Floating the exchange rate has to be an important factor here. Hate it or love it, this government has done a lot economic reforms that are bound to yield good growth and development.
Betting against the economic decisions of this administration can be very damning.
How did floating the exchange rate help in this situation? It devalued the entire stock exchange almost by 6 places

Out of hundreds of companies listed in the Nigerian stock exchange, statisense just selected the few that made returns to push the narrative that the stock market has performed well
How else should they shown that the stock market is performing well without showing the gainers?
You no know wetin you dey talk.
You used sucess to measure good performance and failure to depict bad performance.
NSE is one of the best performing globally, I'm not the one saying it but the people making good returns from it

Instead of investing in NSE, I would rather fund my Sportybet account with 3million and start playing over1.5 or carry PSG to win in most of their matches, trust me that 3m mieght yield extra 3.5m in two months.

I'm talking from experience, I gained roughly 2.5million in Sportybet last league season, although I stake mostly 10-25k in only 3 selections. Still can't wait for season to start.

NSE my gaddamnnnn assssssss!!!!

grin... We call them road side burgers. The ones pressed on the show glass are not the ones you will get when you eventually order.

When you factor in the 30 percent yearly inflation and the naira depreciation the reality is likely more humbling.

A house of card built on sandy beach near a blistering storm.

Most of the gainers are less than 0.1% of businesses listed on NSE.

truth is the NSE is not a place to invest for the common man.

Search on nairaLand here stock market pickup alert.

You go hear real touching stories from people like you who invested.

Carry your money go buy Amazon share Facebook black rock or other big pharma stock.

NSE na it's full of red flags you know nothing except given your money to them.... it's shrouded in secrecy.

Lol.. you all saying stock is a scam..
It really isn't...
Stock exchange(SE) reflects the strength and weakness of your country's economy..
Most times, when you invest your money in business, it's almost the same profit/loss you will get in SE...
For example, if you have 5millon naira, and you want to invest. You would look for a good business that will bring profit for maybe 1yr..
If the business is not that profitable, at the end of one year you'll have either your 5m(in assets) or assets plus little profit or even lesser...
If it is profitable, you will see up to 1m in profit or more... Minus Ur initial 5m capital...
Same with SE..
If you invest your 5m in "Good stock" after a year you can see up to 1m in profits or more , minus your initial 5m..
If it's bad stock, lol, you might not get any profit or in some cases your 5m might drop...
It all depends on the economy performance no be magic or JuJu...
Yeah stock makes money but it is like "kalukalu". Best thing in my opinion is to go from bank to bank, negotiate a good interest rate for fix deposit, put in your money for 3 months, after that take your interest and convert it to £, throw that one to your UK acct or local domiciliary, then run the FD for another 3 months or move to to another place offering better interest.
Ofcouse you know uk banks can never pay more than 4% interest unlike developing countries that pay more, naija FD rates go as high as 20%. So having £50k equivalent in naija gives you a higher income that having it in UK bank. Inflation is a concern though, but that is why you do it for 3-6 months.
At 16% my paddy sees 1.2m earning monthly on FD.

What happened in 2008?

Was it with a company or a bank?
Apart from these two(2) that I mentioned, which other organisations can be classified as a stock-exchange?

Re: How Much You Would Have Made In 6 Months If You Invested ₦1 Million In The NSE by ecomalchemisttt: 9:58am On Jul 12, 2025
Three things you can do with 1M instead of investing in the NSE.

1. If you have money and don’t know what to do with it , you better go and buy palmoil and Store then you sell for profit.

I bought palmoil in February for 33k (25ltr) about 15 kegs directly from my village in AkwaIbom , shipped to lagos , 3k per keg, transported to my house (15k)… I sold them for about 67k (market price) each.

Why I go carry 1M go put for Nigerian stocks ?! lol , make una wise up ooo.

2. You can try Fixed deposit , just make sure the bank gives good RoI.

3. Save in USD.

Leave all this hustling backwards investment. Na rubbish.

You rather emancipate yourself from believing bad news and denying goodnews. You have zero knowledge of the stock market or its operation. Stati sense is a well known entity providing relevant statistics about various national issues. But when it’s good news, you doubt it. Cleanse your mind from inherited hatred. Desist from being a child of hatred and bitterness.

Can you please explain further by giving us more insights as regards the risk involved as well as how to mitigate/avert such risk
Shares go up and down. That's it, and nothing anyone can do about it. You can reduce your risk exposure by studying the market and movement patterns and studying the fundamentals of any company you wish to invest in. You can do this yourself or have an expert do it for you. Learn to recognise temporary highs and lows so you know what to buy, sell or hold for the long term. Learn to recognise bubbles.
