Imagine working hard all month, even overtime only to see strange deductions on payday.

Your boss says, “We deducted it because you were late.”

Or, “It’s company policy.”

But here’s the truth 👉 not every deduction is legal.

Whether it's for:

❌ Absenteeism
❌ Mistakes on the job
❌ Damaged company property
❌ Missing targets
Or vague “disciplinary” issues…

🚫 Your salary isn’t your boss’s personal wallet.

Under Nigerian labour law, unlawful deductions are a violation and you may be entitled to refunds or compensation.

📌 Your employer cannot deduct from your salary without your written consent or a valid reason under the law.

These shady deductions could be illegal - and you may be entitled to get that money back, plus possible damages.

Too many workers in Nigeria suffer in silence because they don’t know their rights.

But silence won’t pay your bills. Others fight back and win.

📞 If you’re experiencing unfair deductions or withheld pay, let’s talk.

Is not as if people don't know these laws, but the fear of being fired afterwards is the reason many are dieing in silence.
