Good morning all,

Just like the subject says, I am wondering if it's possible to program a new key chip for my 2013 Toyota corolla without using those advanced diagnostic tools.

I got the car as tokunbo recently. And it only came with one key.

I got a blank uncut key which I have now cut. But it's not programmed.

I am wondering if I can program the new key to start the car without a tool. Haha.

All the videos on the topic on YouTube don't seem to work. And most are for older cars.

Anyone with some help should help. I want to do it myself without meeting those key programmers.

You need a key programming tool. I hope the blank key came with a chip.

That's what I found out.

All the YouTube videos I saw were for older cars.

Won't work. You'll have to pay those key programmers.

How much for 2012 corolla?
I want to do mine too, it comes with one kwh,

I don't know why 2010 and above cars come with single key unlike 2005 ones

I gave the person that cut it 5k.

But normally,the people that cut and program the keys usually have those uncut keys. So you can just pay them so they cut and program for you. Instead of buying your own separately and taking to them.

On their website, they said price was 16k. I called to place an order only for them to now say the price is 35k.

Paid a key programmer 30k to do it. I believe it's better than paying 35k excluding delivery fees for a product I'd only get to use once.

Just programming the chip would have cost me 10k.

But I needed them to program the remote too. And there was an issue. The new remote that came with the key I bought online wasn't the same frequency as my existing remote. I don't know if you understand.

So they had to sell me a new remote engine. That's what took up the cost of programming the chip and the remote to 30k

So had it been the remote engine was perfect, they would have done the chip and remote programming for like 15k or at most 20k.

If your VIN starts with a number and not the Letter J for japan u can program just the remote manually. U need a tool to program the G chip
