Niger State PDP Stakeholders Declare Support For Coalition by Egobetafor9ja(op): 8:06pm On Jul 13, 2025
Amid rising national challenges, key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State have thrown their weight behind the emerging National Political Coalition Group (NPCG), led by former Senate President, Senator David Mark, declaring full support for its political realignment efforts and adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a new platform for opposition unity.

In a strategic meeting held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Concerned PDP Stakeholders in the state convened to address the deepening socio-economic crisis, worsening insecurity, and the perceived erosion of democratic values under the current administration.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders noted that “the current state of the nation is untenable and demands urgent and collective action from all well-meaning citizens.” They criticized what they described as the failure of governance across critical sectors and called for a national reset through credible, issue-based political reconfiguration.

The meeting praised the renewed efforts of the National Political Coalition Group under Senator David Mark, describing it as “a timely and strategic intervention aimed at repositioning the country through a reinvigorated opposition, fresh political perspective, and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals.”

The stakeholders lauded the decision of the coalition to adopt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its unified platform, calling it a bold and commendable move in the face of Nigeria’s urgent political and governance challenges.

Consequently, the Niger PDP leaders resolved to strategically align with the NPCG, expressing confidence in its capacity to offer a credible alternative and restore good governance in Nigeria.

“We firmly believe that this coalition represents the most viable path to rescuing Nigeria’s democracy and building a nation that works for all,” the communiqué stated.

The group also issued a rallying call to PDP members across the state and the general public to support the new political direction in the collective interest of Niger State and Nigeria at large.

Prominent attendees at the meeting included: Hon. Abdullahi Hussaini MaiBasira, Hon. Baba Shehu Agaie, Hon. Mukhtar Ahmed Mohammed, Rt. Hon. Saidu Ndako Kpaki (Former Secretary to the State Government), Rt. Hon. Umar Musa Ma’ali (Former State Chairman), Rt. Hon. Mohammed Tsonwa Gamuno, Hon. Abdullahi Shehu, Rt. Hon. Ndanusa Hassan and Barr. Musa Kallamu alongside several other distinguished party leaders and stakeholders.

They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing a united, secure, and prosperous Niger State and Nigeria through proactive engagement and credible political collaboration.

The priority should be to choose a leader who can govern better than Tinubu, not just to remove Tinubu only to replace him with someone even worse. Competence must come before greed and wasteful governance.

People are suffering!!!

To me, Wike is responsible for all the political crisis rocking political parties in Nigeria at the moment.

With the emergence of the ADC and the mass defection to the party especially within the northern region, Wike is unarguably political irrelevant and can't do much for tinubu in 2027.

That is what bitter people don't know. Atiku loyalist and pdp will still have other politicians remaining. If it was APC leaders declaring, then i will understand. The other pdp leader s may later support Tinubu. Who now get the advantage.

Why is it that nzogbu nzogbu politics has blind you people. Pdp has been divided and atiku loyal faction went to join the coalition. How did that affect APC when they will later poch the other pdp members to join APC or work with them. You people just lack political foresight. No wonder you guys are wandering politically.

only igbos believe some faction of pdp joining ADC with few APC members will automatically transform to winning. APC is even getting the advantage cos they will end up teaming with the other faction of pdp. Una know really no politics at all. When Atiku becomes the ADC candidate, then you will understand better cos pdp southerners will work against him big time. South south pdp governors are already aligning with APC.

All APC votes will be either divided or converted to ADC due to lack of voter education.

APC..ADC

Major advantage of ADC

All Nigeria needs now is strong political opposition, an alternative view to governance to hold it to account.

Good governance, good governance, good governance is ultra hard work and is only possible where there is accountability.

This is why huge amounts of effort and huge resources have been expended by this government and this leader to entrench authoritarianism via the capture of institutions and a one party state.

Left to their devices this country will then be led down through such an undemocratic path it may never recover from and will end up like other nations where revolutions have become inevitable.

The essence of democracy is broad based participatory governance where the people are given multiple choices of leadership options and where the leaders actively compete for the approval of the citizens.

The ability of any government at any time to keep this ideal healthy is a pointer to the viability and the fortunes of the nation going forward.

There is no sporting organisation that will attract sponsorship if it's competitions are attended by just one individual or team.

There is no administrative organisation that will run efficiently if it invites bids from only one vendor.

Why should any Nigerian think his country can prosper at the behest of any one individual leader or domination of any one political party.
