I do not rejoice about people's death. Never. For the death, I say rest in peace.
But these yorubas that are preaching, you do not have any moral justification to do that.
I remember when abacha died, it was a friend of mine that ran to me "you hear abacha die?" And started singing and dancing in yoruba.
Why the whole hypocrisy? Even hausas celebrated his death but it's only igbos that are always targeted.
I'm igbo and I'm solemn and I wish him rest in peace

He is not and was not a sitting president at the time he died
Sitting implies still in power
Is it ok to oppress a people and ban them from crying out or expressing their feeelings? Nigeria turned for the worse in the last 10years which began when he became president

Try this in a saner climb like USA with Trump and let’s test your freedom of speech
so you cannot differentiate between threatening and wishing.

The last time I checked no one has ever threatened a sitting president of Nigeria they only wish them death with outrageous state, like the one we had during buharis tenure

Who con hold you from making the choice of jail?

Except you are not within the country's jurisdiction and want to lure unsuspecting fellas to fall into a trap.
Nobody is is going to jail, even if he was wished death. He was a spearhead in the attack on Jonathan, so how many people went to jail for parading a coffin with the picture of a sitting president?
Threatning Nigerians with Jail for doing something you encouraged, his plan of ruling Nigeria with threats and intimidation will not work.

Deji is right. wishing a sitting president death is not the way to go and should be discouraged. However we can draw a lesson for late ex PMB who died sadly in a foreign hospital ,a hospital most Nigerians never got to see ( pictures) untill his death shows failure of this govt. This should be a wake up call .

Fix the health system
The way e dey sweet una for mouth eh once e be una own. But Jonathan's coffin was carried and this same sitting president made people to wish GEJ death and all. What happened to him and his slaves then
Re: Message For Those Making Outrageous Remarks About A Sitting President's Death by Kalulu44: 10:15pm On Jul 14, 2025
It's never a good thing to wish anybody death wether your friend or enemy talkless of your president. But that said, this same sitting president incited people to carry GEJ coffin, wish him death, use red mark to mark his face and all. Nothing was done to him or anyone then. Isn't what's good for Greece also good for Uganda?

Interestingly, majority of all these people making all these outrageous comments against the sitting president are the aggressive nonentities.

Who has noticed that no respected member of the society has ever made such comments, despite not aligning with the ruling party/president's political ideologies. They know the implications and they even know that it's even morally wrong.

But these people, thinking they can always hide behind the keyboard and their phones just because they have data on their phone, would always be the ones doing all these.

I've always said one thing! You are free to express yourselves and your opinions matter too, but do it objectively and constructively.

If you choose to do it with hate and bad intentions, I can only pray that the government doesn't have your time. If they ever do, you will regret the day you bought that phone and would even wish you never had a phone to start with.

In conclusion, I wish everyone of you whatever you wish yourself.

Death threats to a sitting president is a criminal case that should be refused bail.
Deji Adeyanju himself needs to be in prison if Nigeria is working for encouraging and instigating death threats against the president

Well, all the foolishness and stupidity we are seeing isn't the sort of voice that social media and the Internet seek to give a people.
Our young people are misplacing their focus and I hope they won't blame anyone except themselves at their old age?

And you became sad because your Peter Obi has automatically lost his job under Abacha. The truth is, when Abacha died the jubilation wasn't regional but nation wide. Mean while, the only region so far that we have seen videos of people celebrating Buhari's death in a joyful way is in the core North a state called Kano.

Wishing a president dead is not against the law

It is morally repugnant but there's no part of our laws that forbids such thing
Threatening people with impunity is as bad if not worse
^^^
Waiting to see who will counter this.

What does the law actually say?
