You are not smart at all.If you are, you check the stock performance within the period and you will know there's an increase in all parameters.In the stock market, there must be gainers and losers.

I can't trade or invest in any Nigeria Stock Exchange.. I am contented with the ones listed below ..

Currencies; EURUSD, USDJPY, EurJpy
NZDusd,AUDusd

I do check Dxy ( dollar index for how dollar will do for the week )

Metal ; Xauusd ( Gold)

Stock indices; S&P 500 ( us500,spx500)
And I do check Nasdaq ( US30, ustec ,wall street ) ...

Stock exchange(SE) reflects the strength and weakness of your country's economy..
Most times, when you invest your money in business, it's almost the same profit/loss you will get in SE...
For example, if you have 5millon naira, and you want to invest. You would look for a good business that will bring profit for maybe 1yr..
If the business is not that profitable, at the end of one year you'll have either your 5m(in assets) or assets plus little profit or even lesser...
If it is profitable, you will see up to 1m in profit or more... Minus Ur initial 5m capital...
Same with SE..
If you invest your 5m in "Good stock" after a year you can see up to 1m in profits or more , minus your initial 5m..
If it's bad stock, lol, you might not get any profit or in some cases your 5m might drop...
It all depends on the economy performance no be magic or JuJu...

The stock market remains one of the best pathway for the everyday Nigerian to gain wealth , it is just slow but sure if you invest in Fundamentally sound companies.

That's why so many fraudsters like CBEX thrive in Nigeria. They exploit our desire for money instantly which often carries alot of risk.

Savy investors in NGX know that every stock rise and falls. don't let that sway you. When i buy shares, i have no short term desire to sell. I let it marinate there and i have actually made money in form of dividends.

Rather than criticize, why not seek knowledge to understand how to make it work for you.

if you Can, pick any good company and ask google/chatGBT to give you the top 20 stockholders. You will see where many of our elites are packing thier money without lifting a finger.

In conclusion, investing in the stock market carries risk. However, long term passive investors in fundamentally sound companies profit from it.

How do one save in dollars?

Do you make profit off it?

Let's assume you bought a dollar at 1000/$ 6months ago it's just assumption. And now if dollar is trading at 1500/$

Your N1,000,000 buy at 1000/$ then was $1000 and today if you want to sell off it will become N1,500,000 gaining N500k as the Naira depreciate against the dollar.

You can buy from BDC and keep in your dorm account but if you house is very secured, you can keep it at home. But for me I keep mine on Blockchain I buy USDt and USDC. These are online stable coins pegged to the US dollars but USDC is better than USDT.

The problem with the bank is that they may not have the whole dollar when you want to withdraw it. But on crypto you can sell in 5mins.
