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has said he is wondering what Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, is doing in the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

It is no longer news that Peter Obi is one of the top political leaders in the newly formed coalition movement whose aim is to remove President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Bode George, during an interview on Arise News, called on all those who have left the main opposition party to return to the party to brighten their chances of beating Tinubu in the coming election.

“We were in crisis for quite awhile because of the issue of who will sign to INEC but we’ve been able to resolve that…you see the situation in Nigeria now, those who are jumping ship I wish them the best of luck, but people that matter are the electorate.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God. I have no qualms in my mind about PDP not being able to do it.

“Those people who are there [in the ADC], they benefited from this party. Do you disown your father’s house? What are you looking for if not for personal reasons? Self-centredness, selfishness… And when I saw Obi there, I was wondering what he was doing there.

“Which of them had not been part of PDP? I wish them well but I’m advising them, come back let’s work together. You want to kick Bola out in 2027 and you want to divide the house.”

Other members of the coalition include former Senate President, David Mark, former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and so many others.

One thing I know about most obi supporters is that they don't do blind loyalty. They won't vote atiku just because obi supports atiku
That's the difference between people who support objectively and blind APC followers who swallow and defend every rubbish their master ask them to

If Obi supports Atiku because of ADC, most obi supporters will not even vote that day. They will rather sit on the fence.

Two possibilities actually.
1. Peter Obi might have agreed to run as Atiku’s running mate in 2027. However, he needs to put up a showmanship for his base to think he actually competed for the presidential ticket and lost. Thereafter, there will be some kind of public pressure from ADC and rescuers of Nigeria for him to join the Atiku ticket and he will then announce that he has accepted to be the vice presidential candidate simply because of the need to unite and rescue Nigeria.

2. Peter Obi and his team might actually have this deluded believe that Atiku will step aside and handover the party ticket to him. Sincerely, that’s the height of crass delusion because it’s never going to happen. Even if Peter Obi somehow finds a way to pick the ticket, he’s not going to win the election as Atiku and his gang can’t influence the needed votes for him in the north east and west.

ADC is for Atku's inordinate Northern ambition. Obi should quit and not be part of the charade.

Firstly, with outcome of 2023 election, Obi has proved to Nigerians that he is a force that need a little push to be there

Secondly, note ADC can not give ticket to Obi, (ATIKU never lose primary except on concensor). So ADC is to promote ATIKU interest.

So why is it not funny that Obi joined a party that will make him auxiliary to ATIKU

I think he's trying to use them, by riding on their influence for northern votes.
But he's wrong.

Atiku primarily is very much interested in presidency, to the last. He has already voiced out that he feels Obi betrayed him by pulling out on his vc role to run with LP.
He will try to draw him back or then cripple him.

Atiku also wants to ride his influence, and Atiku is smarter.
He will definitely run for primary and win delegates with money. Amaechi will vc if Obi doesn't. It will be too late for Obi to start at a new party by then.

Atiku will not win 2027 but he will continue his momentum towards 2031. He might win that time, since Shettima (better positioned within incumbent reign) is being silly with criticism of a ship he's sailing in.
Atiku's aim of courting Obi is to assimilate him or paint him bad if he starts throwing tantrums for loosing the primaries.

I don't support Tinubu. I don't like any of them.
He won't loose reelection. Power is going go to the north after him.
I pray it won't be Atiku and his 30 children.
If Obi falls in line with him. He wins.
Obi can get his turn in 2039, afterall Atiku has been contesting since 1993.
Obi one day maybe. But not yet. Hw still needs more of such coalitions.

We are analyzing politics here and in as much as Peter Obi is desperately putting himself out to be president, we shall continue to analyze his candidacy just like Atiku or any other aspirants.
