Meanwhile, exiled writer and human rights lawyer Kakwenza Rukirabashaija has raised objections over Gen. Moses Ali’s candidacy. He warned that he will file a public interest petition at the High Court if the Electoral Commission proceeds to nominate the aging politician for the Adjumani West parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Nile Post, Kakwenza expressed serious concern about Gen. Ali’s health, citing signs of cognitive decline and mental disorientation. He argues that the 86-year-old is no longer capable of performing the constitutional responsibilities required of a Member of Parliament.

African has this culture, just like every position is seen as inheritance. I saw the video two weeks ago, not just Uganda, 90% of black Africa.

I think Ugandans are okay with him and as far as Ugandans are okay with him, I'm also okay with it.
