This is Nigerian mentality speaking. No be say UEFA just wrote that rule this month. It's a rule that have been in place for years. UEFA definitely, independently, ran an investigation into the club being a newcomer in the competition. It's just like how the Nigeria DSS run background check into nominated ministers for security reasons.

UEFA had earlier given all clubs until March 1, 2025, to sort out any ownership conflicts. Palace failed to meet that deadline.

You are right.... Coming through the backdoor isn't always merited.... It's unfortunate they both owned by same company... So rules is one must give way for one... In this case lyon merited it... Unlike palace which we know cup games are string of luck

Bcus when it comes to qualification, Uefa recognize position rather than domestic cups.
Both Palace and Lyon are owned by one person. Lyon are rightly place cus they came 6th in their league while Palace were below 10th position in EPL. If not for the fa cup the won they wouldn't have in the conversation in the first place. That's why they're paying the price

Nobody reported anything. Even before palace won the fa cup Uefa has already told the owners of it. A recent interview from John Textor the owner of Eagles Holding who had a stake in both Palace and Lyon. He said on the day palace beat City to the fa cup. It was sweet and sad for him. Sweet knowing palace just a first ever trophy and sad knowing their participation in the Uefa will be look into.
Uefa even gave them till March to sort out administrative issues between both clubs which they failed to comply.
So Nothingham Forest has no hand in it, but fate trying to smile on them.

They do not even deserve to be in the conference league too. Club like this seek to have as many of their financed clubs in Europe so they can manipulate bet should their team meet. When one team is allowdd more will end up there n pollute the system like eeverything the jews touch that is the real reason for that rule.

I doubt that. The rules are clear. March was the deadline to hitch his wagon and the man failed because he was greedily doing the 'either/or' gamble on the two clubs making muster.

Watched him on ESPN the other day pitifully defending himself and claiming he had no influence over the day to day running of the club he clearly owns as if UEFA will be busy chasing him around, snooping and bugging his phones to find out.

The rules are clear to preserve the integrity of the competition because anything can happen to influence results.

Just ask Formula One how much problems the two driver teams cause is the course of the season. Then you begin to hear the so called 'Team Orders' and the unfair results.

That's a disappointing verdict for Palace. But then again, this could be a blessing in disguise for them, as they could win their first European trophy, via Conference League, and then still get to play the same Europa (That's if they rectify the Lyon ownership thing)

It's not in the article. It was Nottingham Forest that wrote to UEFA that crystal palace is breaching UEFA multi-club rules. You think UEFA started investigating Crystal palace out of the blues? Somebody tipped them off!

Oliver Glasner has done wonders with palace so it is no blessing in disguise they fought hard to win the prestigious FA Cup which is a respected cup in England unlike Carling cup. This same man took Eintracht Frankfurt to the Final and Won the Uefa Europa League. Palace on the otherhand have better team so I call this injustice they should return Palace back to the Europa league

Rubbish and Google. The reason for their removal is mult-club ownership rules, stated clearly in the article. No one repotted anybody. Two clubs owned by the same owners are not allowed to compete in the same European competition.
This is clearly stated in the article.

UEFA could have still investigated it. That's why all clubs were given 1st off March to put their house in order. Crystal were supposed to do it without hoping to win FA cup and start running too court
