I think Muslims should rethink this their policy of burying the dead within 24hrs and in the place they died. It's only working only for the poor. And never for the rich. I remember when my muslim friend's dad in minna went to onitsha and criminals in bike cut off his hand and carried his moneybag, they buried him there in onitsha and sent message and we were invited for 3 day prayer. I was like "how?" A married man with children. They said something about burying before sunset. But sunset has not affected the burial of many prominent Nigerian Muslims - gani fawehimni, that strongman of ibadan politics, abacha, rimi's daughter died abroad and was brought back home, Maryam Babangida died abroad and was brought back home, dantata and now buhari. And many others I don't know about. |
