Nigerian Man Lucky Ogbeijielele Arrested For Stabbing His Mother-inlaw to Death in Canada

In what’s being called a case of intimate partner violence, police have arrested a 36-year-old Nigeria man, Lucky Ogbeijielele, for st@bbing his mother-in-law to d3ath in Greater Sudbury, Canada

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2025.

A 32-year-old woman, believed to be the suspect’s wife, also received serious but not life-threatening injuries in the incident.

The Greater Sudbury Police in a statement said two children were found inside the residence, but had no physical injuries.

“Shortly after 12:35 a.m. this morning, July 2, 2025, officers were dispatched to an Intimate Partner Violence-related incident at a residence on Lorne Street,” the statement read.

“Information provided was that a community member and a family member had sustained serious injuries after a violent altercation with the community member’s partner.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a 32-year-old woman outside the residence who had sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedics.

“Officers made entry into the residence to check on the well-being of those who were believed to be inside.

“Officers located a 63-year-old woman who had sustained what are believed to be multiple stab wounds. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased on scene.

Sometimes, it's best to leave extended family out of your family business.

It may be easier controlling your wife and kids but once extended family gets involved, the situation becomes tricky and can easily escalate.

I have read responses to my comment.

Some asking whether a man must control and my answer is a big YES!

where ever there are more than one person, there must order and orderliness for the group to thrive.

Just as there cannot be two captains in a ship, a marriage and relationships thrive on same principle.

The chain of command must be maintained and respected if not things will definitely fall apart.

While I propound that there must be control and authority respected, the same way, there is a duty on the "captain" to ensure that power vested in him is exercised for the benefits of all members of the unit.

A disenchanted feeling among the members of the unit can lead to mutiny. So there's even a bigger duty on the man to manage that power he wields well.

Abroad, he's spending 15 - 20 years. At least.

His orientation will definitely change in jail. Prisoners will make sure of that.

True that, but men, the problem is, if you do something in anger, you will end up in jail.

As someone who has an anger problem, there are many times when I have to let situations go, otherwise I might end up doing something I would regret. That would land me in jail. And even if the jail is as nice as Norwegian jail...seriously google for jails in Norway...it is still a jail, I cannot go and come as I please, someone would decide what work I do and how my life should be organised, and I will not be able to travel or do any of my passions. What kind of life is that.?

There are always solutions to any issue.

Man is going to jail. No one is going to hear about the genuine issues he had with his MIL...since he has done the unthinkable.

When we say marriage is not for children, this is what we mean...
I always remember a friend and colleague of mine at about 10years ago who asked me if I was married and I said Yes. The next thing he uttered was, "Omo you are enjoying o... You will just be knacking anyhow you want!". I just looked at him and smiled, say this one no know anything.
Marry first na... then you will know better. Till now the guy is still single with white beards everywhere, but he relocated to Canada anyway. Good luck to everyone...
