One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Buhari is a cult figure in the North and remained so until the day of his death. You're free to have your opinions about him but let it remain your opinion. The young soldiers who killed Sardauna and Balewa thought they were doing the country a favour but the outcome of that singular action proved how wrong they were.
Having a cult figure and good intentions for your region doesn't translate to good leadership at the national level. My singular opinion may not be enough to change anything, but the opinion of the masses which I am rechoing is what matters. He spent our "national cake". Even the money spent looking after him in the London clinic wasn't his personal money. If he spent my money (our collective patrimony), I am entitled to and should have an opinion about him.

Those northerners that were rejoicing at the news of his death, I guess they were from the south east? Is time you Africans start holding your leaders, especially those at the national level accountable and stop playing the tribal card all the time.

And so?

Does the death of his father rubbish the fact that General Buhari was a very terrible president?

You may never understand my disappointment with Buhari but that's probably because you didn't know that I voted for Buhari in 2015 and 2019 because I so much believed the guy will do the magic

I made some formidable enemies in the course of my defending the guy

How could I have known that I was just backing the wrong horse all the while?

The masses? The "majority" of Nigerians disagree with you but it's okay for the minority to have their say. Buhari did not expend any money on himself or on healthcare that he hasn't earned by right or doesn't deserve. He began to serve Nigeria as a young soldier at the age of 19 and did so until his death. He bled and sweated for the country. What have you done for the country?

P.S: Buhari’s nephew is Mamman Daura, Leader of the Kaduna Mafia and he's even currently in London. You may want to Google him. Northern money is never loud. Buhari has never lacked money for a long time in his life even before becoming President. He just didn't have much use for it.

Read very well, thats not mockery but stating a fact. He is not responsible for Buhari's death

The guy mocked the death of former President Buhari in a now-deleted post only for his father to die a few hours later.

This is what we have been saying. If you mock the death of someone to hurt those who hold him dear, the door is not closed.

I guess while "servings" Nigeria he was not paid? A coupist who was among those that ruined Nigeria as a nation. A man who was among those who overthrew a civilian government. Someone chose the military as an occupation and you want to make something else out of it. Is it only those that that are in the military that are serving Nigeria? What about the civil servants in the local governments whose lives were wrecked by the military and the politicians?

How much money is your life worth? Serving in the military is not a paid job because you can never be paid enough. It's the only career where you pledge your life in service to the country. It's the ultimate form of sacrifice but I know you can't relate, and it's okay. Goodbye!

People join the US, Canadian and even the Russian militaries for the perks of the job. Buhari wasn't forcefully conscripted into the military, it was his choice of career. And you are telling me a Nigerian joined the military because of his belief in Nigeria.

I am not callous and heartless like many who because of tribe vote in wicked men into power. These men at the national level have caused so much pain and ruined several lives by their policies and maladministration Such men shouldn't be celebrated...

Nigerian Twitter user, Gaius chibueze popular know as Bitcoin chief announced his sudden death of his father this morning.

Bitcoin chief share his view about president Buhari death yesterday on his official handle. He wrote

Buhari was a very terrible president. We must not pretend now. May he soul get what he did to Nigeria

He later announced today via his handle about his fathe demised.

He wrote

A Few Minutes Ago, My Father Passed Away in His Home in Enugu State.

I am comforted by the memories like when I was just 5 years old, and he was already teaching me how to read the Bible and preach from house to house as a Jehovah’s Witness.

At a young age, my dad dreamed of becoming a lawyer, but his family couldn’t afford university education. Despite that, he never gave up on learning. He loved books deeply and read voraciously. During his time at Izzi Boys Secondary School, he was always first in his class.

I grew up watching him read all day and all night. My dad owned one of the biggest personal libraries I’ve ever seen.
He taught me to read when I was just five.

At just 19 years old, he left our village and moved to Ikom, Cross River State, to serve under his elder brother in business. It was there he met my late mother and got married.

In 1992, my dad came in contact with the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and from that moment, his life was never the same. He devoted the rest of his life to that faith and remained a staunch member until his final breath.

Nine years ago, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and had been battling it ever since. Last year, I flew him, his wife, and my younger brother to Turkey for a deep brain surgery. After the expensive procedure, he spent four more months there recovering. I even secured permanent residency for him in Turkey.

He felt better than he had in nine years, but despite that, he asked to return to Enugu he missed home and wanted to continue his ministry as a Jehovah’s Witness.

When he returned, he was doing well and could move around fairly normally again until four days ago. My younger brother rushed to my house, which is in the same compound, to tell me the battery implant in our dad’s chest had gone off. The tremors were back.

I immediately contacted the hospital in Turkey, they had given a 10 year warranty on the battery. After some back and forth, they told me he needed to return to Turkey for a replacement. But my dad refused. He looked at me and said, “You have tried. I am grateful. But I’ll prefer to wait for death.”

In my usual way, I insisted he must go back. I told him I’d put him on a flight this week. The last day I saw him before traveling to Abuja for the Igbo Fest, I told him again that he would be flying back soon he smiled and still said no.

Then today, my younger brother, Jehovah-Buikem, called me: “It has happened o. Mpa is gone!”

I felt deep sadness… but in truth, my father had been preparing us for this moment since I was 10 years old. He always talked about death with a smile. He had full conviction, as a Jehovah’s Witness, that Jehovah God would resurrect him when His kingdom comes.

If I were in Enugu today, I would have buried him immediately, just as he instructed. But I will fly back tomorrow and carry out his wishes exactly.

My dad wasn’t perfect I carry many scars from the wrongs he did to me but one thing I will never forget is this: he never told lies, and he never coveted what others had.

We settled our lifelong differences 9 years ago when I gave birth to my first son, IKEMBA.

Adieu, Chibueze Ngene.

In this 1998 picture, my father had taken me from our village, Obeagu Awkunanaw, to Topland in Enugu State, where I was to begin learning carpentry under his younger brother, Emeka, at the Enugu Timber Shade.

Source: https://x.com/gaiuschibueze/status/1944773685941858788?t=FtJbGhkNMwCJshqxI15Pww&s=19[/quote]First off, the story of this young Bitcoin guy's father resonated STRONGLY with me due to the fact that he was diagnosed 9 years ago in 2016 with Parkinson's tremors and lived with a DBS device. He should have accepted to travel back to Turkey for the DBS, but then again, I guess he had had enough.

Second, since his father became a Jehovah's Witness in 1992, this Bitcoin dude (Gaius) should have learned to be very circumspect about taunting Buhari or anyone after he or she has passed on. I read a book given to me back in the 1990s by a friend who is a Jehovah's Witness and I respect them for emphasizing on specific life topics in that high quality book which I still have in one of my personal home libraries
, and I know JWs to be largely responsible people. This is exactly how the Bitcoin guy ALSO openly and arrogantly taunted @Seun Osewa in an online post (2 or 3 years ago and that post was posted on a thread here on NL) that he offered Seun some amount of money (less than 60,000 USD if I remember correctly) to buy Nairaland but Seun declined the offer. Whether that truly happened, I have no idea. But he definitely did that loose talk to gain attention to a new site he launched.

Despite haven made money through his Bitcoins as a youth in his 30s, I would advice Gaius to be less garrulous and be more circumspect. It's good he deleted the X post condemning Buhari (who we know was seriously ill during his first-term in office and he looked so thin in appearance when he returned from his London treatment, and bluntly told Nigerians how I'll he was), his later years in office witnessed more foreign Fula herdsmen and militia killings of indigenous Hausas and other indigenous communities in Nigeria contrary to expectations that as a Fulani man with a Fula father who migrated from Niger Republic, he would use his influence to STOP these foreign Fulanis under the Miyetti Allah to stop those invasions. I have NEVER spoken ill about him because he was already an old man and so relied on advisers. It's the now President 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu's turn with his entire team to URGENTLY correct any errors Buhari made intentionally and unintentionally in his 8 years through the impending constitutional amendments in 2025, since it's the same APC political party and governance is a continuum.

Buhari did not live a fulfilled life, he was trying to compete with IBB and OBJ on who will rule Nigeria the longest and live the longest.

He lost out at the end. Running to London every month could not save him.

In my family we live till our 90s. My grand father is still alive at 92 years. He still dey go farm sef.
